Gambit21 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 I need the AI to take off say to the west, then land from the west. Currently the way airfields work they can only only land from the opposite direction from which they took off. The main reason I need this is trees on the Moscow map - aircraft will hit them if landing from the the opposite direction that they take off. So...I assume airfields can be activated/deactivated just like any other MCU. Then I'm assuming the best work around is to deactivate the airfield after the player takes off with his AI flight, and activate another with the waypoints in the opposite direction configuration. Unless I'm missing something.
JimTM Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 (edited) Try putting the land command on the opposite end of the runway from where your AI plane is and point the command in the opposite direction to the plane. I'm not sure if it will conflict with the airfield direction, but it's worth a try. If it fails you can try your idea of using two airfields in opposite directions. See "Manage Airfield Availability" on pg. 131 of the IL-2 Sturmovik Mission Editor and Multiplayer Server Manual. Edited December 29, 2016 by JimTM
samson Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 My guess the initial idea of activating/disactivating airfields as MCUs was right direction.
andyw248 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 (edited) Make sure to set wind velocity to 0 kph, although it would be interesting to see how AI planes manage tailwind landings Edited December 29, 2016 by andyw248
