TRRA15 Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 (edited) GTX 780 GPU. Had the sim less than 3 months, worked fine with only very random crashes, which were rectified by installing the older ( 368.81 ) recommended drivers. Good until a few days ago when crashes happened regularly after 10 or 12 minutes of play. Offline quick combat. Screen freezes, then goes black. Audio is heard till plane crashes into ground. I cannot isolate the sim crash to any action, but in one case a Bf109 E7 I was about to take a high angle deflection shot at suddenly "ghosted" ( went nearly transparent ) just before screen freeze and subsequent crash. Alas no proper crash report but did get this error pop-up after crash: D3D_ERROR DxBufferMan11::vb ( plus parentheses, colon, parentheses ) ( had to spell it out because typing it caused emoticon/smiley ) ( : ) but no space between colon and parentheses ) DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED Edited May 29, 2017 by TRRA15
Vendigo Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 (edited) Wow you actually had to go back 2 years? Yep, I think right now there is only one way to fix this problem - to go back to old drivers, if crashes persisit then one should go back to even older drivers. I think TRRA5 should try doing it. Still I'm really hoping for a fix, either from Nvidia or the devs though they have said it is not "their" problem... Edited May 29, 2017 by Vendigo

TRRA15 Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 (edited) I found out that going back to driver 350.12 seems to be working for me. No crash after several hours flying. Multiple 30 minute sessions of flying seems to bear out that this is a solution. No trouble so far. Thanks for the research and advice. Edited June 3, 2017 by TRRA15
BlackHellHound1 Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 I had a crash earlier today (09-06-2017) during a TAW mission. Some details: location: Kubinka airfield on the Moscow Map Time: 22:47 PM. Server: Tactical Air War on map 162 My plane: Bf-109 F-2 Before the crash: The airfield of Kubinka was under attack by 2 Soviet planes. Heavy Flak and small AA was firing as well as a large number of planes. I do not know the total number of planes but it must have been around 15 to 20 that were flying over the airfield. About 3 of them were trailing different kinds of smoke. This was all happening below 1.5km altitude. The crash: The crash itself was a suddenly frozen screen with no sound. (happened at the moment I flew through the furball at 500m with heavy flak and other planes firing their guns) After this screen, a small error message popped up with some error code. However, this disappeared too fast to make a screenshot of. Followed by the standard windows message saying that the program is not responding and asking me to end the task. Which I did. I tried to restart the game again which happened flawlessly. I have not noticed any problems since. The dump file has been added as an attachment. I hope this helps. OKCHARLIE Posted June 10, 2017 Posted June 10, 2017 Hi, the game is crashing for me. When you encountered the crash; - When I press "Start" on any mission. In what game mode (MP/QMB/campaign/scenario); - Only tried Mission and Quick Start - both the same. In what mission; - All What did you do before the crash; - Just tried to start a mission. What happened in the mission before the crash; - Game loaded normally. Additional info you think is relevant to the crash. - I had an EVGA GTX 780 TI - but I know there are issues with this, so I now have a EVGA 1080 TI FTW3 but the issue is worse. Running in 4k, but have tried other resolutions and all the same. I've tried ultra settings to the most basic - always crashes. I have updated drivers of graphics card 'Geforce game ready driver' to latest version (382.53 - release date 9th of June 2017) still crashes. Error log is attached in zip file. Thanks, Mike This thread has been created to find the cause of the random game crashing with the community help. Game version 1.107b and later is required for submitting crash dumps. Please post only the data requested and avoid off-topic discussion. 1. To enable Windows Error Reporting, run (double-click) this log file: <install_folder>\data\EnableErrorReporting.reg 2. In a case of the game crash open the folder where crash dumps are stored, you can do this by running this batch file: <install_folder>\data\ViewCrashDumps.cmd 3. Sort the dump files by date to find a newest one 4. Zip the newest dump file "Il-2.exe.****.dmp" (**** is a random number) 5. Post about the crash in this thread, attach the archive you just made and provide some details: When you encountered the crash; In what game mode (MP/QMB/campaign/scenario); In what mission; What did you do before the crash; What happened in the mission before the crash; Additional info you think is relevant to the crash. -=PHX=-Tom- Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 I found out that going back to driver 350.12 seems to be working for me. No crash after several hours flying. Hi Vendigo. I have tried to install that driver, but I have Windows 10 and the only version of the driver I've found is only for windows 7. I tried anyway but the installation failed. Do you have any idea or tip? I have managed to fly several times for a long time with the latest nvidia drivers but yesterday I suffered two or three crashes with that "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED" stuff again. It is frustrating, weeks keep going and we have no answer from nvidia or from 1c. Two new drivers have come since I first experienced this issue and the problem persists. Any help would be great, thanks.
ITAF_Cymao Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 After a while, the game crashed.After 10 minutes of online flight Il-2.exe.2600.zip
Geralt Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 my error message on regular, no random crashes is as follows: D3D ERROR DXBufferMan11::vb(...)DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED Dont ask me what that means, I have no idea, I`m not an expert on such things. The technicians in the developers team certainly do know.
-=PHX=-Tom- Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Hi Geralt. There are some topics related to that problem. It is an issue that came with the VR support update. There is a problem with the graphics card, As far as I see, it affects Nvidia 780 series, titan and some of the 900 series. The game crashes after a few flight minutes, varying from 5 minutes to 30. I have experienced that it gets worse in autumn maps. I am no expert also, but some people have solved their problem installing 350.12 drivers from Nvidia. That means that you have to go back 2 years to find a driver that works. I couldnt install that driver, so I've been grounded for months. Nvidia blames 1c and 1c blames nvidia. I don´t know who is responsible, but a lot of users have expended their money and they cannot fly so far. It is very sad. I hope that a new update comes and this problem is solved once for all. I think going back to old drivers is a bad solution, and it should be a temporary patch only until a real solution comes. The 780 owners were flying with old drivers even before this problem came, due to a previous problem, and then this new issue rendered that patch useless. Please, give us a good solution. I love this game, it is the only game I play, I purchased battle of Kuban early access recently and If this problem persists I will have to quit flying. One of the best things to say of this game was that developers really listened to the community and provided a good feedback and advice, but after this months I have to change my mind, because no one have answered our requests, not a simple "ok, roger, we are working on it, hold on". By the way, Geralt, what is your graphics card?

Lemon Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 hi, no crash for me anymore, Since the game is install , i had random ctd's, freeze or all screen become red and it was happening often , first i though running the game and opentrack as administrator was helping but not really for me finally, I did lot of experiments and i realized if i keep my gpu and the vram running under 100% usage i got no problems , i m running the game almost every day since 2 months at least with not even 1 crash . Before changing video setup in game now, i run the little software GPU-Z (yes there is alternatives to gpu-z but it s small installation, safe and well know) , it record the gpu and memory usage while i play (sensors tab of gpu-z), so i can easily check how my setting was using the video card resources . If you want to try it too, just remember some video settings use more the gpu some use more the vram ,for that i suggest you try one setting at a time. I must say , my gpu usage may be sometimes at 100% in the menu screens of the game but never had a crash there so far and i don t know if a too high CPU usage can cause any ctd since mine handle well the game. i m very happy to not have a ctd in a middle of a very good fight and i hope everyone can enjoy too My apologies for English mistakes

OKCHARLIE Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 Yeah, that's the problem I have. But in my case, the game worked just fine and was very stable until 2.009 update. So are you running Precision XOC to overclock GPU? I solved all my issues by turning this off. Worked instantly and never crashed since.
MikeDitka Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 I too have a GTX 780 and I too haven't been able to play the game in months. Driver 350.12 has no effect. Has anyone contacted support about refunds? I feel like that may be my best solution now.
