It's official and it's amazing!

Question ... in the TFS August 25th video that shows all the current enhancements to Cliffs of Dover (no longer will I use CLoD), how many of the improved elements ... map textures, clouds, updated reticles, visual and sound effects, etc ... will be incorporated in the merged updates version available soon on Steam vs when 5.0 comes out later in the year?

Thanks!

Incredible. Way to go Team Fusion. Way to go Jason.

Thanks for making our hobby that much better and for "keeping the dream alive".

Hi Smink. We can't say at the moment in all honesty. v4.312 will be the same as you currently have (if you have our patches installed). v4.5 will have some content added, probably some visual effects and fixes (possibly things like mirrors that work, landscape textures, etc, etc - all as yet to be decided) and maybe a 2-3 free aircraft (yes, all to be decided). First thing we need to do is look at the Source Code and see where some of those bugs are hiding and how and how long it will take to fix them :)

We are on it though!

I'd just like to say on behalf at all of us at Team Fusion Simulations, a big thanks to Jason and Nikolay for their support during this process. Yes it's been complicated and we appreciate that the community wanted the deal to be signed shortly after announcing it, but you have to realise this is a real deal with real legal binding contracts and in big business this means all the ticks and crosses have to be checked and re-checked!

Well, it's all done and dusted and now we are pleased to move forward and be able to work as part of this huge team and community with a common love for WW2 combat flight-sims.

Here's to the future of CloD :)

Cheers, Mysticpuma

I was quite late to clod, only buying it a couple of years ago and instantly putting on the team fusion mod and then deciding the pits were the best I'd ever seen so I've never played it in vanilla form. It's an excellent game with the mod update and I'm sure it will only continue to get better with more time being put into it. I prefer Il2 bos, but it's fantastic that we have all these fantastic flight sim options at the moment and I do take to the skies in clod still. There almost seems to be a flight sim to suit all tastes now. I'm certainly going to be keeping my eyes open to see what the paid content looks like and future updates.

I only ask one question - Why the heck do I have the band of brothers theme in my head now.

Well done. Like I said this a few days ago....

Is there going to be a project schedule of dates and content published or do we get to guess what we are getting like Christmas?

When are you going to take my money for preorder??

Bloody marvellous chaps. Congrats and looking forward to what is to come.

:good: - and now the basar is open? There are several features missing right from the beginning and now there is a new situation! So I think it not asked to much to reconsider the inclusion of features some, a lot - no - most of us are missing! As there are the Dornier-bombers, several iconic floating-planes, the Defiant, the Fairley Battle, the Whitley and the Hampden, the Bücker-Trainers, some gliders, at least three of the contemporary dutch and french planes, a civil airline conversion "Europe in Peace 1942", all European aircraft carrier projects until 1943 and for very special, but often requested purposes the highly detailed representation of WAAFs and Blitzmädels taking a sun-bath at the backyard of their barracks!

So happy about this. In a world full of bad news this tidbit brings a smile to my lips.

I did always believe that COD "IS" a great game but was never given a real chance to mature to its real potential, maybe now?! Let us hope an thank you for this great and wonderful news. :salute:

Interesting news. Haven't  played CloD since maybe a couple weeks after it was released, was terribly disappointed with it at the time. I'll definitely give it a look again once they get it  patched up.

This makes me happy in the pants. I wonder if they will include the 65th FS P-47D-2-RE's, VS-41's SBD-3's or the 27th FS P-38F-1-LO's from Operation Torch. So many planes to add!

Steady on, old chap! Let's start with, say, functioning search lights! Baby steps, baby steps...

(Then maybe some of the "deep down" issues, like FMB deficits like different types of triggers, the contortions mission builders have to go through just to have runway starts, erm, erm, the weird distinction between "buildings" and... Bugger! It's been too long! Time to fix my install now I'm on Windows 10, and fire up that FMB once again if only to remind myself of why I spent all those years (!) tearing my hair out!)

MP - many thanks for your comments on this forum! May the patience on Job remain with you guys at TF! Coolest dudes in Simworld .

Oh man!  I am so jazzed about the prospect of the North Africa add-on.  I've been wanting some quality sim to tackle the MTO for so long, and was bitterly disappointed when first the old IL-2 and then BoS/BoX decided to go to the PTO instead (even though I did enjoy some of the carrier ops aspects of old IL-2's PTO implementation and am looking forward to seeing what the BoS/BoX team will do with it when they get there, too).  Definitely going to be picking up another copy of CoD when the North Africa package is available, if not before (can't find my old copy, but I'd probably just buy another one anyway, to support the team for moving in this remarkable direction).

Congrats! Haven't touched CloD in years but once the official patch comes out I'm back in, thank you!

Great move. This is another positive development for the FS community. I've no idea how many copies of Cliffs are out there waiting to be "reborn" but it would seem there is a lot of player base waiting to be exploited with future updates and add ons. I hope it won't get me in trouble for saying it but if someday the FMs were all standardized in both CoD and the BoX world, I'd be thrilled. But that's just my opinion.

Great news, and a good deal faster than I was expecting too.  Well done!  :salute:

Having a "feel good and it just works" steam patch right there is such a positive thing. Hopefully it brings many new and old players back not only into this sim but into simming again period. I don't expend it will be enormous numbers but the allure of a western front environment with iconic types and a very nice package to boot should float the boat of a few more brits at least.

A few reviews around the web and on some special interest sites to raise awareness wouldn't hurt either but what all titles need are good SP campaigns to. I would guess the majority of the player base do not play online afterall.  Hopefully that is also something that can be addressed.

As clear as if it was today I remember the day when CLOD died and Il-2 was sold. I posted in the forum that “I put my trust and hope in the modding community” to develop and care for CLOD, a great deal of ridicule of this was posted and even a stern rejection of the idea by a ‘senior owner’.

Today I stand as victor, well not really, I didn’t have to do anything just waited for ingenious people to work it out for me and then enjoy the fruit of their labour, and now hopefully it will benefit financially the owner and labourers of this wonderful sim. I hope Oleg rejoice with us.

Pilots!

You can discuss this topic here in this area of the forum.

Original Announcement Here.

Jason

HELLO JASON, I have been flying in both simulators for many years, an important point I am observing is that the physics of the two simulators are a bit different, I think there must be an urgent correction on both sides, so that the virtual pilots do not feel a difference when flying , I think we have to reach a balance point so when we play any of them there can not be that feeling of difference. It's one of the points that we find a bit strange.
Thank you and sorry for the writing errors, I'm from Brazil and I used a translator.

Back then when CoD was launched, I was one of its first users. I loved this sim despite all its initial deficiencies and the massive criticism by the community. There is no CoD-based SP-campaign I haven't played several times. But when the whole project was taken over by a group of (not commercial) enthusiast and the first TF-patches were not Win 8/10 compatible, I changed into the BOX-camp.
This agreement with 1C/777 marks a new era - for me a rebirth of CoD. I really can't wait for the new North Africa scenario. I'm slowly tired of the eastern front and the Pacific battles are of little interest to me. I know a whole lot of people who made similar experiences - especially Western Europeans.

Great news. Time to get Cliffs on to the new rig and wait with bated breath! Really looking forward to the Med; so many interesting aircraft and scenarios.

Cheers.

Great news, loads of opportunities in this scenario

And a good excuse to go fly one of the SAAF squadrons, preferably Spits Vb/c or IX!
