Thanks for your kind comments everybody, as other skinners are concentrating on other 110 units I'd like to stick with ZG26 aircraft(early or later but not  110g's) but I am running out of resources her in the U.K. so if anybody has any full colour profiles either side view or three view of ZG26 110's please PM me and i'll give you my e-mail address so you can send them to me or if you want put them up on this forum(skinning resources) as I 'd like to do many more but have no more profiles to use as references now.

I thank you all again for your kind support.

Hello,

I don't work as fast as you guys, but I'm also making skins for the BF110.

My first skin will be a plane of the ZG26 :

151129-BF110E-001.jpg

I've just started the paint scheme as you can see ... there is still a lot of works to do to get a decent weathering.

Stay tuned !

@Viper : check Wing Pallette site (http://wp.scn.ru/en), there are plenty of profiles (the one above came from there)

Hey Ventus do you have any more reference photo's or link to the top aircraft.

I'd like to give it a crack.

Cheers,

Boomer.

It's a Bf 110 G-2 of Stab/NaGr 1, summer 1943.

Thank you all for your friendly comments.

They are the best support I can dream of.

Hi Zargos! I would fade the greens a little, it would blend in the game much better. Maybe even lighten them a tad. Great work otherwise!

You're right.

The point is that the colors in the game are different from those in Photoshop.

Some fine tuning to come ...

Zargos:

Bf110C-2 W.Nr.3044 3U+AN (ex-3U+AP) of Oblt. Theo Rossiwall, spring 1940.

Rossiwall was StaKa 6./ZG26, but 19.05.40 he was trasferred to 5./ZG26, "Pik As Staffel" as StaKa.

He took his aircraft with him, just overpainted "P" to "N".

"A" letter was not red but black with white outline.

Hello gentlemen.
Today two skins on the original version C.
I hope Eduar again mistaken.  The second inspiration is three color camo decal sheet aircraft from the company Aeromaster.  Indicated as a machine III. / ZG 26

Sorry to dissapoint You, but:

1. Weissenberger got only first 5 victories with 1.(Z)/JG77, then STaffel was renamed in 10.(Z)/JG5.

2. He flew LN+PR as his regular a/c, before he got Bf110F-2 in may 1942.

3. 2N+IR with Oblt. Kriegel's emblem "Eagle catching lion" was a temporary emblem of 7./ZG76 in winter 1940/41 (Eduard is telling about II./ZG76, wich is incorrect again :) ).

I give it up.  Your knowledge LW are amazing.  I searched a bit, because I suspected treachery.  But I found only one reference and he probably found Edward.  It is equally wrong.\n Eduard produces high-quality models, perhaps it would be able to devote more effort in finding work when it's their livelihood.  I can only hope that exchanged "only" a pilot unit that has a camouflage least some basis in reality.  Well, next time you might prefer to ask before he do something stupid. :dash::biggrin:

Weissenberger also flew some other aircrafts occasionaly, and eeven was shot down by Pe-3's flying Lt.Koch's LN+BR :) When he got Bf110F-2, his code was LN+MR.

P.S. I a focused on Bf110 history research from early 2005.

Understood, and I salute the bravery of the soldiers in your family.

Thank you for the pictures, they are really interesting.

You're right about profiles, a lot of them are not exact. Nevertheless they give an idea of what the plane was. In this way they help the skinner to choose what plane to skin. After, pictures help to make something as close as the reality as possible.

At the end skinning is for me the art to find the right balance between historical reality and ingame aesthetic.

Right now I've fixed all the bugs at pannel junctions but I cannot find a satisfying color tunning. There is something wrong I must find out.

I hope to show you something soon.

In the meantime, I'll enjoy to watch your skins for this bird.

Cheers.

So today, another attempt to find out whether Edward made a mistake again.
Unit and camouflage and markings with the photo seems to agree.  The name of the pilot not.  Try this time to believe the picture from the website

Morning all.

Panzarbar since 2005 is huge dedication and passion. It is really  to be admired and the efforts and passion shows. We certainly look forward to travelling the road south with you  :)  :)  :) .

Enjoy the skinning and we as the benefactors of this  (and also the work all  skinners) will enjoy looking at and flying these aircraft. As with everything worthwhile many hours of hard work etc goes into  any product but at the ed of the day there will a feeling of great achievement.

Kind regards.

:salute:

(Note: Panzar do you perhaps have a copy of Jochen Prien's Jagdfliegerverbande Vol. 9 #2)

The Wespe is the work of our one and only Panzerbar, who was kind enough to help me out. I spent 2 days aligning the bee on the nose, but was nowhere near the perfection he achieved. He will hopefully also correct me if this plane should be RLM 74/75/75 instead of 02/71/65  :salute:

Reflected:
1. S9+EN. Almost all correct, but IMHO colors are weird a bit. Aircraft was probably delivered from another ZG unit (ZG was disbanded around late july 1942) and was overpainted - note fuselage sides overpainted in plane color - what CP artist -C. Sundin- missed).

13.07.1942
5./ZG 1
Bf 110E-1 W.Nr.4054
Bei Lisitschansk / Rußland
Jägerbeschuß. Bruch 50 %.

Pilot:

DIBOWSKI, Wilhelm.
(DOB: 21.03.14 in Allenstein/EPr.). (DKG).
07.12.42 Ofw., awarded the Ehrenpokal.
19.05.43 Ofw. in 6./ZG 1, awarded the DKG.
1944 Lt., in 6./ZG 1, then trf to III./ZG 76.
1945 Lt. in Stab IV./JG 53.

1_Bf_110_E1_ZG1_5_S9_EN_WNr4054_Dibowski 1354272619_ggg.jpg

One more S9+EN - note different camouflage:

S9_EN_2.jpg

It was lost on:

02.11.1942
5./ZG 1
Bf 110D-3 W.Nr.4305
S9+EN
5 km östlich Fl.Pl. Krasnodar / Rußland
Absturz nach Start und Aufschlagbrand. Bruch 100 %.

Fw Grünther, Herbert Flugzeugführer +
Uffz Grünacher, Herbert Bordfunker +
Obgfr Bedorf, Ernst Bordmechaniker +

2. S9+IN. Note - ZG1 never used G9+ VbKz. It is mistake with roots from 1980's. II./ZG1 used following VbKz's:
II./ZG1 - jan.'40 - july'40 - 2N+
as III./ZG76 - jul'40 - apr.'41 - 2N+
as II./SKG210 - apr.'41 - jan.'42 - S9+
as II./ZG1 - jan.'42 - nov'43 - S9+
as II./ZG1 - nov.'43 - july'44 - 2N+

S9+IN with remnants of winter camouflage (probably march 1942):
Bf110_179b.jpg

And one more (summer 1942):

76175251_YGr_BUj_ph.jpg

3. Look at "WW2 Photoalbum 16 German Fighters over Russia", pages 86-90. In short: it is ex-Stabstaffel./St.G.77 aircraft with full set of StG77 eblems, wich was sent to NAGr.1 and new owner just was too lazy to overpaint emblems. You painted only death hand, but missed StG77 "Schwartzkopf" emblem :)
