=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) Edit: Simplified controls in quick mission after letting a young player try. Nothing to see here. Edited October 19, 2016 by Tripwire
Irgendjemand Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) Awesome the patchnotes. Good work. I am just a bit disappointed to still not read anything about my precious FW. But this might just be me:) EDIT: Does this "AI Fw 190 should enter uncontrollable spin less frequently (their angle of attack limit has been corrected)" mean there has something been changed in the FM of the Aircraft or only how the AI handles it? Edited October 19, 2016 by Irgendjemand
Dutchvdm Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Hi Guys, Can't play until tomorrow, but i'm curious about the cloud settings. Are they for the ME only, or is it just like ROF in the QMB as well? Thnx Martijn Small question : what is AB-1 armor please ? Good one indeed. Was asking the same question.
707shap_Srbin Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Small question : what is AB-1 armor please ? Try this. In russian, need Google translator. http://forum.il2sturmovik.ru/topic/4258-sravnenie-nemeckogo-i-sovetskogo-bronirovaniya/

I had the same thought. As i understand it, they are limiting how hard the AI will pull the stick.
BOO Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Happy to report the 110 doesnt bounce on landing. Less happy to report that, on this occasion, it was resultant from me forgetting to lower the gear cos i was all excited! Thank you for this - on spec and in time! 4
I./JG1_Baron Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Nice patch. Very nice patch. Damn nice patch! Hell YEAH! ...can't wait to give it a try. 1
Jade_Monkey Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 5x more Ship! Awesome stuffs. The famous Volga flotilla XD The planes dont bounce anymore but im bouncing of joy!
Bando Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Thank you devs!!! Download was lightning fast :-) Great update. After a quick mission I can see that the bouncing is reduced and landing an LA5 with a lot of crosswind is such that I could keep it straight, no ground loops anymore. One happy camper here......
Eclipse4349 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) That is an impressive list of improvements and fixes! I have only scratched the surface of BOS, but I'm very impressed. When I buy BOM, I would like to do it with a direct purchase so 1C will get maximum profit, rather than buying from Steam. I have BOS on Steam, though. I read that buying BOM directly will make it available to me on Steam as it is linked to my 1C account. Will it require a separate download of BOM from 1C? Or are all the necessary files already installed through my Steam copy of BOS? I would like to buy direct, but if it will complicate things, I'll probably just buy through Steam. Saurer Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 11. Yak-1 series 69 engine characteristics corrected, now it follows the reference better (maximum speed at ground level and its turn time decreased a bit); Has this an effect on the Lagg 3 and the Pe 2 too since they use the same engine or was it a problem speciffic with the Yak?
unreasonable Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Nice balanced update with something for everybody - good to see some fine tuning on the AI - looking forwards to getting back into action soon.
SCG_motoadve Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Thanks for the patch, downloading. Am I getting this correct? We can use full power and WEP as much we want and engine wont be damaged? Just reduced back to normal? 12. Engine damage logic corrected: now an engine with a depleted time reserve at combat or other modes won't be damaged while working at normal mode afterwards;

Engine damage logic corrected: now an engine with a depleted time reserve at combat or other modes won't be damaged while working at normal mode afterwards; this would be normal gamemode. You engine will only be damaged if you keep using combat/emergency power beyond the timelimits. Obviously the engine was damaged before when running it in continuous mode AFTER using up the combat/emergency power time. Didnt realize there was such a problem as well. But nice its corrected. Finkeren Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Thanks for the patch, downloading. Am I getting this correct? We can use full power and WEP as much we want and engine wont be damaged? Just reduced back to normal? 12. Engine damage logic corrected: now an engine with a depleted time reserve at combat or other modes won't be damaged while working at normal mode afterwards; No, I think it works like this: Before 2.004, when you went over the time limit for your engine, it would start getting damaged reducing power output and eventually killing the engine altogether. Once this damage started occuring, there was no way to stop it, and your engine would invaribly die after minutes or even seconds. Now it is different: When you exceed the time limits at emergency or combat power the engine will take damage, but if you reduce manifold pressure and rpm to normal settings, this will stop any further damage from occuring and your engine will continue to function, albeit at reduced power output. 1
smink1701 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Great update from a great team! Can't wait to give it a try in a few days
CF-105 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Is it just me, or does the theme from Team America start playing when I first see a new update here?
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) Great update!!! But I am confused I thought Yak1b was being released this patch? who told you this? first beta won't be out until Late December. (Approximately) Edited October 19, 2016 by 71st_AH_Mastiff

JtD Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Lots of small, good news. I like it. Thank you for that.
Dutchvdm Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 No you can set the clouds in the QMB. Jason Even better!! Thnx Grtz Martijn
Finkeren Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 No you can set the clouds in the QMB. Jason Awesome! who told you this? first beta won't be out until Late December. (Approximately) The Yak-1b and Ju 52 aren't part of BoK and will likely be released before we get the first BoK content.
Matt Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 No, I think it works like this: Before 2.004, when you went over the time limit for your engine, it would start getting damaged reducing power output and eventually killing the engine altogether. Once this damage started occuring, there was no way to stop it, and your engine would invaribly die after minutes or even seconds. It still works that way.
Finkeren Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) It still works that way. Then I honestly can't grasp what the meaning of that change is supposed to be. Edited October 19, 2016 by Finkeren
E69_geramos109 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) There are some great changes. But... Has someone noticed a really basic physics now? In all planes i mean not only the 190. You can make cracy manouvers at slow speed keeping full control of the airplane with no effort. It is too easy i notice. Planes allways keep a neutral behaviour in all situations. Mmm like war thunder Also all the guns ate quite more powerfull. Devastating effect. I have to repeat some tests but with only the first impression on berloga seems to much. =EXPEND=Tripwire Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) Then I honestly can't grasp what the meaning of that change is supposed to be. I think maybe the confusion is a wording issue. If you exceeded the time limit for emergency/combat - running it at normal power would still end up with a timer countdown regardless of whether you backed off the power. Eventually damage would trigger even if you never moved back up into emergency power. Now it sounds like if you back off out of emergency power after exceeding your limit before damaging your engine and running the engine only at limits below this - you would not end up having the engine fail during the remaining flight. I had this happen to me only 4 nights ago in a 190 (running normal and then the engine suffered damage). Edited October 19, 2016 by Tripwire

SnowFox Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 I launch my launcher with intrepid anticipation
II/JG11_ATLAN_VR Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Only to clarify are there changes made in the FM of the Fw190A3 or only on AI side?
