We've got three more ju-87 pilots joining if at all possible, Henri, Rambo and Baedeker.

Would it be possible to have a gunner join too? if so, his name is stretch.

Quick AAR:

Sortie 1:  I and Tzigy were to fly MC's as CAP.  Tzigy's idiot ground crew hooked him up to a live 10,000 volt line and fried all his electronic (?computer) circuits, rendering him grounded.  I took off, but my plane suffered sudden loss of all systems shortly after departing the airfield.

Sortie 2.  I, being fed up with local fighter maintenance, hopped in with the 110 boys, and 3 (Vonalba, Milopudog ,and I) of us headed out from Cher. and linked up with the other 3 (Wild1, GendalsDad, and HarryM) from Sek. AB on the way to target.  I felt like it was Friday the 13th when my electronics again crashed on the way, but was able to get a lift to Sek. and join our fellow pilots. We ran into fighters on the way to and back from the target area, though and several planes were lost.

Sortie 3:  I was asked to lead our 5 surviving pilots in our 110s and we made a glorious departure to the east.  We were engaged enroute by 2-3 red fighters, and Wild1 managed to destroy the notorious Manu, and our 109 escort, Jizzo, destroyed the villainous P3zman.  Alas we lost HarryM,s plane to JimTM and suffered 2 others damaged.  We still made a succesfull bomb run on the enemy airfield, knocking out hangers, bunkers, artillery and aircraft.  I was taken out by AAA, which also claimed Vonalba, and last I heard GrendalsDad and Wild1 had given the enemy .ell !  We are getting bandaged up, and will get revenge later tonight!

I can't do the second flight. The late spring sun is blasting against the shades in my game room and messing up my trackIR, can't really move it out of the way unfortunately. I'm going to have to get a trackclip pro to see if that can help me out.

Hey guys-

So sorry the server died! I appreciate you all sticking with it to give it a good test. Sucks both SNBFs ended up with lag issues this week.

It's a cloud server, so I can easily change it's size. Next time, I'll err on too powerful instead of trying to get it as small (cheap) as possible. I won't be here next weekend, but maybe we can give a more beefy one a test in two weeks and I'll throw some serious computing and networking resources at dserver and see how it goes.

Once I get it configured just right, it will be pretty sweet because I can spin one up all over the world (e.g. in Europe, NA or the Pacific) depending on the timing on SNBF.

Appreciate the patience.

AAR#2.  Well, after lots of sutures, plasma, sulfa, and a few amputations of minor appendages, we 110 bomber pilots again climbed aboard to attack the red hoard.  Our first sortie took us from Sek. to attack the western approach to Kalach, where, after starting our ground attack, we and our fighter escorts engaged enemy fighters.  Vonalba and I escaped eastward and destroyed the enemy train south of Kalach, and Milopugdog and GrendalsDad took on the enemy fighters along with Turk and I believe Doughboy and Hund.  On our way back, Vonalba was attacked by 2 enemy fighters in his damaged (by AAA) aircraft, and I sprinted toward him and managed to get some hits on one of the enemy before being crippled myself (crash landed, but poor Milo in the gunners seat was KIA).

Our second sortie took us from Cher. to the ground targets at Kol., where Vonalba, GrendalsDad and I pounded the emplaced tanks and ammo depots.  Milo's aircraft  blew an engine on the way, lol.  We then proceeded toward targets west of Kalach, and Vonalba began engaging them, when the evil red enemy unleashed their new weapon (EMP we suspect), which brought all fighting to an end.  In the end, we managed to get revenge for the earlier losses of the day, and made the reds pay dearly.

Our flight of IL-2s dealt multiple hard blows to enemy tanks:

In the end we ran out of tanks to shoot, so we jumped into Pe2 to attackl Surovikino. Thanks to our escort lead by Manu and p3zman (sometimes at the same time, made communication more interesting ;) ) we were mostly undisturbed. We suffered a loss in the last flight, and in the first flight Nocke's engine died 100m from the runway at the worst time (the pilot survived), but other than that we felt pretty safe and could focus on our targets on the ground.

AAR for 2100hrs event:

We had no bomber pilots available for the event. We decided that we should split up our fighters groups into: 12thIOAE as recon (Lagg3s), 19G were to cover the train as it made its way to Kalach (Yaks), and TWB were split up into two man teams (P40s and Lagg3). The P40s job was to scream down from the heavens and blast anyone unlucky enough to be in their line of fire. I got sorted with [TWB]Krupinski in a Lagg3 (I'm not part of any group); therefore, we were tasked with covering Gromo airfield to the South. We fully expected the large group of BF110s to come down on the train, hence why we put the 19g (the largest group of us) on covering the train. The 19th had the most important job, but was probably the most boring (as I don't believe anyone flew a BF110 during the event).

After Krupinski and I took off from Zetty, we began patrolling from Gromo to Northwest of Gromo near the Lipovskiy airfield. I believe we did two or three passes at around 4000 meters with nothing sighted. About this time, the 19th reported that the train was nearly home and Snake and Stick ran into some fighters around Kumvoka Airfield (near Kalach). The communication between each fighter group was really well calculated. Every group checked in periodically, and everyone notified the rest of the fighters if something changed.

Once the 12th made their call over the radio, Krup and I turned North. However, not before TWB in the P40s came screaming down to tag a fighter. I believe Snake and Stick also bagged one each. Saddened that we didn't get to itch that trigger finger, we headed back to patrol Gromo again. Almost immediately, we heard over comms that another fighter group was in the area of Kumovka. Once more, we turned back North. This time we didn't make it to Kumovka, as we got engaged around Lipovskiy. Krupinski (being the better pilot of us two) saw the 109 way before I did and turned into him. I followed along to watch the master at work, and to cover his six. Additionally, I was tasked with letting the rest of the fighters know what was going on, but in my haste I fumbled the map in my cockpit and couldn't let the rest of the group know where we were. Eventually, I found our location and about that time, Krupinski bagged the 109 he chased down. After the engagement, we headed back to our lonely patrol over Gromo. While on patrol (and slightly bored from flying without seeing anyone), the train arrived at Kalach. Everyone on comms gave a half-hearted cheer, as the arriving train felt very anti-climatic without any Germans attempting to attack it, as expected.

Still on our first flight, a group of friendly PE2 took off from Karpovka - I forgot who these guys were but I believe it was the 12thIOAE - heading to bomb Surovikino. We had been in the air for more than an hour and had yet to see any BF110s, and only got into an engagement once (and not even in our area). Suddenly, the comms lit up again as a third report of fighters over Kalach and Kumovka came in. We raced from Gromo to Kumo but the P40s beat us there again, and destroyed another target. We patrolled Kalach for another 15 minutes as we were nearly out of gas. In total, I believe we flew around (leaned out) for more than an hour and half. We decided to return home because we had had enough for the night.

It's ashamed we didn't run into more engagements during the night. May I suggest some differentiation depending on sign up size? As an example, if you only get 20 sign ups make the map size smaller. Or if you get 100 sign ups, make the map huge. The world seemed very empty with the limited number of players we had. I'm not saying that I need an engagement every five minutes, but there should be something happening more often than every hour and half. Still, I'm very excited about the next event. Thank you, thank you, and thank you for putting the event together. I know a lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes, and as a new pilot, I really appreciate these events.

Little video action of the first dogfight with the Yaks...

Very interesting. Amazing what a difference the icons make when reviewing. A great way to analyse things. I will make a couple of changes to my aircraft set up I think...  Everything was very dark in my display, but it`s quite light in the vid. I may adjust my brightness further.

Nice AAR guys and videos.

Sketch it was my first time that the VVS flew without bomber so the mission was little mixed up.

For the 2nd sortie the 110s had been separated into 2 groups, we arrive in the vicinity of Kumovka to find the 1st group of 110s already engaged with Yaks, we join the fight.

OK, last one...

Heading to finish off the train and attack Karpovka, all the aircraft seem to be in the same vicinity. Yaks who were escorting the 3 Pe-2 on the way to hit our airbases break off and attack us. I am saved (for a while) by our 109 escorts who come racing back from Kalach area. My radiator is fatally damaged and I am forced to abort but pick up an unwelcome escort.

Flight lead:AW_CoreZero (name should be coolzero as he remains very cool under pressure)

#2 HarryM (aspires to be a movie maker in hollywood oneday)

#3 Von Alba (Extreme Ground Pounding skill activate!)

#4 MiloPug (Super fighter pilot but sent down to fly the 110 after many questionable flybys of the airfield tower)

#5 WILD1 (name says it all)

#6 GrendelsDad (the guy who put the big target on all the 110s!) guess who was flying at the back of the formation?

1st Sortie saw Core Zero lead us to target area over Kalach...shortly before reaching target area Zero suffered an EMP strike and was disabled with MILO assuming flight lead.  On comms as we arrived at first target MILO was recalling his last SNBF when he was shot down by flak and well you know what happened next....

post-21047-0-94001400-1466385980_thumb.png

Soon after destroying first target the 4 110s headed south to the train station to intercept the supply train.  On our way HarryM and WILD1 made a pass on the train.  Knocking the boxcars loose on the first pass and they were able to stop the engine 1/2 mile further down the track...not without a cost.  WILD1 lived up too his name and flew a bit close to the first explosion and well, you know what happened next...

post-21047-0-25343900-1466386406_thumb.png

Just as HarryM and Vonalba were making a final run to the steam engine We were jumped by what looked like 3 Yaks...Vonalba receiving heavy hits almost right away.  I made a course to get myself above Von inbetween him an attacker.  This worked but....now what?  After HarryM landed hits on 1 Yak I was in big trouble...the other 2 were on my six and landing hits right away.   Not sure who but Harry or Von went down pretty quick...as I was leaking bad I had to bug out.  On my way home I spotted a single Stuka who was now under attack by the YAKs...I did my best to get to him and I did land hits on Seafire and force him to disengage but his manuvering was a bit too much for my badly damaged 110 to handle and I was forced too land just under Seafire....Like a scene out of the movies as I watch Sea climb slightly away the 109s had found us and were there to give some level to the playing field.

I do believe we lost 5 of 6 110s...and sent at least 1 Yak down and 1 other away badly damaged.

1 pliot and 5 gunners lost on first sortie...

We have yet to tally ground targets...but there were many.

2nd sortie:

This is how my short 2nd sortie went thanks to a double head on pass from P3Z followed seconds later by Manu...I was locked on your other buddy who was on Harrys 6 and I never saw you guys down low...nice pass both of you.

post-21047-0-97665800-1466387253_thumb.png

Also want to give a shout to the Yaks...you guys fought very well tonight...and especially that NEWB!!! JG53Drifter!!!you sir are a beast.  And your flight mates did well to keep your tail clear as I had a nice lead on you and Seafire or someone else ripped into me.  Good teamwork guys.

Tiger actually, as TM stands for Tiger Moth (little picture on left). :-)

Normally, I'm the Wildebeast in my Pe-2 except when I fly in the "herd".

Cheers!
