Hi. I have never been a tank sim enthusiast but these tank missions that are now an option are enjoyable, I find that your life expectancy in a T/34 is far greater than the Pz 111.

 

To stand any chance against the T/34 the Devs are going to have to supply us with ad leased  the Pz IV  with 75mm L/48.

 

I played a mission with the T/34, managed to get into the village and got a track blown off, so I just sat there knocking out any German Armour that came near until i ran out of A/P and H/E

 

You would be lucky to get far into the village in a Pz 111 with both track in place before getting knock out !!

 

 

So perhaps the Pz IV later down the track ??

Well to tell the truth as an experienced panzer ace:P (I have Kharkov 1942 and Tiger x T34) the PIII is great challenge.

 

Now I have learned to calculate range using the gunsight ( that's very important because you cannot see where the round lands due to gun smoke) you can be a threat on the battlefield.

 

You need to know enemy tanks weak spots. Usually I try to shot T34 tracks and then go flanking.

 

Yesterday I killed a 34 1000m away. It was a side shot direct on turret ammo rack. I managed to kill a KV1 with a side shot too on the turret from 200m.

 

I would like to have the StugIII :)

What I really liked too was to fight enemy AI arty and gun emplacements.

 

Someone could make a big player vs AI defense system mission. That would be cool.

Veteran66 tank missions have enemy PAK guns.

 

Type for people complain about PzKpwf III weakness: Play with T-34, problem solved.

 

So no "weapons race" is need (I want Panther, I want Kv-1...) what make the already done models be abandoned - You dont see much LaGG in online play, but people asking for... Me-262...  :P

 

In Mp I was blown up in T-34 with only one PzKpfw III shot.

 

Downsize: You have to deal with the Stu'Kamikaze pilots, that drop the "most common" ordnance of Eastern Front, the "Hollywood" (good for smoke) 1.000 KG bomb, and most time follow the bomb in the process.  :happy:

No weapons race. Just make playable the tanks already in game. So face to face battles will be possible.

from playing the 2 official DED tank servers, i think the next step in tank missions is to eliminate the tank-radar (in a full-ish real server). there is NO stealth, hence no strategy, with that map that shows the location of every friendly and enemy tank. it needs to go. the only thing it allows is a shooting match, in which the t34 has the advantage, and negates any other skills a tanker might use.

Veteran66 tank missions have enemy PAK guns.

 

Initially my tank mission had a couple of AT guns protecting the river crossing, but they were like snipers destroying tanks across the river and behind the trees.

You couldnt see them and they could snipe you from a distance, so I removed them.

 

I think they may still be in the mission file, but just not activated.

 

Hopefully I can design a mission where they are not impossible to defeat.

Although I'm not a fan of tanks by any means, especially in a flight sim, here's a good idea for a tank mission...

Having the tank battle In Stalingrad itself with Russian tanks having to drive straight out of the factory in Stalingrad like they did in real life
