GiftZahnsSteigern Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Use to be a spiffy workaround for that ALT F4 misadventure in FSX. Delete the entirety of win32 directory. Took a few goes, but one was certain when one 'succeeded'.
Bjerg Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 I am trying to make a guncamera style video but it seems that I can't access the 'attached camera' mode if I'm using TrackIR - even if it's just a replay! I can get the camera mode if I start the game without TrackIR but that defeats the purpose as I have to fly totally differently (can't lean over the nose to make the deflection shots etc.). Is there a solution or workaround that I'm just missing or is it really not possible to have TrackIR and the attached camera mode?
CAPSLOCK_ON Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Guys, I'm back here to this topic to ask if anyone knows what is the .txt filename for the Hurricane Mk. II. This plane is missing from the planes list in the IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\LuaScripts\Worldobjects\Planes folder. So I guess I can't edit the camera position without the correct .txt filename. Thanks!
Stonehouse Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Need to ungtp scripts.gtp found in IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data - there are a few other ones new as well like the P47D22. Also noticed a goprocamera75.txt so possibly a different fov camera that can be used instead of goprocamera90.txt. hurricanemkii.txt 1
RNAS10_Oliver Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 (edited) I made mine without needing to ungtp anything. Appeared to be the same naming as the graphics/planes folders (the one where normal maps and cockpit photos are stored) for each aircraft are given. Just copied, pasted and renamed the fixed cameras from any other aircraft. Edited November 24, 2020 by Oliver88
CAPSLOCK_ON Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 Thanks, just copied it to the folder, gotta check if it will work. The naming convention is different to the other planes in the sense of capital letters, I'd expect a HurricaneMkII.txt filename as are the other aircrafts in that folder. As for the change of FoV, I tackled it using the ingame's "zoom" keys (default: Numpad +/-), which worked well, so no need to fiddle with those other .txt files. Unless you want a default FoV value.
Hopper64 Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 I'm unclear on this guys. I would like to add additional views to my P51but I don't see exactly how to do that. I have navigated to game folder/data/scripts.gtp. But what exactly needs to be done from there? Thanks.

The first post on this topic sums it up very well in the first paragraphs. There's nothing to do with the scripts.gtp, but with the .txt files on a folder, explained on the first post I mentioned.

I did review that post, but it has "IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\LuaScripts\WorldObjects\fixcameras\Planes" I have ......WorldObjects\mapemiters. I'm not seeing a "fixcameras\Planes" folder at all in my game directory. That's the source of my confusion here. Thanks. Appreciate your response.

Perhaps your install doesn't have this folder structure? Mine is like this: "\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\LuaScripts\Worldobjects\Planes" and all .txts are inside this folder. Maybe it works if you manually create such folder structure? EDIT: Now I see the (possible) mistake: there is no such folder called "fixcameras". Check my folder structure above, it is taken directly from my install. Edited November 25, 2020 by CAPSLOCK_ON
Stonehouse Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 (edited) There definitely is a fixcameras folder if you look inside the gtp'd scripts.gtp. Also look at Jason's file a few posts back, when it unzips it creates a fixcameras folder. There just is not such a folder in the default install of the game that you can see since it is within the gtp file. I just went into scripts.gtp for the hurricane text file because I wanted to see if the file layout had changed rather than just copy something else and see what happened. Also if I was going to provide the file to help the guy I thought it was better that I give him the real one. There was also a fixcameras JSGME mod pack floating about here somewhere that took the first post's instructions and Jason's file and created a mod for the planes and vehicles etc which were about at the time the mod was released. Don't think it has been updated though. It also creates a fixcameras folder under \IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data\LuaScripts\Worldobjects Edited November 25, 2020 by No457_Stonehouse 1
Hopper64 Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 Ah, I see his post now. I’ll try that and see what happens. Thanks!

Hopper64 Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 That's what I was missing, but there was no .txt file in the download for the P51. I simply copied the P47 txt file to the desktop and renamed it P51D15. Copied it back into the planes folder. Works great. I tried copy/paste the views from the original post after deleting the original views in the txt file, but the sound cut out. I just made a 6 view txt file version and an 11 view version to use interchangeably, but the sound cutting out was an issue. It's quite an improvement. Thanks for all the help. Much appreciated!!
LF_Asger Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 Hello I have read all the above, download the files from Jason and take them to \IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data\LuaScripts\Worldobjects. What I do not have are the "goprocameraXX.txt" files. Then, I guess I can´t have the other views (106 to 110), right? Any idea? Thanks a lot 1
Snacko Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 I'm having trouble adjusting these views on the P47d28. I changed the foreword/backward (first) numbers on the cameras to much larger numbers (4.0 to 14.0), but nothing changed. I have turned off Cinematic views. And disabled my TrackIR. What am I missing?
jollyjack Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 (edited) Just saw your post; my P47D28.txt file that works is: ------------------------------ // attach ID should be in range from 100 to 110 // first number is forward - backward (bigger is forward) // second number is height (bigger is higher) // third number is left - right (negative is left) // rotation values : 1st along X-longitudinal, 2nd along Y-vertical, 3rd along Z-look up-down) [attach=100] // Gun camera over the cockpit position = 1.0, 1.5, 0.0 rotation = 0, 0, 0 convex = "WingL_Mid_0" object = "LuaScripts/WorldObjects/GoProCamera75.txt" [end] [attach=101] // Forward camera located on the vertical fin position = -5.5, 1.5, 0.0 rotation = 0, 0, -10 convex = "Fin_Ctl_1" object = "LuaScripts/WorldObjects/GoProCamera90.txt" [end] [attach=102] // Forward camera located on the horizontal fin position = -5.0, 0.4, -1.6 rotation = 0, 0, 0 convex = "Stab_L_1" object = "LuaScripts/WorldObjects/GoProCamera90.txt" [end] [attach=103] // Backward camera located on the engine cowling position = 1.4, 0.9, -0.0 rotation = 0, 170, -5 object = "LuaScripts/WorldObjects/GoProCamera90.txt" [end] [attach=104] // Side camera located on wing position = 1.1, -0.3, -4.5 rotation = 0, 80, -5 convex = "WingL_Out_0" object = "LuaScripts/WorldObjects/GoProCamera90.txt" [end] [attach=105] // Forward camera located below the plane tail position = -5.0, -0.5, -0.4 rotation = 0, 0, 0 convex = "Fuse_Ctl_7" object = "LuaScripts/WorldObjects/GoProCamera90.txt" [end] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATED Oct 2021: PS my entire edited fixcameras planes folder: https://www.mediafire.com/file/vqmhp8rnwr3i9ci/fixcameras_planes_4%2C605b_JJ.zip/file Edited October 1, 2021 by jollyjack 1
IRRE_FlyPlatypus Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 Hello everyone, does the trick still work? I can not make it work, I have the same issue as mentionned by LF_Asger, I do not have the gopro file. Is there any other mean to custom the attached camera?
