J2_Trupobaw Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 (edited) Battle of Britain isn't on their list but it would be nice. As would Normandy 1944, Okinawa, North Africa, Italy, etc. We've got a long list! :D Porting RoF Channel Map to BoK technology, updating airfields to service WW2 planes and releasing the thing as free bonus map, Wielkie Luki/Odessa style, would give mission makers instant tool for Channel Front 1941/42 missions. No Battle of Britain (map's to small, 1/4 of CloD map, wrong planeset), but small bomber raids and fighter skirmishes for sake of fighter skirmishes typical of 41/42. By time of BoK release we would have Spitfire Mk.V, 109 F2/F4 and FW 190A3, plus bombers. Enough for coop Circus operation, Circus-styled MP map, free hunt over Kent equivalent for Germans or rudimentary PWCG Channel Front career. Biggest problem would be all towns looking like in 1919, but "cost effective" only gets you so far... Edited October 24, 2016 by Trupobaw 2
Trooper117 Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 I'm all for the adding of collector planes on a regular basis... This would hopefully flesh out already in game theatres with much needed historical aircraft of that time frame. It would also keep fans of those theatres interested who are not really interested in the current theatre being produced.
Jade_Monkey Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 (edited) They are working towards that. Kuban in 2017, Midway in 2018-19, etc. It does take time for a small dev to work through the content necessary to cover a very expansive scenario. The small number of aircraft is a problem but as you can see in this (and previous dev updates), they are working on making efforts towards improving the AI's CPU hit so that more aircraft and vehicles can be displayed at one time. Which is great. Time skip is back. It now goes to 4X. Though not all CPUs can handle that right now. Battle of Britain isn't on their list but it would be nice. As would Normandy 1944, Okinawa, North Africa, Italy, etc. We've got a long list! :D Time skip actually goes up to x8 in game and x16 in replays, which is great. As a side note, since number of planes and timeskip was brought up, i am working on a SP mission with 20 planes and the timeskip will crawl back to ~x1 as soon as the enemy formation spawns. So, like you said, it really depends a lot on whats going on at the time, and how many planes need to be simulated. The improvements are very welcome. I would also support the idea of converting the ROF channel map as a bone to the community. Perhaps once mods are introduced someone other than the devs can do this. SYN_Mike77 Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 RoF channel map will make even more sense after the Spitfire MkV is released, slap an RAF skin on and there you go!

Although at the moment a conversion of the Tarnopol map might make more sense. This would give us a second map to use the BoM planeset. I wonder if this could be done by the community when the mod mode is added to the game.
Dakpilot Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Both Tarnopol and Channel could warrant some investigation as basis for Mod maps How popular was "Inspiration Island" from RoF personally I used it often for a quick dogfight and bit of fun and for testing could easily 'double' for a ''Gulf of Finland" (insert prefered northern hemisphere area here) Island Variety is the spice of life Cheers Dakpilot
Venturi Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 I applaud your modeling of the spitfire, using reference drawings...... looks spot on.
