Against I-16s and Mig's, was that how it was? (don't take that wrong mission builders, I'm asking because I don't know.) I know in this phase we are early war so E7's, maybe along with the I-16's still ran and ruled the roads at that time? Is that why we see them?

I just asked because BK asked us to take a look at it, but it's supposed to be an august 1941 scenario but the German fighters are primarily E-7?

I mean I like the E-7, it flys very well, but by August 1941 the F was predominant in fighter squadrons.

Or are the E-7 in this scenario tasked with ground attack?

I want to be clear to other players thinking about joining. I never task any pilot to an assignment - the pilots, who are players, make their own decisions based on the objectives outlined in their pre-briefing. Normally, these decisions are discussed during the 12 minute pre-planning phase of the mission. In this particular mission, the BF109E7s do have the option to take bombs, but I'm not telling players to take bombs and deliver them to XYZ. Having said that, it would be cool to have someone whitelisted as a Flight Commander. This guy/gal could be counted on to show up, tell the Flight Leads (using whispers to each Teamspeak channel) what to attack, and lead his side to victory. I created a vip slot this week to test those waters, but so far no one has taken that slot. Does anyone want to step up to the challenge? You get to have the biggest bomb in the game!

 

Next, before this thread turns into a historical accuracy argument; let me post my philosophy when creating missions.

Our philosophy at The Wet Bandits has always been to have fun. With that said, I did attempt to stay as historically correct as possible while seeking to ensure that the fun factor remained the top priority.

 

Making missions is an exhaustive process. Writing briefings, creating images of objectives, generating webstats, balancing/play testing, and fixing bugs; all of these things consume a surprising amount of my already limited free time. Within these limits, I prioritized my time to focus on architecting missions that were engaging, fun, and provide entertainment for all types of pilots. Though time and effort indeed also went into researching the events that occurred on the Eastern Front, I very well might have errors in exact dates/times, locations, unit names, etcetera. Please forgive any such mistakes or omissions as simply a by-product of the limits of my free time.

Mig-3, not I-16, was shot down.

So if the Germans are running out of beans and bullets, the Russians will Have very limited aircraft numbers as their factory capacity is reduced to just a quarter of full production?

 

Also, before the end of the mission all red targets were wiped off if the map except for the supply train.

Both industry targets we're gone completely which made us switch to the arty target, which also vanished after our attack.

 

Do the targets not vanish from the map when they are destroyed? Or just when you fly over them?
