Attention everyone: I have replaced 4 Ju87 by 4 Ju88. Which means that now there are 4 Ju87 + 4 Ju88 instead of 8 Ju87 on the Axis' side.

Does that mean bomber pilots may switch the He-111 for the Ju-88?

Thx for putting it in anyway :salute:

PS. Sorry my english is not good

Hey, it's also my first time. I'm not 100% if I can make it, but I would like to take a He111 or Ju88 (whatever is needed).

How long do the mission usually take?

Usually the whole thing lasts 1:30-2:00, split in 2-3 sorties. Welcome! :)

And you don't have to stay for the whole thing. Hope you can make it!

I would finally like to participate this Saturday

and apply for a Yak if it's not too late :)

I could be a gunner for either side, need more practice before flying with the professionals as a pilot as Jim TM can testify.

Hey Manu, i'd like to participate pretty spontaneous. I would be late around 20 minutes. Is that a problem?

I'd take whatever plane/side needs support the most (favourizing the 88 ;) ). Can i yet get the Briefing?

It was a blast this week guys, thanks to all. Sadly didn't make it back to base on either sortie, and killed poor coconut flipping on a crash landing, but it was fun nonetheless! I'll post screens/vids at some point!

Thanks again, gents.  Sorry for skipping the second sortie...not enough practice in the Pe-2, I guess.   :)  Good fun.  Beautiful morning setting in the mission, too.  Almost pretty enough to make you forget there's a war on...  ;)

Had a great time in there today guys....it brings out the best in this sim.  New update looked amazing in there today as well.

2 ju 88 (Jade_Monkey & Rogge)
2 Bf 110 (5.ZG1_Haug & and myself)
2 109 F4 (4./JG52MANU653 & 4./JG52HUND)
All bombed up an flying at 2500km headed to bridges in sector 379
10 minutes to target and at my 3 o'clock 9km out I see a flight of 6 or 7 Yaks and Laggs co-alt. I call my escorts to action as it seems to me there must be some of our guys over there. Manu calls to the other 109s and knows it's not us...time to haul ass! I want to mention our flight leader took us just north as too avoid contacts and his strategy worked perfectly. Great job.
back to the flight...
The 88s & and 110s start hammering to the target. Our escorts of 4./JG52MANU653 & 4./JG52HUND immediately placed themselves between us and the Reds gaining a bit of alt in the process.
In the fog of making sure I'm not bring chased I veered off course and ahead of the flight a bit. This caused the 88s to arrive at target before us(without escorts as they were following the 110s who were off course). Jade and Rogge smashed 2 bridges in 2 mins. As we were all forming up to take down the third, the Unescorted 88s were jumped by 3 YAKs...we were just far enough away to watch Jade get smashed by what seemed like 500 rounds. Engines flaming and he is climbing like a madman trying to get away from PEZ and uRpark. (see post below for detailed heroics)

As Derrick is cutting through the other 88 I approach with Haug close by and send a volley into the Yak1. He still doesn't break off as I zoom past. Almost the same instant Manu slides behind derrik & fills him with enough lead he has to break off right away and head home. I see his stream of white smoke down below me so I chase after as it seems he may still be in the fight. After a few terrible shots by yours truly Derrik is forced to jump and live to fight another day. Haug was chasing PEZ landing multiple hits(In the battle he clipped some trees banking for a shot). Manu then turns his attention to PEZ as well. After having his wing Swiss cheesed up by Haug, he was forced to put that pretty red nosed Yak down in a cloud of dust dirt and grass.

URPARK saw Manu chasing PEZ & he was ready too deliver some swift lead of his own. On an extremely close pass he shredded Manus plane. Lucky for Saturday Night Bomber Flights, Manu hit his chute to safety. As fate would have it park wasn't to enjoy his victory for long. HUND was already behind him measuring his cannons. BoOM!!!!Park made a run for it and the last I saw he was fast, low and leaking from his tail. His plane was leaking too...hehe.

Costly battle for both sides but the Yaks sure got some payback for those bridges the 88s took down.
2-88s lost Jade and crew made ultimate sacrifice going for last bridge...nice one. Rogge and crew bailed out
1-110 crash landed in area of air battle pilot and gunner survived
1-109 f4 lost Manu bailed out
1-110 made it base crash landed on runway
1-109 made it home safe.

2 Yaks confirmed down both pilots survived I believed
1 possible kill (pilot surely needed new underware)

And this was just the 1st sortie! Please come join us guys...Lots of fun and friends to be had!

I also want to mention that Jade_Monkey should recieve an award for bad-assadness as he was the first 88 we saw go down and he could barely control that 88. He came about 10 meters from hitting that bridge with his plane and final bomb. That was amazing too see on the track...lesson to be learned fighter pilots. If a bomber is near a target and you think you shot him down, better be sure cause we will take something with us if we can.

I'll testify that you're a decent sort and I'll fly with you any time Spyboy. Salut!

Sounds like another great SNBF. Sorry I missed out this week.

He-111 report:

First mission we lost 2 Heinkels before reaching the target (1 due to disconnect and 1 due to misnavigation). When approaching the target airfield Kurmovka 3 Migs started engaging us. Gunners did their job and mine at least shot one of them smoking, but they took out my pilot in a couple of passes. The other 2 Heinkels heading for Kumovka were badly damaged but managed to disable the runway in suicide attacks.

Second sorty. Again 1 Heinkel lost due to disconnect prior the first waypoint. This time we faced no fighter opposition and went in to bomb hangars and supplies of Kumovka. Overall it was a very sucesfull run, everybody managed to score deccent hits and made it back in one piece.

What did not work so well (I've talked about it in TS already) was our fighter escort. I hope comunication on that part will improve.

Anyway I'm glad for everybody who joined our flight. :salute:

Yeah, that was fun! They really need to install seatbelts in these IL-2s, I say. Still not sure why my engine suffered a heat stroke. I'll have to check the recommended cruise settings again. I probably exceeded them.

In the second sortie we actually succeeded in disabling the runway. I did not see it during the game, but the replay showed the message. Those 3 ju88 we saw flying by got lucky, they made it through the yak escort and the 3 pe2.

Was tempted to chase those 88s, but those pesky mission objectives got in the way :P

I really appreciate your de-brief 6./ZG1_GrendelsDad and Stab/JG26_5TUKA . With these lessons learned we can just be better next time.

You are right Xenos in this kind of event we must stick to the mission objectives.

I put together an imgur album of my two sorties here: http://imgur.com/a/3CCCk (picture #5 is my favorite)

First sortie, I led four Il-2s to attack Sekretov. We came in from the north, making it to the target without meeting flak or fighters. Made some great attack runs. Unfortunately I cut it too close with the fuel calculation and due to waiting for escorts and hanging at the target too long, none of us made it back. I think 3 of 4 made it into friendly territory, however! So we just walked the rest of the way...

Second sortie, Xenos led us to bomb Chernikovsky (sp?) where we successfully damaged the runway. We were attacked by a 109 on the way home (got a few screenshots near the end of the album), but managed to fend him off. Sadly my damaged engines gave out just a few minutes short of a friendly airfield.

Awesome time guys, can't wait for next week!

For the next week SNBF

This is what I’m planning for with the help of the server and our own server JagerNeun JG52 for SNBF. And to bring an effective HQ on the Axis side. We already know what happen without preparation so.

SNBF HQ Axis side ( Luftflotte I.II.III or OKH anything)

  1. Bring the community to a step further in squad cooperation level and a taste of command and control. It will bring us depth and more possibitlity for coordinate effectively the different strikes, bombing and CAP to do in the SNBF Event.

      2.For coordination each leaders will know is objective sooner, so he can go on the server 4./JG52 to make recce during the week. Will plan is navigation, familiarize with the terrain and the threat to be able to exploit(not sure of the word) it during the SNBF Event.

    3.The best way would be with the help inter-squad cooperation for better C&C, but the the leaders can be without affiliation. In situation that we don’t have much many people in the ground attack we can modify on of the waves to use some bombers to fulfil even some fighters too can change for a waves(even some of us at 4./JG52 can do it).

The leader of element must:

-Be responsible of the recce during the week;

-Prepare and coordinate with the HQ by mail at least;

-H-15min RV on Teamspeak;

-Last coordination/# of waves/fulfill each waves;

-H-5min Set whisper on each leaders;

-H-3min Bring your element on each channel;

-H Hour Give the order of mission to your flight and the navigation;

-H+5min Give the order of march

-H+6min Taxiing;

-H+10min SITREP Radio between element leaders;

-H+15min Takeoff

The password for the Recce/training server will be the same that on SNBF event.
