Lusekofte Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 This is a completly useless post apart from the fact that I want to admire my new BOK tag on the left and to say thank you 777 and thanks for the transparency, the communications and the hard work. Salam Aleykum o7 Personally I am happy you are with us in this endeavor , this community need people that embrace the genre and not the brand 1
smink1701 Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Just put my first present under the Christmas tree. Ordered!
1CGS BlackSix Posted September 17, 2016 1CGS Posted September 17, 2016 BlackSix said on russian forum that pre-order will end with start of early access, which is planned on begin of 2017. So, December is an expected date of the end of the pre-order. I said that the standard edition will be sold only after the start of Early Access. Early Access program will begin this December, we wrote about this here http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/25219-battle-kuban-pre-order-now-available/.

III/JG53*Viper Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Just preordered it! I want it to be December NOW!!!
Frogface Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Can't wait to get my hands on that Hs129 B-2 :D
Smouch Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Ordered mine Looking forward to the A-20 and Spitty!!!
Bearcat Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 OK guys I have cleaned up this thread.. let's keep the political morality out of this. 1
ZnarF Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Great to read that VR support in really on the way! Any chance that we could benefit within the Early Access early support of VR, even if non-perfect? (as some others, can't now step back to flat-monitor-sim-ing! ;-) )
kissklas Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 That would be awesome. In the exact same situation as you. The monitor just isn't enough anymore:-p I guess I'm hooked! xD
JG4_Sputnik Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Done. I'm looking forward to seeing the new Campaign, I hope it comes with some nice briefings. Currently I'm flying the Museum Relic Campaing for DCS F-86, and good written briefings, maps and such add so much to the immersion. Or even some good 3rd party campaigns would be much appreciated. Like the missions back in the old Il2 from "Tom" (forgot the company name, but it was a german developer that made a ton of good custom campaings). Oh, and we will be needing a "labels on/off" button for the VR players...
JG700_Rammjager Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Is there a posibility. to preorder BOK as a gift for someone ? Regards. Ramm.
JG4_dingsda Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Or even some good 3rd party campaigns would be much appreciated. Like the missions back in the old Il2 from "Tom" (forgot the company name, but it was a german developer that made a ton of good custom campaings). "Desastersoft"?
JG4_Sputnik Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 "Desastersoft"? That was it They've even made a great one for CloD, played it with a Me110. Why don't they make something similar for BoS...? I think they've mentioned earlier somewhere that the editor was too complex to make a reasonable campaign. Alas. Is there a posibility. to preorder BOK as a gift for someone ? Regards. Ramm. Yep, when you check out you can choose "gift to a friend".
=/WoVi/=kirumovka Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) urgh only the A-20 are the ones that seem out of the ordinary from that attacker/bomber selection but those premiums, oh boy.... Would love to get them! Although I do have doubts about the Hs 129 in relation to its engine. War Thunder made the hs129 fun because engines don't die from overboosting, meaning that as long as the engines stayed cool, they had no problem shooting down fighters. Well it is an attacker after all. We're not meant to shoot down fighters with it I also can't wait to see people break that nose gear on the P39 XD Edited September 18, 2016 by Y-29.ZdrytchX
SCG_Space_Ghost Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 -snip- I think they've mentioned earlier somewhere that the editor was too complex to make a reasonable campaign. Alas. -snip- We get it, you don't like the game... But you can stop with the completely untrue suppositions about things. 2
Monostripezebra Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 small things I hope for: Ammo resupply drops for tanks, chewing through a T-34 takes the PIII just a ton of shots if you can´t get a weakspot angle. drivable riverboats!
csThor Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) We get it, you don't like the game... But you can stop with the completely untrue suppositions about things. He actually merely repeated what Tom (of Desastersoft) told people after he took a long(ish) look at the BoS editor. No need to descend into the "fanboy defense mode", okay? Edited September 18, 2016 by csThor
Wandalen Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 I overcame my Russofobia and bought BOK .... Great to see the A-20 and Spitfire on the list. I am sure this wil drag a lot of new players from other simulators in here. Thums up! 1
JG4_Sputnik Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 We get it, you don't like the game... But you can stop with the completely untrue suppositions about things. Yes I hate that game, that's why I've backed both BoS and BoK and am still here after all those years... chill down please. He actually merely repeated what Tom (of Desastersoft) told people after he took a long(ish) look at the BoS editor. No need to descend into the "fanboy defense mode", okay? Thanks

EAF19_Swoop Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 It would so good if VR wasn't just bolted on but really thought out, it would make this sim really stand out. Some clever thoughts on spotting contacts seems the biggest issue.
kissklas Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Some clever thoughts on spotting contacts seems the biggest issue. A binoculars toggle should do the trick. Mask out the field of view with one black circle for each eye, and you'll get a proper effect as well! Shouldn't make you sick unless you do acrobatics while shaking your head like a madman:-p
Maxiku Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 I am so happy, amazed and delighted that this studio exists. When ROF came out, I was in WW1 heaven. Then came BOS, BOM and now we have BOK on the horizon. I can't think of any studio that really caters to the warbird sim fans like these guys do, and now that I have upgraded my rig ( Skylake ) I am really looking forward to seeing BOK in action. Well done guys - Sterling work as ever! 1
6./ZG26_McKvack Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) I would love a H8K3 in the Pacific theater EDIT: wrong thread Edited September 19, 2016 by 6./ZG26_McKvack 1

And an option for bigger dots for contacts and ground objects (DCS has that too), and a control binding to quickly make labels visible. Then you can spot ground targets more easily and then, once you have seen them, you can turn labels off again and attack by eyesight.
Jade_Monkey Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 This. And an option for bigger dots for contacts and ground objects (DCS has that too), and a control binding to quickly make labels visible. Then you can spot ground targets more easily and then, once you have seen them, you can turn labels off again and attack by eyesight. That already exists (keybinding H). On SP you enable it in mission settings and in MP it's up to the server settings.
=SqSq=Sulaco Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 You got my money, now put it toward making the Pacific theatre as kickass as possible!
NrthrnLtspilotkid233 Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Ordered! So excited for this one, REALLY looking forward to the P-39!
SAG Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Ordered! So excited for this one, REALLY looking forward to the P-39! I think your order might not have gone throught, you dont seem to have the BOK tag, check if your card bounceD?
Albino Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Thanks for that vid! My bombing and strafing runs in BOS/BOM are never that successful Is it a function of the easier spotting in 1946 or perhaps that bomb sight on the Hs.129?
-=PHX=-SuperEtendard Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 (edited) Thanks for that vid! My bombing and strafing runs in BOS/BOM are never that successful Is it a function of the easier spotting in 1946 or perhaps that bomb sight on the Hs.129? 1946 controls are easier as the way the planes fly is like "on rails" as some people say (compared to BoS) Edited September 19, 2016 by -=PLR=-SuperEtendard
itsmecamille Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Like other in this thread, I can't go back to sims on monitor, it's all VR for me now, which means that so far IL2 BOS has remained shelved. It would be good to see a more active commitment to VR, and as others have said the best way to tackle VR is start supporting it early and incrementing on it until you've got it working - others like Combat Air Patrol 2 and Aerofly FS2 are doing it this way with constant feedback from users. Anyway, I'll jump 100% in and buy everything you have on offer once it's clear that you're implementing VR. This weekend Jason stated that it's still something he won't promise - I personally would like to see it as a core feature, with full commitment, before I pre-order (I was about to pre-order when I saw Jason's statement and decided to wait)
Cybermat47 Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 We get it, you don't like the game... But you can stop with the completely untrue suppositions about things. I'm pretty sure he likes it, why else he pre-order the premium edition of BoS and BoK?
Gambit21 Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 1946 controls are easier as the way the planes fly is like "on rails" as some people say (compared to BoS) Not at all. The current flight model is much more sophisticated, but the 1946 aircraft are not "on rails" or anything close.

The current flight model is much more sophisticated, but the 1946 aircraft are not "on rails" or anything close. I meant from a comparison standpoint (that's why I used the quote instead of a full affirmation), but also you gotta admit that flying in 1946 is way easier than flying in BoS (FM part, not engine management). Having flown quite a bit in 1946 it is a bit difficult to start flying BoS, happened to me and squad mates. Edited September 19, 2016 by -=PLR=-SuperEtendard
sinned Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 BOK purchased. I am not a fan of EU theatres, but happily support BOS team for their effort to keep this genre alive. I can't wait to take off from a carrier in BOS engine. Please take a look (if not already been done) at this game Micropose 1942 Pacific Air War when developing Midway.
Gambit21 Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 (edited) @ SuperEtendard Oh yes, no argument there. Edited September 19, 2016 by Gambit21

That's essentially what Jason said in reply to a similar comment, or at least that was my interpretation. :-D
