I'm running TrackIR 5.4.1 on windows 7 64 bit, graphic card Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 wiyh latest Nvidia drivers

In the Battle of Stalingrad game when I spawn in a plane having TrackIR activated, almost always the screen freezes, and I have to make several attempts closing the game with the system manager and restarting again before it works. Sometimes the screen doesn't freeze but TrackIR doesn't work (only one green light on). I have no problems if I start the game without TrackIR.

Greetings from down under!!

I don't have this problem, but I do have the same set up (not sure what CPU and MOBO you use),

when you start "trackir" look in the top right hand box as there may be updates etc (little red symbol from memory)

Do you use trackir in any other game?

I use it with no problems in IL2-1946 and in Cliffs of Dover

Check your "startup.cfg" file. Located in your game IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad/data folder.

Does it look like this....

[KEY = input]
 input_map = "input.map"
 mouse_plane_control = 0
 old_trackir = 0

Same issue - TrackIR 3 Vector not recognized (no blue light on game launch).

TIR works in all other sims.

Tried both 0 and 1 for  "old_trackir = 1"

Tried removing all keybindings to "mouse" axis/keys

TIR latest version (5.4.2), with latest game update list.

Windows 7 x64

Nvidia 1060 6GB

Not sure what else to check...

Check and make sure you have admin rights set for TIR exe

Thanks for the idea, @69th_Panp.  I even tried with both TIR and IL-2 as admin, but sadly no change.

I know in 1946 I had to use "Shift-F1" to enable eg: 6DoF, but it doesn't work in BoS.

Does the camera mode matter?  Pan, snap view, etc?

Thanks.

Solved !

While the software was started before launching IL-2, the tracking was not activated (little yellow light at bottom-right in TrackIR software "status".  Once I enabled my TrackClipPro (or LED clip equivalent) ;) , the TrackIR software "status" icons had both "green" (camera connected) and "yellow" (tracking) light active -- and THEN launched the sim, everything worked.

NatualPoint support also mentioned that TrackIR 3 Vector behaves the same as newer models, so "old_trackir = 0"  also worked.

Root cause: I have a battery operated IR LED clip, so I only turn it on once I'm "in the pit", at least for all the other sims. - Tracking not activated in TIR software before launching.

I have Trackir 5 an not having any luck, I have forward/back an roll but no x or y axis movement. I show 2 green lights left green means its tracking an 2 green lights meaning (A clip IS being tracked, and a TrackIR Enhanced Title IS running and has registered with the TrackIR software to receive tracking data.) Any ideas why its not working? trackir an IL-2 both set to run as admin.

UPDATE: I did hit the alt. F1 key an now I have x, y movement an roll but no back an forth action :(

Did you try removing all key binding related to views with pilot head movement?  I removed all related to mouse-look early on while troubleshooting, so not sure if it's a factor.

No I haven’t, I was given another thing to try. If that don’t work I will try removing all key bindings related to movement.

Situation solved. Had a joystick on a throttle quadrant that was overriding track x an y inputs.
