Friday Night Bomber Flight Topic

Recommended Posts

Ah, one has to point on this, too: that resupply-script is a great add-on, landing, stand-by until the platform is free, unload the stuff and off you go! VERY nicely done, such features for grown-ups add a lot to immersion! Highly recommended for any mission builder who wants to please the bomber- and transport-crowd.

Absolutely amazing night! Waiting on the threshold in our Il-2s for 'Aircraft Launch' we were in the unfortunate position of being shelled - very nerve-wracking. As  soon as we were airborne we were discovering tanks and ammo dumps all around our airfield; masses of targets  . Bomb, strafe and refuel in quick order. I must have flown eight or nine sorties - I was shot down on three of them; twice by flak and once by 109s but was lucky to survive them all.

We even discovered the Germans' secret weapon. No, not the Luftwaffe trees, we know all about them, but the latest Panzer Hydra two-headed tank.

doubletank_01_zpsdonbs4uq.jpg

The only problem with this wonder weapon is that even when the flames are raging it's still counted as an undead tank. At least when they go out it looks a bit more like one.

doubletank_02_zpsk2sqgbih.jpg

I'm not sure how many tanks we wiped out in this five vehicle unit but we never got the 'column destroyed' message :( .

Something for you to have a look at Tip, please. Thanks for providing a great mission, and everyone for a very fun evening.

Cheers.

I had a rough start back into this event; first sortie was a disco, second and third sorties I was shot down with two and one rounds respectively.

I guess that was one of the mostly lucky shots recently for me. I was quite surprised seeing that kill message pop up there

After the fight with you we chased 2 bf-109s up until 7.5k but had to give up due to low fuel, was some nice action in that mission :salute:

It was a nice shot, you nailed my engine block because it died instantly.

I was a bit defeated when you shot me down, as the sortie before I was chased for something ridiculous like 15-20km by 2-3 Yak 1B's who sprayed at me from quite a distance.  I was amazed that had any ammo left at all, at which point two rounds hit me destroyed my plane.

Whoever was in the He-111 that was shot down over your airfield target, your falling plane almost hit us two Yaks in the spawn area. We saw it coming down and we were both shouting "Get rolling!" LOL

When you are underpressure your perception is prone to misjudge and two aircraft quick burst in direction towards stabilized plane make you dance and slow you down this eventually reduced good amount of distance. Btw Mission was ending that why we hunt you down :D

Thanks Tip and all flyers for good time and loads of fun!

Night full of action. Well done all!

Our IL2's attacked enemy units really close to our airfield. The enemy artillery was bombing the installations while we're waiting for the launch signal, quite stressing situation. We manage to get the artillery and couple of panzers and AA vehicles, some dugouts and soft targets south of Marinovka.

In two separate incidents our IL2's surprise some transport aircraft with escorts and  amazing dogfights  take place.

The last pics are from a flight that I surprise while attacking Kalach armored vehicles. I sneak in and follow them couple clicks south west Kalach and attack them in a surprise attack. Even my gunner shot at them(thanks Coco) but we break contact when they start to fire signalling flares  to alert some fighters nearby.

Great pics and vid.

I see you saw through Panzer #4s new camo. "Burning wreck". :)

Plenty of action out there. That you staved off the onslaught this time is laudable Panzer Gericht.

Next Mission will be #50 for FNBFs.

You can rest assured it will be epic.

Ha-ha, that was Thor's plane , he got destroyed by a single flak hit at 5000 m , we were actually joking that he might score some extra hits with his wreck as we were watching it going down .

I'll give the PE2 a try, since the IL-2s are full

Depending on wether my Squadmates will join me in flying Russians we could do a Switcharound. I'll Update you just in Case.

I can switch with you if you're more comfortable flying IL2, I can switch to Pe2 or Lagg.

Also depending of the amount of escort we have I can/shall take a Yak.

That's very nice of you guys, but don't worry. It is time to try something different :)

If you really switch sides Klaus, then I would like to fly your Il-2. Otherwise I'll probably have a great time crashing the PE2!
