=WH=PangolinWranglin Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Just listen to this Argus engine. How could you possibly say no now? I watched the video but my mind kept think it should sound like a high pitched "wwwweeeeeeee" sound.

6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Here is Kermit Weeks flying a Piece of Female Empowerment. Even sounds like a Sowing Machine:
No601_Swallow Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 No Supercharger, so why would it? Weeeeell... 'L' whining 2.0? Now I have a mission in life - to become astonishingly rich so I can get myself a Storch. It takes off in about 15 metres, seems to have a stall speed similar to my old Granddad in his zimmer frame. Just wonderful! It goes without saying that BoX needs this right now. The Heerergeschictliches Museum here in Vienna has one. I wonder if they would be willing to sell it...

I would love to build or restore a Po-2 to Airworthy Status, if possible with M-11 or Rotec R-3600. It shouldn't be too difficult to port Plans and everything into CATIA or any other CAD Program and Precision build one from Scratch. I'll soon have my Glider and Motor Licenses and maybe even my Bachelor of Engineering and that would be an amazing Project. Edited January 1, 2017 by 6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann

6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 (edited) Next stop: Aachen! My current Project is this Bird: Oberlerchner Job-15 180/2, hasn't run in 4 years, hasn't flown in 6. (Unfortunately the Pics of the Bird's Nest in the Engine are lost.) She is a better Tow Plane than the DR400, and that is quite a high Mark to beat. People that have chartered her called her their little "Schlepp 109". (And you can see the left Half of my body in one Pic) And the thing I fly the most: 47000+ Take-Offs and Landings, 8000+ hours and whole bunch of those with me at the Controls. Also Put roughly 40 hours of Work into that bird this December alone. Edited January 1, 2017 by 6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann 2

I think you are right, it would not be easy but if you was to build a replica ww2 era plane this must be one of the simplest to build, love those exposed control wires . Easiest thing in the world to inspect and maintain operational.
Seacondor Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 I'm for both of these because it is good to have a balanced theatre. I have always been a big fan of the Storch being the first plane I build for CFS2 and CFS3 There really is a lot you can do with it that you can't with normal planes. It had one of the highest survival rate of all the German planes because the slow flight confused the attacking planes and you can easily fly in forests etc. That is of course if they get the flight envelope right.
6./ZG26_Gielow Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 If Russian side want to haul cargo around and keep game historically accurate, we should ask for drivable trucks. We could also have a truck race track with enemy units bombing the road :D Flak trucks would be great too !!

I guess the 1000 tons of Cargo hauled by Li-2 at Stalingrad and 5200 casualties evacuated along with critical fuel supplied to very forward units during the Counterattack does not count as historically accurate Li-2's were very active at Stalingrad, even when you do not include the Bombing raids on important bridges, the German positions in the city and airfields and only consider their pure transport role Cheers Dakpilot Edited January 2, 2017 by Dakpilot 1

YoYo Posted January 3, 2017 Author Posted January 3, 2017 I'm glad too see how many of us want to have some of more kind of missions and dedicated for this airplanes. Fingers crossed for Po-2 and Fi-156. 1

We couldn't just shoot a wheel off and then watch them faceplant when landing. Cheers Dakpilot

Well so the JU 52 was totally waste of time, let me tell you that your ignorance is painful to see, if you really believe JU 52 was the main transport for German war industry . With your reasoning you would play with trains , horses and walk 3000 Km And the arrogance is quite familiar after all this time, the tone have been from the axis side, Everything you got need to improve and all planes from russian side are in need to get slower , less effective. And now any request from that shall be cut down with less accurate historical knowledge. Love this Edited January 3, 2017 by 216th_LuseKofte 2

Lusekofte Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 The overall arrogance is getting to me... Sorry
Feathered_IV Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 The overall arrogance is getting to me... Sorry Easy there big fella. Besides, a driveable supply truck would be an interesting challenge, particularly in MP.
Gambit21 Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 I would love to design a Storch campaign. I like the challenge of designing an immersive experience without combat - it's all about ambiance. This I enjoyed with the old editor, and it's even more fun now with the capabilities of this new version which is quite a bit more powerful. Pretty much everything I used to wish I could do...I can now do. So yeah I'm all about the Storch, recon, VIP transport, rescue missions...that visceral feel of flying around it little more than a box kite - bring it on. If the the Devs need reference I have a fully restored one very close by. http://www.flyingheritage.com/TemplatePlane.aspx?contentId=15 1
curiousGamblerr Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 Wasn't it Spear that fled or something in a storch near the end of the war and crashed famously? I have a vague memory of a high level Nazi crashing in a storch at the chaotic end.
Gambit21 Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 I've never read about that one - I know Hartmann and company used to use it for various errands.
curiousGamblerr Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 (edited) I'll try to find the relevant passage in my TIME History of the Second World War tomorrow and share more info! Edited January 4, 2017 by 19.GIAP//curiousGamblerr

Finkeren Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 You're probably thinking of Hanna Reitsch flying Ritter von Greim into the besieged city of Berlin in April 1945.
curiousGamblerr Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 You're probably thinking of Hanna Reitsch flying Ritter von Greim into the besieged city of Berlin in April 1945. I'm yet to have a chance to check my book but you could be right!
LFL-EightyPLUS Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Yes!! certainly nice planes, and with the PO-2 you could design some very cool scenarios: Night bombing!!
Medicated Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 I would buy the Storch, PO-2 and Li-2 (also a Chaika...). I think all of these add different dimensions and would be fun to play. Also, with the upcoming Field Marshall mode, they could work scout planes into that easily to give more and/or better information. That way teams that use the scout planes would find them quite beneficial. 1
Sim Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 A Storch would add a new mission type - cable laying On a more serious note - would buy any of those two aircraft immediately. There were so many Po-2s at the front.. And Storch would be an incredible aircraft to have in BoX engine - think of the ground handling and STOL characteristics. You could just land as a helicopter flying into the wind.
Lusekofte Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 You're probably thinking of Hanna Reitsch flying Ritter von Greim into the besieged city of Berlin in April 1945. Yes she did , but she took off and left again. did she not?
Finkeren Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Yes she did , but she took off and left again. did she not? I'm pretty sure they were hit by AAA and crash landed (von Greim was wounded), but since Greim had been summoned to Berlin in the first place to take over from Göring as head of the Luftwaffe, they had to fly off again soon after.
ST_ami7b5 Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 (edited) My vote is for Fw-189. Same here Fw-189 & Po-2 ... and Storch Edited January 5, 2017 by ST_ami7b5
