I'm making a battle-damaged village (for - hopefully - an upcoming scripted campaign).

At the moment, I'm using the "Command Damage" MCU to "ruin-ize" the buildings a couple of seconds after the mission starts. I've done a bit of testing, but not a great deal. Being lazy, I was wondering if anyone else already has.

The Damage MCU has three settings - minor, major and complete. So far, I see no difference between them as far as villages, industrial buildings and most "blocks" are concerned. Has anyone discovered if there are any differences with the settings? Perhaps the number of structures damaged, etc...

(Also, has anyone found a way to "paint" new roads onto the map? Almost definitely not, but I thought I'd ask!)

Cheers.

Swallow, the command Damage is good for action, for what you want, you have to use the damage in the propertie of the Object. You have to increment by 1000 by line (if i remember).

So if you want to do 3000 damages point, write 3 lines of 1000 points. And check the Object you should see damage.

Keep in mind that there are not a graphic damage for each 1000 pts of damage. There are only a few graphic damage which can change with the type of object.

Excellent info, Habu! Many thanks.

[i fell down the ME rabibit hole this morning. I started doing the mission last night. Some time  after 2 AM I finally checked the time and found I had to go to bed, Then I got up early-ish to get in some more time before the kids started whinging about "parenting" and rubbish like that... Three hours later, I was checking wind speeds, cloud settings and fuel levels. Tweak and test, tweak and test... The kids got their own breakast! They're still grumpy about it, but now a daughter has fired up Sims 4... Sigh.]

Further to Habu's note, the "Damage" section on pg. 218 of the IL-2 Sturmovik Mission Editor and Multiplayer Server Manual gives details on how to set the damage to different parts of the structure of an object.
