kraut1 Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Hi All, Beginner question about single player offline missions: I would like get some warnings about enemy planes without watching the symbols on the map. Is it possible to define a wingman as spotter with e.g: radius 4000m and connect translator:Subtitle that gives a subbtitle e.gt.: "Danger, enemy planes closing!"? Should be a simple, primitive solution that can be added to PWCG Mission. Best regards
JimTM Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 See "Detect the Proximity of Objects to One Another" on pg. 87 of the IL-2 Sturmovik Mission Editor and Multiplayer Server Manual.
Gambit21 Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 (edited) Interesting. I think you would need to activate and deactivate check zones along the player's route. So only one check zone is active at a time. So you'd need to layer them. One checks for the player and activates the check zone that is looking for enemies. Those in turn linked to the text MCU. Maybe there's another way. Oops - there's the better way as per Jim! Edited December 22, 2016 by Gambit21

kraut1 Posted December 23, 2016 Author Posted December 23, 2016 Did you trigger the proximity trigger to start it detecting objects (step 4 in the manual)? This was my mistake. Many thanks for your help! I will try to use it for getting informations by wingmen / escorted Bombers. Best regards

kraut1 Posted December 23, 2016 Author Posted December 23, 2016 Hi All, Current state of my attempt to get Information via subtitle and not to use the plane Icons on the map: (I like IL2 1946 Command & Control by Checkyersix) Working test Mission: -4 proximity Triggers for bigger distances to enemys with subtitles: "Jaegerleitstelle Feindflugzeuge in xx km Entfernung" (30km, 20km, 10km, 5km), (translated: "Ground Control: Enemy planes in XXkm range" -Proximity Trigger for warning by wingmen of near enemy planes, (only if a (german) fellow plane is closer than 1900m: The Proximity Trigger that activates the warning subtitle is activated by another Trigger if a Axis planes are closer than 1900m and deactivated if the Axis planes farther than 2000m Best regards
