JimTM Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Thanks p3zman, I was looking forward to joining in on what looks like a great turn-out today. Enjoy!
RustNeverSleeps Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 I'd love to participate if possible. Am flexible but woudl prefer an allied fighter, yak-1 ideally. Could also do p40 or other if necessary. Thanks. This would be my first Bomber Night match and would really love to give it a shot.
Alkyan Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 (edited) Is there a remaining yak? If so I'm in Or a 109, whatever balance teams Edited March 19, 2016 by Alkyan
J37_Spyboy Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Im a average RoF pilot and a poor BoS pilot but I could be a gunner or cannoobfodder for either side, I am in UK btw
SC_Manu653 Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 Spyboy you can join us on official TeampSpeak before the flight. Hauggy you're in too.

216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Exhaustion took its toll! I got separated from 5tuka after arriving late. Went to Zety and helped the Pe-2s to Lipovsky. Unfortunately due to my state the Pe-2 that was directly in front of me was bounced by a Bf-109. I failed to see it or react, and when I moved to get visual I snap stalled. The Bf-109s disappeared. Radio comms were confusing, there were about 5 other friendly aircraft circling Lipovsky. Somebody engaged the Bf-109 down on the deck but I still didn't see it until it came up smoking. The Pe-2s left. I tried to go to Gromoslavka but halfway through I got lost. Lipovsky fell under attack again so I tried to make my way there. Once again I got lost, but thankfully a LaGG-3 (didn't pick up the username unfortunately) was there and helped me get to Lipovsky. Over the airfield one of our Yak-1s was bounced by a Bf-109. The LaGG-3 went for it under the clouds while I climbed above them, hoping to get the Messer on the climb out. I was late, and what turned out to be a pair of Messers was already above me. I chased them from below without success - I had nor altitude nor speed nor the fuel to pursue them home. Already reaching my physical limit, I turned 090 to Moscow and Lipovsky. Of course, at this point the Bf-109s had seen me and dove down. Once again I stalled while moving... And our hosts at 4./JG52 put my engine to smoke, shortly dying as I leveled off from a dive. I put down my LaGG-3 without much damage somewhere west of Lipovsky. The Bf-109s flew over me. I waved from the cockpit, they fought neatly. The Messers flew west as I looked for the nearest road, in need is of a ride home and a bed. 2
BlitzPig_EL Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Sorry I missed it. Had family stuff. I have set up the BoS teamspeak on my comms so I am good to go for next time. Hopefully. S! 1
kurtj Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Great mission- as a Pe2 on the staff-pickup assignment, I was bounced by a 190 while in the landing pattern; immediately dropped flaps and gear and he overshot right past me just as I turned on final. Then our escorts cleared the air and it was a very pleasant flight back to Zety, which appeared at 12 low after I passed through a cloud, just as my tanks were nearly empty. My second landing of the mission was full of bounces and a mini ground loop to finish it off-- with just a drop of gas left. It's one thing to calculate mission fuel requirements like airliners today, but airliners today rarely lose 50% thanks to perforations installed mid-flight by FWs! I can say I am rather hooked on Bomber Nights. Cheers everyone! 2
SCG_Neun Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Thanks for the game, very fun Thanks for flying with us Alkyan....good eyes.
Jade_Monkey Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 (edited) I had a lot of fun today. Here are some screenshots from our bombing runs: 5tuka shooting me down after my successful final run: Hund and Manu coming to the rescue: Edited March 20, 2016 by Jade_Monkey 1
curiousGamblerr Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 (edited) Great flight this week! Thanks as always to Manu, coconut and other organizers, and also to for turning out to make it a good time. I managed to fly 4 sorties this week, in a bunch of aircraft. Got bored and wanted to play with Movie Maker so there's a video of the first sortie below. I might do more of the other sorties if I have time. Sortie #1 - IL-2s to Zyraninsky bridge and Surovikino AF I flew an IL-2 along with Eagle to attack the bridge and airfield with Yak cover led by Jordan. Bombs against the bridge missed, but it was already out. Eagle went ahead to attack Surovikino while I cleaned up German engineers at the bridge. By the time I got to attack Surovikino Eagle had been damaged and was RTB. I took out targets with rockets and guns at Surovikino (this is when I started recording below) before getting damaged trying to go head to head with some ack ack. On the way home I caught a pretty cool dogfight, which is worth watching the vid for. Alkyan chasing Stele chasing Muller up into the sky with bullets flying leading to a collision (I think that's who it was anyway). Awesome! Oh and then my engine died and I went down in a friendly field. Sortie #2 - Pe-2 Extraction Mother Russia needed Peshka pilots, and despite never having flown one before, I was strapped into the cockpit of a Pe-2 bound for HQ staff extraction out of Zahorov Airfield. After taking off from Zety, I led three Pe-2s west, flown by Eagle and KurtJ, with ample Yak and Lagg cover. The objective was to land, collect our staff, and return to Zety- my first Peshka landing was going to be under fire, apparently. (I should definitely look at the recording of this crazy mission) We made to Zohorov without incident, only getting jumped by fighters once we were in sight of the airfield. Escorts engaged, and they didn't have a chance for a second pass. We got on with landing ASAP, with KurtJ touching down without incident. I made it down second, but screwed up with the unfamiliar brakes and caught my props in the dirt of the runway. Unfortunately Eagle collided with a truck after landing, so only Kurt made it back into the air to return to Zety. Which he did, without problems, except a few spins on landing... Sortie #3 - IL-2s to Zyraninsky airfield Third sortie was a wash. We were three IL-2s on a mission with Yak cover, but ack ack at the target made quick work of our IL-2s. All went down, but all pilots survived. Sortie #4 - Yak-1 Scramble and CAP For the final sortie of the evening I scrambled a Yak at Kumovka to catch 111s, but was too slow. Instead, I escorted Eagle in an IL-2 attacking Zyraninsky airfield (thanks to p3zman and the rest of the fighters for taking care of the AAA). The flight ended with a massively dangerously awesome series of quick consecutive landings at Kumovka. Good stuff! Can't wait for next week. Edited March 20, 2016 by curiousGamblerr 1
SCG_CorZero Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Great images guys. Love you in your newly deployed chute, Jade! Flame-on! 1
ACG_pezman Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 (edited) That extraction mission was awesome, we were the most coordinated I have ever seen the VVS in SNBF. It was truely amazing to see the LaGGs provide low cover with a 2x of Yaks in Mid-cover and a 3x of Yaks in top cover. Then the Pe-2s appeared ith their close escort and were engaged, all three layers of cover sprung to action as soon as the enemy was spotted. Last sight I remember was a lone 109 running away with 5 Yaks in tow. Good work VVS! Edited March 20, 2016 by 71st_AH_p3zman 2

Glad that we will see you soon BlitzPig. I don't have too much time since yesterday (some studying) to fulfill a report from my point of view. But for the first time the VVS was not in inferiority. I'M very happy from this last event a good participation some news guys too a special thanks to 71st_AH p3zman for finding other people to come in the event. Now we and Lucas_from_Hell with the help of Coconut are preparing an coop training during the week. It will be held the Tuesday or Wednesday at 15h00 or 16h00EST (GMT-5). The training will last 30-45min and this week will be an ESCORT at two level from the VVS side. The CO of the VVS is under command of Lucas_From_Hell under is 55 IAP and a Mixed Aviation Division concept. The objective of this training is to learn and experiment some tactics with a de-brief of 5-10 min at the end for sharing our good and bad execution. This training is a coop held by Coconut, we plan to train with them each weeks. Lucas have already some people inside his 55IAP he may need some others people for the attack plane and fighter too. If you are interested to be in a team and learn or teach us I offer you to contact Lucas. I have a new mission from Tip for the next week guys !
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Thanks for spreading the word Manu - the IAP and SAD are still very much in the drawing board but coming along, the staff is still handling the paperwork As the unit hasn't been officialised yet, we can't hand out invitations at this point because we don't have something to invite you to, but do show up and see how you like the atmosphere, it should be a fun event
55IAP_Myrio Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 (edited) It's been a blast!First sortie: Flying cover for VVS armoured column near Bridge 554 (not sure about location) with p3zman, 5tuka in LaGG3. During the strafing (in hindsight of our own troops?) we lost 5tuka and attrackted some company. Two Messers circled in. While p3zman kept his cool and managed to get one trailing black smoke, I had my heartrate clouding my vision I saw the trailing 109 turning back into the fight and heading for p3zman. Luckily he did not see me above and so I could dive on his six and shave his left wing of. When two more Messers joined the party, I realized, that I was too far away from my wingleader and did, what worked well when flying Messers in SP: Dive down and full throttle towards your wingleader...when I saw the tracers passing, I got the message. Do not try this with the LaGG ;-) Seconds later the tracers connected...lesson learned. No pictures here as I forgot to record this part.Second sortie: Cover the Pe2 extracion flight to Zahorov followed by armed recon towards Bridge 446 with p3zman. When we arrived at Zahorov, the Pe2s turned to final. Some 109s tried to put them down in a more detructive way just to find themseves in a maelstrom of Yaks and LaGGs. I started to record with poor Jizzo hunted down by the bear pack... Then p3zman and I went for the armed recon. During ground pounding I lost connection. The next 30min were spend in futile attempts to get back online Thanks to everyone for a great evening! Edited March 20, 2016 by Myrio 2
216th_Jordan Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Liked that mission alot although being hung over a little! hope to fly with you guys again soon!

SC_Manu653 Posted March 22, 2016 Author Posted March 22, 2016 (edited) If it's useful we can change the number of planes available for the purpose of the mission. Like more 110 and less JU-87. Same for the VVS if they need more fighter or more bombers. Edited March 22, 2016 by 4./JG52Manu653
SC_Manu653 Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) I need to know who are the leaders of the fighter elements and bombers elements on each side! If you are appointed as leader of your element I will send you're objective and recce info sooner. With that you will be able to coordinate your navigation and planning for your command during the week. As Axis side 110 will be Specter. Me for 109 JG52 .May I suggest Pz3man for fighter VVS and Pe-2 JimTM ? Not really leading but give time to planning the flight . Edited March 23, 2016 by 4./JG52Manu653
