Ala13_Super6_1 Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Map pixel problem in the missions editor, when I try to open a map it looks like this. ¿Anyone know what the cause may be?
coconut Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Some guesses based on past experiences which may or may not remain relevant today: 1) if you are using multiple monitors, don't put the editor on a monitor left of the primary monitor. 2) if you have an integrated GPU, force the OS to use your gaming GPU instead.
Ala13_Super6_1 Posted January 9, 2017 Author Posted January 9, 2017 OK thank you very much. I have tried to check what you say, but no effect, it is as if the whole map is pixilated and the more zoom you do, the worse you see.
JimTM Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 (edited) Your .jpg image is not available anymore, but I can imagine what the View Port looks like. Try the solution in "GUI Map Does Not Match the Terrain in the View Port or Terrain Appears to Be Corrupted" on pg. 181 of the IL-2 Sturmovik Mission Editor and Multiplayer Server Manual. Ala13_Super6_1 Posted January 9, 2017 Author Posted January 9, 2017 (edited) this is the problem. I have tried the JimTm guide solution but it does not solve my problem. Edited January 9, 2017 by Ala13_Super6_1
Urra Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 If you have the terrain.cfg file active in your graphics folder it may do this. Renaming it to anything else would disable it.
JimTM Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 (edited) Check out this post. The second screenshot has the exact same pixilated mess that you have. Edited January 9, 2017 by JimTM
Ala13_Super6_1 Posted January 11, 2017 Author Posted January 11, 2017 (edited) I have checked the post and it is true that it is the same problem as mine but they do not give any solution. They say that it is a graphic card error although everything works perfectly for me. I do not know what the solution is, reinstalling everything is the only thing I can think of. Urra Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 (edited) Try going into folder where editor is and click on the "reset editor" file. I'm not sure 100 percent that's the right name, but u should be able to tell which it is. Edited January 11, 2017 by Smok
Ala13_Super6_1 Posted January 11, 2017 Author Posted January 11, 2017 When doing that, it closes and gives me this error: ERROR: The system could not find the specified registry key or value.
Urra Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 (edited) When doing that, it closes and gives me this error: ERROR: The system could not find the specified registry key or value. I believe that the file should be run when editor itself is closed. It says that with the editor closed? Very strange. Edited January 11, 2017 by Smok
Ala13_Super6_1 Posted January 11, 2017 Author Posted January 11, 2017 Yes, the editor is closed when I run the file.
Habu Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 When doing that, it closes and gives me this error: ERROR: The system could not find the specified registry key or value. How do you install the game ? Is it a real install, or a copy from a previous install ? The registry key is created when you installed the game, so if you don't have it, there is a problem.

Uninstall / reinstall fixed it https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/19852-mission-editor-kaput/?p=312685
