Mmaruda Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Might be something to do with the firewall or you need to open some ports. 1
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Salutations, I have a consistent problem launching IL2. By 'consistent' I mean every time I try to get into multiplay with the green [ENTER] button I receive the following messages.... every time. #1 No connection with authorizing sever. #2 Your connection to Master Sever was temporarily lost. Check your internet connection. Firstly, my internet connection is fine. Also, I can start the game OFFLINE. Now here is the weird part... if I click on New User Registration, I can then get into multiplayer. I've been a registered user since I purchased the game. Is there something on my end that needs to be done. This loading situation is annoying and I have enough annoyance attempting to learn to use the mission editor. try pressing several times? It's an issue with GFExerience
Thad Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Salutations, I will try pressing it several times. I can successfully run my multiplayer Dsever with no such problems. I don't think it has anything to do with ports or firewalls... but I'll look into it.
Willy__ Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Salutations, I will try pressing it several times. I can successfully run my multiplayer Dsever with no such problems. Habu Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted Today, 01:56 Salutations, I will try pressing it several times. I can successfully run my multiplayer Dsever with no such problems. I don't think it has anything to do with ports or firewalls... but I'll look into it. As Jager Staiger asked, do you use the same account for Dserver and the game ?
banPilot Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 I'm a new owner of the game, I tested the performance during Marinovka Intercept full length mission: 115 fps on average, 64 fps 1% low and 51 fps 0.1% low. All settings maxed out at 1440p with a 6700k 4.5Ghz ad a stock AMD Fury X.
Leutnant_Artur Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Now I have a problem after latest update. https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/26949-mouse-axis-menu/ I hope anyone can help.
Thad Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 (edited) Sorry to ask, but are you using the same account to open the DServer and play the game ? No, I am not. Oh, I was having this problem before I got my DServer account. Salutations, I will try pressing it several times. I can successfully run my multiplayer Dsever with no such problems. I don't think it has anything to do with ports or firewalls... but I'll look into it. Yes, if I keep trying to launch multiplay, it eventually starts. Still annoying. =GM=GJL2 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 really nice performance gain of dx11 update. but still got a problem of fps drop on map of Stalingrad multiplayer. when flying over some airfield at low altitude, fps will drop to 35 immediately in cockpit, its so bad...but in external veiw it will back to steady 60...seems still got something imperfect. I got gtx980m i7 6700hq.
Ala13_knightcrow Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Hello folks, I've been trying to push in NVIDIA forums to get somebody from NVIDIA involved in finding a solution for those of us with a 780. This is what I've been told: If we want NVIDIA staff to be working on a driver implementation compatible with il2 and 780's, 1C developers and customers are encouraged to provide them with technical information at http://surveys.nvidia.com/index.jsp?pi=6e7ea6bb4a02641fa8f07694a40f8ac6 Kind regards, Ala13_knightcrow Hello, Could somebody confirm whether anybody is providing info to NVIDIA labs' staff regarding the problem involving 780 and updated drivers, making il-2 crashing to desktop? thx in advance
-TBC-AeroAce Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Hello, Could somebody confirm whether anybody is providing info to NVIDIA labs' staff regarding the problem involving 780 and updated drivers, making il-2 crashing to desktop? thx in advance You should start a thread titled " Calling All 780 Owners" or something along them lines and promote your problem there!!!!!!!!
1CGS Han Posted December 30, 2016 Author 1CGS Posted December 30, 2016 New Scripted Campaign game mode and Developer Diary #142 have provided result much earlier than we have expected and hoped for. Let me introduce a new scripted campaign from Samson - "The Cold Winter" (which is a "free presentation" of a campaign created by Vadson in IL-2 1946): https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/26957-cold-winter-scripted-sp-campaign/ 3
Bando Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Thanks for the link. It's great the campaigns are rolling in now The sim really gets underway with some speed in this way (well that is, for the SP loving SOB's like myself)
Jade_Monkey Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Great news indeed! There will be at least 5 user made campaigns within 3 months. SP pilots will be very pleased. I have no doubt this will be very good for BOX in general.
Ala13_knightcrow Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 (edited) You should start a thread titled " Calling All 780 Owners" or something along them lines and promote your problem there!!!!!!!! So it seems 780's are left hunging around,... it seems to be nobody's problem... 1C says it's NVIDIA faulty drivers implementation.... NVIDIA labs (http://surveys.nvidi...8f07694a40f8ac6) needs info to be provided by 1C & 780's owners... ...reverting the drivers version, it's not the way to proceed, new versions appear to optimize new games, and fix existing issues, and il-2 users want to also get benefited from them. Moreover, i'm not only flying il-2 but also other flightsims and games. It's not a matter of going back and forth with drivers versions depending on the game to be launched. It seems 780's owners who are suffering this issue are being told that We're the only ones impacted... so it our problem.... Taking AeroAce recomendation into account I've just open a new thread: Calling 780's owners to find a real solution to update 2006 and NVIDIA drivers Edited December 30, 2016 by Ala13_knightcrow
SYN_Mike77 Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 From the thread that is posted above, sneaksie reports that the devs have contacted Nvidia and they (Nvidia) are working on a permanent fix.

FlyingFrogOberon_D Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Hi guys, I have a major issue with the update. Think that it is due to DirectX11. When I launch IL2 BOS, I have the following window: Title = D3D_ERROR Message = Can not create Direct3D device: DXGI_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED I flight on windows 10 with a NVIDIA Geforce GTX 260 (perhaps an old graphic card) Thanks for your most valuable help, I wish to fly again. AstrixAU Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 (edited) astrix_au, on 23 Dec 2016 - 12:29, said: I limited mine in windowed mode at 120 unfortunately there is no 144fps option. Why would you do that? G-sync for sure and probably freesync is made to govern and match fps with monitor refresh rate - so if they are working like they should it is impossible to get higher fps that refresh rate. BTW fps < moniotr refresh rate = stutters fps > moniotr refresh rate = tearing Turns out setting 144fps in the startup.cfg does work, so now I set it to 144. I assumed it didn't work as when I checked the settings after manually making at 144 the setting still shows 120 in game, the last setting used but testing in game it was capping at 144 . Edited January 2, 2017 by astrix_au
AstrixAU Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 (edited) banPilot found a temporary fix to get freesync to work in fullscreen, toggle blur reduction on and off. This restarts freesync during the game and it then works!! https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/26782-bug-freesync-not-working-fullscreen-2006c/ Edited January 2, 2017 by astrix_au

CZEforzamike Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 After new DX, nothing change in performance! Maybe worse a bit... Game is running about 20 FPS, when i turn of grass (in config) it is about 25 max...Screw this - i must buy new PC! It is inevitable...

Basically, anyone with a fairly up to date (in the last few years) PC will probably have hardware that was designed to take advantage of the greater efficiency of DX11. If the system is older there likely won't be any boost... Maybe that's happened here?
SOLIDKREATE Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Been getting 57-60 fps all day. Performance has increased for me. My settings are in ultra too.1920 x 1080. I have a 3.4GHz i7 with a 2GB GTX 1070

Mayor_Wang Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Ok so there are a couple outstanding issues that the guys will fix after their Xmas break. 1. Aiming Help does not work for Joystick mode, only mouse. 2. The smoke has a green tint to it if HDR off. And there will be other odds and ends I am sure, but the main battle to make this update playable for all is accomplished. We'll continue to polish it as we move to the next big steps in the plan. Jason Thanks for mentioning the green smoke issue Jason! I'm back from vacation and able to dedicate some hours to testing--and I have good news that will return me and any other GTX 1080 users to a highly enjoyable experience. As Jason notes, turning on HDR should eliminate the weird green smoke tint and occlusion issues--HOWEVER, you also need to have your graphics set to 'ultra.' For me, the game is playable either way, but it was only after selecting 'ultra' in my graphics setting that the green smoke disappeared. You may have to play with gamma correction to get the 'look' you like. I want to add my gratitude to the development team for this last update. Although I have been blessed to now have a decent income which can support my hobbies, I very much remember the days when I was limping along on an outdated rig. The fact that the devs managed to fulfill performance requirements on such a variety of rigs is truly impressive. Happy New Year to players/devs alike.
EisenWaffel Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 When will the nvidia profile get updated for DX11? 1
ShamrockOneFive Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Hi ShamrockOneFive, i have Dell Inspiron laptop /Interl Core i7-3630QM 2.4 Ghz / 8GB RAM / Nvidia GeForce GT 650 M / WIN 10 every software and system is up to date... I thing that my laptop time si over, must buy new one... It's certainly not bad for a laptop.... But laptops are never great flight simulator machines in my experience. I'm thinking its the GT 650M that is dragging your performance down. It seems to benchmark well playing games like Word of WarCraft/Diablo III but much less playing Crysis engine benchmarks. The mobile parts are typically hamstrung by lower power/thermal ranges. If you can... build a new tower PC. It'll be great
coconut Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Late congrats to to the devs, but I'm liking this version. I was away when it came out and could not test it on my desktop PC, but now I have. I can run at Ultra 1080p triple-screen and run at 60 FPS in the air, less on the ground (but who cares...). That's the kind of perf I had in single-screen 1080p before. In single-screen with the new version, my GPU is running at most at 40%.
1stCL/Punkey Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 A few hours in to this version and I'm thinking the removal of the particle effect optimisation has dragged me back to my old stutter issues. Really hope they can be brought back soon. Also I seem to see banding on the sky when settings are ultra, this shouldn't be the case should it? (might just be my eyes of course) Not only your eyes. The banding is terrible. Totaly decreased game feeling
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 (edited) I too have banding that was not present before. Others I know do not have it. I use the Deband part of ReShade to correct it. One other issue that I and others are seeing is flashing grass while on the ground. I'm sure these will be taken care of. Edited January 5, 2017 by 12.OIAE_Stick-95

SCG_Space_Ghost Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 (edited) I am sorely disappointed by the revocation of the new shaders, the return of banding, etc. but I have faith the team will reintroduce and further tweak/optimize these aspects when they don't break the game for a lot of players and they have time in the development cycle to do so. sukk741 Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 devs worked great! Now go and get some sleep. You deserve it

gnomechompsky Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Because of the damn AMD problem with particles we had to remove one of our optimizations so that could affect performance a little. Blame AMD please, not us. There are other developers complaining of the same issue. Jason So can this optimisation be kept for nvidia and disabled for AMD rather than both?

It's no big deal, happy to wait for the devs to fix when they have time, I was just worried it was a problem with my new PC.
