Hi All,

I do hope that this is a "yes" or "no" question, i'm trying to get AI Stukas to have the underwing machine gun loadout (i'm flying as a wingman) but it does not appear in the ME as an option(Is it just me or hasn't it been added?) My question, is it posible to give the AI this loadout-i fear it's not.....I have searched the fórum but not seen anything. If there is a link please do tag me to it!!

Not in front of my game PC right now, but it is worth checking all of the different options for custom loadouts. Often they are organised according to which slot/order they appear on the aircraft's setup page rather than all in the first drop-down box.

In the Plane Advanced Properties dialog, Weapon Mods field, open the Weapons Mod dialog and choose ju87d3_wb81b from drop-down list 2.

 

For details on weapon mods and payloads, see "Modifications and Payloads for Planes" on pg. 302 of the IL-2 Sturmovik Mission Editor and Multiplayer Server Manual. On that page, the Payload Name Key gives the full name for the short names used in the payloads listed on subsequent pages.

BTW - I've been working on a couple of spawn groups based on your work in the manual and supporting groups. If I make them available I will, ofc, attribute most of the work to you :)

Thanks TP_Silk. A lot of the manual content is based on ideas that appeared in this forum, along with knowledge from the RoF editor manual, Prangster's Guide and videos, Vanders videos, and contact with subject matter experts like Haashashin. Many ideas were out there before I started writing the manual; I just organized them and wrote my own take on them. For instance, the random switch is based on an idea by Coconut and I created my own version of that idea. Sometimes, it's hard to know where an idea originated, but I think that it's generally accepted that you can freely use an idea and attribute the originator where possible.

Good Grief,

I had no idea that was there.....Many Many thanks once again JimTm and TP_Silk. I feel rather dumb to tell the truth!! Back to the manual again-if you only knew the amount of things i've found from it!!

No worries santiagojamesaea. I highly recommend that new and old editors take a trip through the manual ToC so they are familiar with what's possible. Also, it may help to read just the introductions to topics (I tried to keep them short).

I assure you that i do, but i will now be more careful and thourough in doing it- so as not to waste anyones time! By the way thank you for uploading the zip file with the missions from the manual- took me some doing but i now have smoking villages/towns and citys!!
