707shap_Srbin Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Stage 2nd, General HQ reports: During the night on September 4 / 5, 1942, both commands tried to replenish material losses before daylight fight. Transport aircrafts of RED side, performed very well, but their achievements were neglected by huge losses of 99 BAP. So, RED side was able to create a minimal needed reserve of resourses. For the BLUE side, situation was opposite - there were no hige losses, but because of technical problems, transport aircrafts could do little. During the day on September 5, 1942, there were heavy fight both in the air oand on the ground. RED side threw all aviable aircrafts to the sector Trudovoi Poselok #3 - Stalinskij, with fake attack in Abganerovo. When Luftwaffe prepared to hit hard "soviet tanks in Abganerovo", real soviet tanks (supported by the whole VVS in this front) smashed the german defenses in Stalinskij and steamrolled into town, capturing it. After Luftwaffe realised a mistake, it shifted efforts to Stalinski. VVS was almost annihilated in the air, but supported its Ground forces to the very end. Despite many Abschussen an some ground targets destroyed, Wehrmacht lost control of Stalinskij town. Score in the series: 2:1 in favour of BLUE team, but RED team regained iniciative. Also, Luftwaffe lost airfield in Kumovka, and now in the process of creating a front airfields for fighters in the rear. Material losses for this fighting stage, sustained by sides: VVS RKKA - 58 points of resourses Luftwaffe - 42 points of resourses Front situation map: Full size Great thanks to all pilots participated in this Stage fights! 3

Pharoah Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I wish this was on continuously rather than a weekly event. A lot of us can't make European time zone flights (probably middle of the day for us...wives don't like it) but I'd love to be able to take part, even if just flying transport missions, etc ie. having the ability to do limited missions before the weekly 'push' eg. - transport flights (bombers acting as freighters) - ferry flights (bombers/fighters) - limited armed recce flights or photo recce flights even flying at night.
=J13=xarann Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Also, Luftwaffe lost airfield in Kumovka, Airfield for blue fighters was moved to Zhutovo (632.1) so destination point of AirLift operation also moved there. The airlift route now is Morozovsky South->Zhutovo

707shap_Srbin Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 INTERACTIVE WAR, 1st TOUR of DUTY, 3rd Week Combat report. Just before night combat mission, Luftwaffe became a target of diversion. Fighter pilots, who were celebrating a transfer flight to Zhutovo airfield, bought a huge amount of samogon (moonshine) from "grandmother Nyura", civil inhabitant of that village. But "Baba Nyura" was an agent of partisan underground, and gave poisoned "samogon" to unawared Luftwaffe Jagdfliegern. As a result, most of fighter pilots died of diarrhea. The only survivours were those pilots, who were celebration with women, not with drinking. Morale - love the women! In the night mission on 12 september, both sides tried to resupply, to gain needed reserves before day fights. For Luftwaffe, wich had almost wiped-out Supply Depots, airlift operation was a question of survival. But, as in previous times, there were many technical troubles with combat-weared He111's. Despite no combat losses at night, Luftwaffe failed to gain some resourses that night. Also, there happened a curious act - one of the new crew of Long-range recoon aircrafts, during a secret mission far behind enemy lines, lost all bearings and landed straight on main transport and command VVS airfield, and was captured by ground crew party. For VVS, exellent performance of their transport pilots was neglected by awfull losses of 99 BAP (bomber regiment), and as a final result, VVS had the minimum needed resourses vefore day mission. On day mission, both sides at first were cautious. Luftwaffe, not able to attack (tanks struck without any fuel), was trying to hold Abganerovo sector at south, holding an armada of new-arrived fighter pilots from other fronts. But VVS decided to move fast - they attacked in the north, smashing defense positions at Kolpachki, and deployed a tanks in Stalinskij area. Luftwaffe HeadQuarters, keeping in mind previous expirience, reacted only with limited fighter opposition, holding a main fighter force over south. Brave pilots of Bf109's entered the fray, and were able to chase and destroy entire group of Il-2's. But they were jumped by hordes of Red fighters and lost 3 Bf109's, while last 2 of them landed at Zhutove totally exhausted (preventing further flight this day), out of ammunition and on the last drops of fuel. After that, VVS launched their final attack. Luftwaffe, still unawware a main focus of VVS attack, sent a lone Bf110 to find out probable tanks at Kolpachki. That Bf110 was met over target, and last radio message, received from him, was "Russische Panzer, Kolpachki! Feundliche Jager! Shiess! Shiess, scheise! Ich brenne! Ich brenne! Ich steig au..........." Luftwaffe HQ realised a threat, but too late. Brave Bf110 pilots, who were waiting at the center of front, flew to the North and tried to attack tanks - but failed even get close to it, because of VVS fighters on Bf110's tail. They managed to escape without loss, however. When all Luftwaffe fighters arrived to the north, Kolpachki was captured. Aircombat followed, some Abschusse claimed, but nothing could return Kolpachki. Result of combat week: Red Army captured Kolpachki (sector A), score 3:2 in favor of RED, who hold initiative in hands. Front depots and warehouses of Wehrmach is wiped-out, and it is hardly needed to Airlift. Losses of resourses for the week: VVS - 43 points of resourses. Luftwaffe - 18 points. 1
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 That was a very good mission, thanks to everyone involved. Double thanks to Blau and ver1ex for getting me set up, and to all pilots in the Yak-1 flight for making me feel right at home First sortie was uneventful - escort then patrol until our fuel ran low. While on landing approach new orders from the HQ already came and off we went to patrol. Shortly after coming on station we saw the Bf-110s approaching and started an intercept. Right after our first attack they dropped bombs and engaged, but we didn't pursue them after that. Lastly we met some Bf-109s tangling with other of our aircraft and once again we attacked. A Messer came behind me and I rolled my way out. My mistake was that immediately afterwards I initiated a climb then his wingman got me and sent my Yak into an inverted spin. For over 3000m I struggled to get out of it while my flight members supported me over radio giving directions and egress headings to take as soon as I exited. Sadly my controls were mostly unresponsive and half my tail had been shot off so I had to jump in the end. I was lucky - my parachute opened some 50m above certain death while my aircraft exploded. I landed alive, so a short trip to the field hospital and I will be ready again. Looking forward to the next one! 2

707shap_Srbin Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 (edited) INTERACTIVE WAR, AFTER ACTION REPORTS 1st Tour of Duty. AFTER ACTION REPORT August 28 /29, 1942. Stage 1st, General HQ reports: "August 29, 1942, through night and day there were active fighting in the air and on the ground. High intensity battles naturally led to increased consumption of resources on both sides. This intense of fighting for the next week or two will result in the forced stop attacks to a halt because of lack of resourses.. . At the moment, blue side, for a cost of lot of effort, was able to push through the enemy defenses in the sector and captured a foothold in Abganerovo, even though the Reds attempt to collect there the shock tank group: the group was cut out and destroyed by concentrate air attacks and ground fire." Score in the series: 2:0 in favor of the blue. The losses of the fighting period, exceeded the most pessimistic forecasts. Only the restoration of materiel was spent: Red Army Air Force - 42 points of resources. Luftwaffe - 57 points of resources. AFTER ACTION REPORT September 4 / 5, 1942 During the night on September 4 / 5, 1942, both commands tried to replenish material losses before daylight fight. AFTER ACTION REPORT September 18 / 19, 1942 Final report of 1st Tour of Duty - First offensive operation of Wehrmacht in direction towards Stalingrad. Night mission. The front infrastructure of Luftwaffe, as usual, being in very bad condition, has been completely destroyed by a raid of red Dive-bombers at night. The transport aircraft of Luftwaffe did their job not perfect, but better than during previous night. But despite it, the minimal needed stock of resources by the morning managed to be created - if not destroyed warehouses, attack could turn out. Thanks to earlier carried out photo reconnaissance, blue could attack railroad station at night, causing heavy losses in supply materials for the Red team. By the beginning 4th week of fight, warehouses of Red side have been put in full order. Transport planes despite hindrances from Blue night hunters could execute 2 flights each of 3 aircraft. By the morning, Red side had a stock of resources sufficient as for carrying out attack in any of the directions, and for completion of losses in aircraft. All this gave confidence in success of the forthcoming day approach. Day Mission. Because of no deployment points available (all warehouses were wiped-out fortnight), in the afternoon there was no force left in a reserve for Blues to deploy tanks for attack and or Antitank defense: Wehrmacht could rely only for Luftwaffe assault pilots to defend them from Red steamroller. Command of red has decided to carry out fast attack in sector B, remembering last success when taking Northern sector of front. But this time attack planes of Red have encountered stiff resistance from first minutes of attack of the enemy line of defense. Some of Il-2s has been brought down, but remained could destroy defense of Blue side. But Luftwaffe was not going to give up and threw all available fighters from other sectors, inflicting heavy losses to Red fighters and gain air superiority over already deployed Red Army tanks. Despite the available stock of resources of Red side, it required some time for transfer of new equipment and aircraft from rear airfields to the front. In this interval, tanks were still advancing to the West from Zety. Therefore all remained fighters of red have been given the order on cover of tanks. But big losses have led not only with reduction of number of planes, but also to controllability loss by destructive divisions. Such hard was a air fight and the situation over tanks, which has developed for Red that on cover of advance of tanks even attack planes (Il-2) have been thrown. Meanwhile Blue have drawn up all forces in sector B, and, denying any attempts to prevent them, started methodically to destroy the coming Red tanks. The real hero of “Battle of Yerik”, who shot down 9 enemy aircrafts during a day, was 1stCL/Werner. For this success, he deserved a title of “Steppe lion”. Overall, we may note excellent cooperation between fighters and assault aircrafts over target. Bf109 pilots even went to the deck and mashinegunned the tanks to highlight them for incoming Stuka and Zerstorer pilots. If the blue team from the very beginning had been work so harmoniously, the joint account would obviously be another. Result of fights on September 19, 1942: the Red team has carried out unsuccessful attack in the direction of Yerik. Losses of materiel for these days: Red - 32 points of resources., Blue - 18 points of resources., Badges of participants are distributed as follows: Luftwaffe Badges: Badge for Group leaders (members of Luftwaffe HQ): - Leader of fighter arm - 1stCL/Fucida - Leader of bomber arm - LLv32_Kanttori Special Badge for distinguished pilots during Tour of Duty: - 1stCL/Werner - for perfect efforts as a Luftwaffe fighter pilot during campaign - 1stCL/Kurtis - for destruction of main tank forses during Battle of Yerik as a Stuka pilot. - guter_Hase - for successful special missions of HQ. AFTER ACTION REPORT 3-4 October 1942. After exhausting the September fighting and a forced pause, used to restore reserves, already the 3rd October 1942 the battle began again at dawn when the opposing sides bombers rose into the air. Luftwaffe hit Railroad station and warehouse in sector A. Ju88 suffered heavy losses over Zaplavnoe r/r station from the AAA, however, were able to achieve considerable success, destroying 3/4 of a target. Also, over Stalinskij frontline depot, Luftwaffe executed a brilliant attack: Ju87 attacked it in a dive, followed by Bf110. VVS said raids on the Railroad station and warehouse in sector C, and despite the large number of enemy fighters, did not encounter any resistance: combat losses was minimal, but the effectiveness of the bombing was ground low. On the morning of October 4 Wehrmacht tried to break through the defense lines in the sector B in a blow to the Zetas, but the deployment of German tanks under Erik was just seen by red fighter scouts, and in response to the command of the Reds launched a fighter combat air patrol for the Zetas. Reflecting attempt of Luftwaffe to win air supremacy in this sector of the front, the VVS pulled all fighter forces in Sector B. Skillfully maneuvering units, Soviet fighters were able to maintain a permanent presence of fighters over the sector of defense lines and prevent the few Luftwaffe attack aircraft to clear the way for the German tanks. The result was a ceaseless battle for air supremacy over the Zetas, the intensity of which petered out in the afternoon, when it became clear that the Germans attack failed. Soviet fighters won this fray, and were able to shot down 17 german aircrafts, losing only 7 of their own. Heavy Luftwaffe losses can be explained by the fact that on the eve of the offensive there was carried out a football championship, which met the Luftwaffe fighter command and Regia Aeronautica. For this reason, a fighter cover of offencive operation was entrusted to the pilots of the newly arrived Fighter Group, which had no combat experience in this particular theater of war. Loss of the sides to the materiel on the results of fight on 3 and 4 October: Red Army Air Force - 24 units. resources Luftwaffe - 59 units. resources Best fighter pilot: =FPS=Cutlass, La-5 pilot, with 5 airkills. Best assault pilot: I./ZG1_Krokodilor, Bf110E pilot, with 5 ground targets destroyed. Best bomber pilot: LLv32_Kanttori, with 21 ground targets destroyed. AFTER ACTION REPORT October 9-10, 1942. Owing to various reasons both sides had deficiency of pilots, because of what active actions were practically rare: incidental skirmishes in air, an exchange of bombing attacks - all this what there were enough forces for. On October 9, 1942, the exchange of blows of bombers to a railroad stations and warehouses in sector A has taken place. Also, Luftwqaffe was able to attack warehouses of sector B. Because of shortage of pilots, as well as week before, the transport aviation did not perform flights. Fighting losses were practically minimal. On October 10, 1942, having the intelligence data on lack of preparation of attacks by Germans, VVS RKKA have decided to attack a strong point in N of the front, at Lyapichev. But even having some advantage in number, could not clear the sky from the German fighters, - weak training of red falcons and the translation under Stalingrad of experienced German experts has affected. VVS RKKA have suffered serious losses, without having achieved success. Because of that, High Command of VVS RKKA has refused further attempted breakthroughs of the German defense not to lose attack planes. Germans have skillfully seized the moment and have bombed the Soviet warehouses in sector A. Losses of materiel following the results of fights on October 9 and 10: RKKA Air Force - 37 units of resources Luftwaffe - 26 units of resources The most productive fighter pilot: 3.IAP_Cassius, Bf109F-4, 5 downed aircrafts. The most productive pilots of attack planes at once three, and everyone has 4 destroyed ground targets: 1stCL/pbarry, Ju87D-3 I./ZG1_Ketzoh, Bf110E-2 =J13=xarann, Il-2 The most productive bomber pilot: =J13=xarann, Pe-2, 15 destroyed purposes. AFTER ACTION REPORT October 9-10, 1942. Before the start of the battle Luftwaffe had only 3 resource points, which is insufficient for the deployment of tank attack. It was decided to defend the sector A, and deploy Bf110’s as fast bombers on raids against enemy warehouses to weak VVS as much as possible. For Saturday mission Luftwaffe had very few pilots - a rotte of Czechs, schwarm of Germans in the 109, three Bf110 and a Heinkel 111. Heinkel was put in free hunt on enemy supply depots, he attacked them during the whole mission by making two long departure. It was never intercepted. Czechs were sent to patrol in the sector A, Sector B covered by the Germans. Bf110 made fast hit-n-run raid on the sector C, which they bombed without loss. They were successful with destroying some Depots. After the attack, I received a message about the attack of our C sector . Nearest fighters were called, they came and cleared the air. AS it was thought like an attack, Bf110 received command to verify the presence of the enemy's ground activity. But, unfortunately, at the moment of approach Bf110 jumped right on the line of defense, and literally within seconds all three were shot down by well-concentrated fire of anti-aircraft guns. Soviet AAA crews opened their score, and this was only a beginning of a mess. Fighters went to patrol the A and B, one-tens - took off and went to a randezvois point in center of the front. At this point, hell broke loose on the first defence line in sector A, Lyapichev town. While waiting a clear space for attack, Bf110 were waiting near low. It was time to fighters again. At first, pair of Czechs fought alone, reporting on the top pair + to 5 soviet planes below. Germans were called, and they came after a short battle reported that knocked down all who could, and the rest was expelled from the area. One-tens approached and began search for tanks. 1stCL/Werner do the same. No trace of Tanks! After reviewing each square meter, it was decided that the Reds have conceived feint. Bf110 were diverted to attack the warehouses in sector A (Stalinskij), with which they do well – there were 3 depots destroyed. At the exit of the attack, anti-aircraft guns shot down one of Wasp-nosed Bf110’s – Grendel went down in flames. Ser and Kroko moved north, and in the time when past over defence line in the sector A, they DISCOVERED tanks. At this point, anti-aircraft guns opened fire, tore the rudder on the aircraft of Ser, and shot off the wing of second Wasp-pilot, Krokodilor. Ser, with a broken tail and a smoking engine shot dead, was able to hold on home and sit it down, saving the aircraft for further operations. Meanwhile, Krokodilor delievered new aircraft from the rear, and Zerstorer rotte started again. At this point, fighters finished refuel and rearm, took off and were running wild to sector A, wich was under massive attack of red steamroller – Yaks, La-5s, Il-2 and Pe-2s – all air fleet was pounding poor defences. Czechs were the first into action, reported about a lot of Soviets in the air high and low. Veri difficult fight started. Then came a rotte of JG4. At this point, Bf110’s came up too close and were jumped by all the horde. Furious battle followed, and, backuped by Bf109’s, one-tens were able to not only to survive, but even shot down one of La-5! And all this with pair of SC250 still onboard Regrouped, they turned on the tanks, but at this point the red tanks entered town and captured Lyapichev. What a bad luck! In general, good luck again was on the red side – on Friday, a group of Pe-2, miraculously slipped between 7 (!!!) fighters that went towards incoming bombers. I./JG1 did job well, separating fighter escort from Pe-2’s, but two groups of Luftwaffe fighters were not able to find soviet bombers, and were punished, having critically important Raiload Station Surovikino wiped out completely. Only thanks to this attack, the blue could not attack with tanks on Saturday. Then, on Saturday, it was twice when Bf110s were murdered by anti-aircraft guns at the wrong time, accidentally jumped on them at low altitude. Bad luck! The score on the battles in the air 14: 0. But we lost A sector totally, and will not be able to get it back. On the good side, we put a hard strike on VVS warehouses, making Soviet resource income to a minimum. But no way! We're not giving up. Nest Saturday, I promise, will be no less interesting. Wi will do all possible to not to end this ToD with a score of 6: 2. Best fighter pilots of this week, 1st/Werner and 3.IAP_Cassius, Bf109F-4 pilots, each of whom have 5 aircrafts shot down. Best assault pilot of this week - 6./ZG1_GrendelsDad, Bf110E-2 pilot, destroyed 8 ground targets. Best bomber pilot - =J13=xarann, Pe-2 pilot, destroyed 27 ground targets. AFTER ACTION REPORT 23-24 October 1942 Preparation After the defeat on last week on the northern sector of front, Wehrmacht was determined to fight back: they had a powerful raid, which destroyed recently restored rear supply in B sector. Tips The answer is not long in coming: the bombing had been badly damaged by German warehouses in Gromoslavka, with pawns suffered heavy losses from enemy air defense and fighter. Some Soviet fighters were sent to cover-up a railroad station, but, contrary to previous missions, the German bombers and have not appeared. The loss of the warehouses forced the Germans to bring transport aircraft to supply the armies, supplies by air performed by red side also. To the offencive phase, both sides came up with the minimum of reserves. Offensive From the outset, the red side had to protect against possible attacks without the remaining reserves in the B sector, which have been allocated for the destruction of German forces in the warehouse sector. A large number of pilots available at the same time allowed the red to assault the blue positions in the C sector, and go to the aggressive actions of the enemy territory, blocking enemy airfields. As a result, soviet fighters were able to shot down some top aces of blue side, on account of which had the 2-3 dozen downed aircrafts in less than a month of fighting. In addition, red deployed defensive reserves with the sector C, which ultimately did not give the German tanks to take it. Blue side had to operate under heavy pressure from the Reds. They were overwhelmed, outnumbered as more as twice, and in the conditions of lack of resources. But they were amazingly able to deploy to attack and even break through the first line of defense of the Soviet, and only additional forces deployed prudently red, managed to stop the German tanks. The total expense of the territories remained the same: 6: 2 in favor of the Reds. Losses of materiel on the basis of fighting on October 23-24, 1942: The Red Army Air Force - 46 points of resources Luftwaffe - 36 points of resources Statistics and campaign badges will appear a bit later. 216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Great mission for the joint group from 55 IAP, Halcones Rojos, Red Eye and 19 GIAP. I had to leave after our third sortie but in the first two we shot down two Bf-109, one Bf-110 and damaged another Bf-109. Huge thanks to RampageZGamer for being an excellent wingman and holding up when we fought four Bf-109s single-handedly, to Tumu, Colibri and ZunZun for the high level of flying and great coordination, and to Serenity for orchestrating the whole plan. Looking forward to the next one!
