We are mostly adults here, I think we can handle the piece of "Naughty Language". We aren't in Kindergarten anymore. And any of the Children Playing this Game won't be hurt by the Occasional Swearword. 

It's silly. I can understand banning excessive, targeted abuse, but the Occasional Bad Word shouldn't be a bannable Offense.

I think you have it exactly Reversed. In a Public Space I can say whatever the Hell I please and not give a Solitary EFF about what People Feel about it. Unless I get up in someones Face to the Point of Harassment I can say whatever I please in a Public Space, using my Freedom of Speech. 

People are free to judge and dislike me, but they can't ban me from Public Spaces just for Speech. 

 

In a Private Space, like my Flat or a Server I host I have all the right to Kick you out on whatever Grounds I please, wether I don't like what he sais or even if I don't like the way he looks, even Skin Color or whatever Discriminatory Behaviour, I can be the biggest SoB I want to in my Private Space and others have to Respect it or Leave, and whenever I enter someone elses Space I accept and play by their Rules in turn.  

 

The Question is wether your Host is a Retirement Home full of Holier-Than-Thou', Backstabbing, Sanctimonious Fragile Catholic Great Grandaunts in their late 80s who will die of a Heartattack upon the mildest of Obscenity or wether it's your Pals you have a Beer and a Laugh with and exchange Dirty Jokes with and whatever.

 

It's on Crusader to decide wether we should speak in a Manner suitable to a Catholic Retirement Home or a Fun Evening out with likeminded People you can have a Proper Laugh with.

Programs is not so smart to divide naughty words by usage context. You may write your own program to detect bannable messages (server commander is driven by python code). But you need to explain people, why one man was banned and other one was not for probably the same messages. Rules should be simple and understandable to all. No matter their nationality.

I don't know how it is where you live, but here in Germany we live under a Rule of Law and that means that all punishments are handed out Indiviudally and everybody is allowed to make his case BEFORE he his punishment is being decided upon. 

 

And there are differences. If you have a crazy homeless guy like me just running in Circles, occassionally screaming Obscenities at People walking past but otherwise harmless and sometimes outright Nice and Helpful you shouldn't treat him the same as the guy who gets in people's faces, threatens and harasses them, and is generally a Burden to their daily Lives.

 

That's like saying Self Defense, Accidents, Manslaughter and Murder are the same.

I was kicked out yesterday for some reason, I did not get the message why. But I am guessing my usage of the A**ole in chat got something to do with it. Would it not be a great idea to be able to read why you get kicked before you actually get kicked.

I was kicked quite a while after and next mission so I am not sure, I was attacked while taking off, and frustration that sole second made me type. I am not angry on my attacker, more a bit frustrated about own fighters not bothering hunting those attacking airbases.

Anyway I am sorry I get childish at some point, the time consumed getting the pitch and such in PE 2 35 series does that to me when attacked in airbase

1. Banning users based on context of foul language used need a human moderator watching the chat 24-7. There are limitations of coding.

2. 24-7 moderation is too much

3. If foul language goes unchecked, it will turn into mud wrestling contest. Participants will be mostly unshaven middle aged men.

 

Unless you are into that, no profanity rule is fine.

I think a Complaint System would be more adequate, the Server is small enough for the Admins to handle that. No Anti-Profanity Rule, but a Harassment Rule. 

When I tell someone "You just fucked me up royally, S!, Good Shot" that shouldn't get people banned. 

 

I someone is repeatedly attacked and harassed by other users he can prove that through the Chatlog to the Admins and that kind of behaviour should result in Bans, and if excessive amounts of Profanity are used that should just be an aggravating factor. 

 

This is a small Server with a rather Civilized Crowd, these cases will be few and far between.

Because we are Grumpy and Emotional with a Love for Expressing said Emotions.

Yeah I'm aware of all that Klaus, we Brits are great at swearing and I love it. However, the server owners don't and are asking for this one place to be kept free of it. I'd hope we are all grown up enough to be able to live without typing a swear word. I mean you can swear at your screen until you're blue in the face, just don't type it.

I think the Topic of Profanity should be just as viable for Discussion as any other Gameplay Topic. And sometimes I understand if People Airing their Anger at people they're not on Comms with over the Chat. 

And sometimes they want to enhance their Positive Expressions and get banned for enhanced Positivity. 

 

I also just find it Highly Offensive to Infantilize/Americanize my Language with those inoffensive, insincere Slurs like "Screw" and "Fudge" or "Sheesh" which absolutely Drive me up the Wall, Insane and Nuts. If you want to get me to the Point of Physical Violence against you, that is the perfect Way. 

Just thinking of People talking that way already gets my Eye-Lids Fluttering in Anger.

I like being naughty and a bit rebellious, and I dislike that overly behaved Behaviour because it normally hides a nasty and insincere Character. I value Honesty and Sincerity more than anything, because far too often the Nicest People are the most vicous Serpents out to make your Life miserable. 

 

I also like Cats, because they are Jerks wether you are are there or not, while Dogs will Lie to you and Cheat. Just put a Camera in your Room and as soon as you leave he will do everything he would never do with you present, jump on the Couch and the Counter etc.

When I met my god, he told me not to enforce his point of view to other people. A lot of religious people show a regrettable lack of humility. That's the secret behind "swear words" imho - they don't hurt anyone who doesn't want to be hurt. Live to your own standards and accept there are a lot of other standards, too - the world is colourful.

But anyway, yesterday I flew my PE 2 Series 35 on a level bomber mission . At 3,5 K I got hit in both engines and fuel tanks . I flew for 20 minutes with only one bad engine against time (7. minutes before mission ending when I landed) I manage to land and the feeling of accomplishment was tremendous until it was trashed by the message after leaving "ABORTED FLIGHT" 

Now that is probably the most cruel thing to do against a pilot after a feat like that

After-flight messages don't mean much and often differ from the real game results/stats as Retnek has pointed out

I noticed the bug: after you land, turning off engine procedure sometimes is blocking. To fix it, you need to press ignition button again (engine on), and after one second turn it off again. Watch the procedure if it's finishing, if not, repeat turning on/off.

I have a mutual agreement with most Clubs and Bars and that is that they don't let me in because I'm fat, ugly and poor and I don't enter becaue I'm fat, lazy and poor, the Music, Food and Drink tend to be Horrible, and there are much better ways to spend my Money. I much prefer places with a Biergarten attached where you can actually talk with people over a Pils and Casserole

 

The only Club I have entered yet is my Local Aeroclub and the thing I do is shape it to the way I like. That's what I do with most things I encounter and it's probably in my Genes, coming from a family of Airfield Owners, Grandpa being Head of a Cruise Line Company and Dad being a Diplomat, to Shape the World around me to my Preferences. Otherwise, why would I argue on here, why would I be on the Board of my Aeroclub etc.?

 

I like make a Difference and I like to argue my Points and make Change happen, maybe I come over as a bit Trollish sometimes but that's just me being myself. Nothing Bores me more than straight Conversation.

Allrighty, did my first succesfull runs on this server. Had a hard time navigating but it's getting better and better. Landed a BF and HE111 succesfull across the whole map.

 

Only hope i have enough credits now to actually find and bomb something

Difficult but good server

It's also the amazing Maps that are detailled enough to allow for Cross Country Navigation  so easily. It's easy to Navigate something like CloD where you have Coastlines and everything, but really Difficult on a Place as Flat as the Stalingrad and Moscow Area.

The damn wind directions and strength I had a perfect lineup with wind set at 10 degrees left and 8 . had to turn meaning changing the wind direction to directly front . All my bombs fell to the right of intended target. That is the price going 3,5 K . But it is fun, managing to navigate and nurse the plane back. When it counts. I manage to build up some points for the squad
