Reshade/SweetFX Help

Hi all

 

I'm ready to try out Reshade/SweetFX for my game, so I clicked on the Reshade + SweetFX 2.0 link. On the page however, it says that Reshade + SweetFX is "deprecated" and that Reshade 3.0 is recommended.  Which one should I use, Reshade 3.0, or Reshade + SweetFX 2.0? Or is there another combination, like Reshade 3.0 + SweetFX 2.0?

I'm interested in this as well.In Winter maps I find myself "snow blind much of the time , but particularly in landings & takeoff when the edges of the runway are nearly impossible to see.

I have Reshade v2.0.3f1.  I tried v3.04 but could not get it to work.  There is another thread somewhere on this.

I used Reshade 3 and works well for me. It's easy to install and you can make all modifications in-game, so you see all the changes.

 

After installing, you will be asked if you want to download the FX. Say yes.

After you play around with the effects that you like, I recommend deleting the ones you aren't using. It will speed up the loading time of the game significantly.

 

To be exact, only delete the files that end in ".fx" and not the ones ending in ".fxh".

They should be in this folder:  IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\bin\game\reshade-shaders

What effects do you use? The list is long and somewhat bewildering.

If you use this for the first time, I'd load all the effects in and one by one try them out.

In game you can see the effects immediately, so it'll take some minutes, but then you'd have the exact thing you need.

After that you know for all subsequent games what you need.

All it takes is some time.

Hi AP .   I've just started with Reshade 3 and boy does it have options!

 

At the moment I'm only using two.  They are SMAAFX and Vibrance.  It does this to my game;

 

 

 

SMAAFX settings are;

 

Detection type = Colour Edge Detection

 

Edge detection threshold = 0.200

 

Max search steps = 50

 

Max search steps diagonal = 6

 

Corner rounding = 5

 

Vibrance settings are;

 

Vibrance 0.600

 

RGB balance = all three on 1.000

 

Being a DangerDog, I've so far managed to avoid reading the instructions

I'm interested in the sharpening features as I've used Lumasharpen to good effect in RoF but in BoS it just does not seem subtle enough.  Must have a look at Selective Sharpen.

I will try you settings. I have reloaded the program a bunch of times now.It is fun to play with and there are so many settings that I could play around with it until the turn of the century and still have more testing to do.

Here is what I am using right now (of course that is going to change ) Please keep me updated on whatever you may settle on.

It really is a good program, Its  the only one I have been able to get to work with BOS.

Hello guys! Check out this profile for reshade 3.07 . Copy to bin/game and select from reshade ingame program

This makes graphics look sharpen and reduce blurry effect. No fps impact..



Download effects when reshade installer asks.
Make sure lumasharpen, tonemap, curves and vibrance are selected

I use Insert to switch on/off and " numpad / " to select menu. It´s highly recommended to disable sharpen from game setup   you may want to change gamma correction from game setup because My monitor is set to theater mode (ASUS) its a little bit darken than usually

Hoping you still have the Reshader executable (needed for installation/update), start this program and the you have to point

what game is supposed to be modified. Here you will be asked, if you want to update or remove reshade. Pretty simple.
