I still don't see what is so hard about letting the user decide at what difficulty level we want to play the game on... Still, all the other changes are welcome. 1

LLv24_Zami Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Fighter missions I don't have much issue with, particularly when it is the faster one in a scenario (mig, f4 for example); you can disengage and dictate things more. My issue is bombing/ground attack aircraft, specifically the il2 in BoM. I will try some missions in it and feedback how I get on; recently it was 100% death for all attempts ( I don't count the yellow 'objective achieved' text as a successful mission, rather getting home instead means success). I'm grateful for the other changes, just confused as to this one's value. Okay, you did not mention you had those missions in mind. I have done my share of ground attack in different planes and have been moderately successful earlier, though it has been a while since I flew Il-2 in campaign. Out of curiosity I`ll try it later. I haven`t done much bombing so far, you are probably right on that. I don`t count yellow marker as success either. Landing is end of successful mission but sometimes you have to jump, as they did in real war. So if you are over friendly territory(exit area) and are forced to jump or belly land, that is mission completed IMO. Player ranks added to campaigns. You'll have a separate rank for each side in each campaign you have. Mission difficulty depends on this rank. At least my ranks are different in each episode. Pilot level on top of the page is the same as before. Of course it would be best to have selection for difficulty, I´ve always supported more options. Edited June 28, 2016 by Zami

Ranks are separate for all campaigns, so you can begin a campaign easier even if you are a Major in another one (or in another Air Force in this campaign). Pilot level also influences this, but to lesser extent than before (your difficulty level can't be lower than second rank if your are above level 5 and third rank if you're above level 10). So if you're an experienced player (10+) and begin a new campaign, it will be like playing at Senior Lieutnant (third) rank. A new user would play at lowest difficulty since both his universal 'level' and rank in a campaign are low.

I have completly reinstalled BOS, reinstalled the vive, followed the instructions ( changed or_enable =1 ) but every time i launch the game now, it won't start up. it just crashed directly after double clicking the .exe. I tried using the non-direkt mode on the vive and the error message displayed me a "direct3d device" error message additionally.I will try to reinstall all directx, but it would be very nice to get active help from the community or the developers to solve this puzzle why simply following the instructions won't get the vive going.

In that case i would love if the developers could publish information about the Mineshell in game. how powerful is it compared to Russian HE shells. and what are the German cannon belts made up of. It's already a nightmare to shoot down IL-2s even though we have one of the most powerful weapons in WWII air to air combat.

Please provide a link. startup.cfg is located in your il2 installed directory data folder Look for the line or_enable = 0 and change it to 1. I'm unable to launch the game though.

Usually, just one or two 200gramm shells was enough to bring down a single-engined fighter.

Pz-38(t) was also used as part of Panzerzug 62 (BP 42 type) operated by germans on teritory of Slovakia fighting partisans and insurgent army as well. Only if I could live long enough to see map of Slovakia in sturm again

Same here, I also own Vive, if I'll change the or_enable line to 1 I'm unable to launch the sim. Without VR it runs fine.
