Lord_Pyro Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 6) Will there be implemented "multi crew"? Yes, you can fly together in multiplayer on the multi-seat airplane. Ok but does that include a pilotseperated bombingoperator? In RoF the pilot has to fly the plane and aim the bombs simultaneously but clod achieved a great success in seperating theese tasks (like they were in reality).

79_vRAF_Friendly_flyer Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Check out this Subforum at the ROF-Forum. It has alot of good threads about special areas of mapmaking: http://riseofflight.com/Forum/viewforum.php?f=348 I found some threads about new maps in the making, but non describing the process or the tools. Am I just blind?
SR-F_Winger Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Consider your product bought. Like i did in ROF i will support this project as well. Just with less criticism and blames:P Winger
BMA_FlyingShark Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Indeed, great news and nice to read that the map will be so big. ~S~
wiseblood Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) I strongly recommend reading the russian forums through google translate. Check this update out: Yes, unfortunately, in this first week of steam donkey unpleasant tinge. I don't know what I did before I found this. Edited December 22, 2012 by wiseblood
AndyJWest Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 in this first week of steam donkey unpleasant tinge I suspect that Loft has been playing RoF, and has issues with the rate of climb of the R.E.8 when carrying any sort of bombload worth bothering to take off with. To be fair though, 'week' is an exaggeration. It is entirely possible to take off at dawn, and arrive at your desired altitude over the target before it gets dark that day - but only in Northern latitudes, and during June or July...
Hoots Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 And don't forget andy, your desired altitude had better be preeeety low...
Rodolphe Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 (edited) ... Thanks Freycinet, Hey just noticed that I didn't put any legend with that map. So basicaly it shows the position of the Heeresgruppe B, around mid November 1942 with multiple red arrows added for the Russian Army counter-offensive Uranus. The orange frame represent the "What-If BoS Map" based on LOFT 's Developer Diary 2 Quote . 20) What is the length of the map from west to east and from north to south? It is known that the bombing groups of Luftwaffe in August 1942 flew on Stalingrad from afar, such as KG27 flew from the airfield Kursk. Then there is a map should be large, mission should be long (not as in Stalingrad map for "IL-2", where Pitomnik was on the west end of the map). If you make airfield Kursk, then get on the map and Kharkov and Saratov. We are preparing a map from east to west length of 360 km (Tatsinskaya - Stupino / Kapustin Yar) and north-south 230 km (Kletskaya - Kotelnikovo). We would like to reproduce the story as accurately as possible, but of course some simplification is possible due to technical limitations. Add a bleu frame of the original 2001 "IL2 Sturmovik Stalingrad Map" to compare with. The original 2001 "IL2 Sturmovik Stalingrad Map". Freycinet Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 A fascinating map for sure, it will be great to fly over...
AndyJWest Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 Another useful map, from Wikipedia: There are more maps, etc in the Wikipedia article on the Battle of Stalingrad: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalingrad_(battle)
6BLBird-Dog Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 Will the New Map have all stationary buildings ,bridges etc fixed or will they have to be loaded like RoF from a different file. If so will the number of objects effect the ability to load missions ,what would be the min or max number and if loading Ai Air/Ground/Sea that are moving will there be a limit to the numbers and if so what. Thanks

1CGS LukeFF Posted January 4, 2013 1CGS Posted January 4, 2013 'R' is for reconnaissance. RE8s carried bombs plenty enough during the war, and you know that.

Another useful map, from Wikipedia: There are more maps, etc in the Wikipedia article on the Battle of Stalingrad: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalingrad_(battle) so we talk'en this area? Hmm both of those maps resemble the IL2 map more... That speculative map posted by Rodolphe looks very nice!
