JG4_Raven Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 yeah...the last patch was is a problem for everbody Server running now
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Sever was on fire just now. One Pe-2, one LaGG-3 (yours truly) and one Yak-1 for the VVS side. The legendary stuff started when what appeared to be two Bf-110s came onto the Southern Position. One of them evaporated, and the other turned out to be a He-111! Right on its six came up our hero, 13Nrv, manoeuvring his Pe-2 like a natural heavy fighter and properly grilling the Heinkel. The enemy, however, was not taking a defeat. The He-111 was also pulling some sound BFM repertoire, and through the gunner firefight 13Nvr had fuel tank damage and broke off. I plunged in with my LaGG-3, ShVAK loaded and ready to party. Knowing the He-111 is full of thorns, I made sure to never actually sit behind it or anything, so I kept pulling high then coming down for a snapshot and this followed for about 2 minutes where the Heinkel even added a vertical element to the fight himself, but clearly I wasn't letting that get in the way. After catching fire and entering final, this noble opponent crashed short of the runway. One down, no time to celebrate though - two contacts over our Southern position again. I break through the pair and chase one 109 westwards, carefully looking for the second one but it's nowhere to be seen. He can clearly leave me trailing and he uses his speed to assure just that, so after a while of putting a lazy chase while climbing I break left and sure enough he comes, fully horizontal, towards me. The first merge happens without hits, so we go again - he continues to go for the flat turn so I put my LaGG-3 on the vertical as often as possible to get any edge I can should he attempt to climb. He comes in for a pass again but I have one up my sleeve, and sure enough I bring my guns at him while he passes wide, piercing his fuel tank. I lose contact there and then, and I presume he went home after that. As I climb out and prepare for a short flight home I see our front airfield is under attack - once more, two bandits, this time level with me, 2000m. These are 109s, too. It's hard to put the ensuing fight in words - the Messers are in great coordination taking turns at attacking so I could never manage to take one on without the other having a shot, and I fail constantly to capitalise on the snapshot windows presented after defeating their passes. Lots of people regard the LaGG-3 as some sort of useless fighter but by all means it's tough, fast and can send the bandit rolling all around - it's a slightly underpowered masterpiece Out of ideas and airspeed, I decided to take the noble way out and disengage. These fellows are flying well, they are all over me and though I am denying them a chance to fire it won't be long until I am overwhelmed. I dive, first to 1000m, defeat their passes and then down to the deck, compass reading 90º. They come after me, of course, and I fight back in whatever terms I can muster with my skill. I manage to defeat every single pass they make, but in the end the pressure makes me cave in and I snap-stall with my nose down... I mustered a recovery to some extent and from a deadly nose-dive I nearly pulled out but failed as my wing clipped the grass. Alas, I was alive, and the roar of the Bf-109s was clearly heard through the cracked cockpit frame. Good fight with these two, they didn't hit a bullet but they fought well and in the end it paid off. Two minutes later up I go again, this time in a La-5, to cover whatever needs covering and escort whomever needs escort. Passing the same airfield, I see the same one Bf-109 circling over it at the same 2000m, with our flak hitting hard. I engage and this time, I think to myself, I have some good handle of the situation. This time the Bf-109 is the one forced to head down, I always have a good eye on him and my speed and altitude are swell. As we go slightly lower than 2000m I feel a little speed wouldn't hurt so I force the engine. The 109 is finishing a split-S when woosh! A grey Bf-109 flashes right by my cockpit. F........ they're two, and probably the same old two. As the second 109 joins the fight, the engagement quickly swings towards them as well and through a botched evasive (pulled too hard, too fast) I have my engine and fuel tanks hit, wings all holed up and rolling involuntarily to the right. Now that went south quick. Undeterred, I had to make it home so I point East right away and try to use the Yak-1 which was nearby to cover me. Only one 109 gives chase, and while I try to fight back (stupidly - the runway was 2km away) my engine dies and I jump over the Volga. The Yak-1 was damaged fighting off the 109, but both pilots survived just fine. Good fun 2
13Nrv Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) ; i' ve seen both of them too , and the funny thing is that i was too thinking that it was 2 Me 110 . At that time , i had chosen the one who were the closiest ...because yes my fighter was a real heavy fighter due to 2X500 kgs on the belly , i had promised to deliver in time at their Southern Headquarter ... so ...approaching , to be honest , i found those 110 had a curious tail , may be a special weapon of the luftwaffe who knows ...but whatever, i was full throttle and 2.6 on the propeller right in his six ...so let s roll ^^ ...i burst him with the not so deadly armament Pe 2 got in the nose ...wish i could have launch him one of my Fab 500 ...and yep his gunners was accurate , ...i make him smoke after some passes , and then ...i go back to make my delivery job to their head quarters , with holes in my wings and heavy fuel leak , and a load of german lead . Landing was not so great to tell the truth .... Thanks for the fun all ...next time i ll pick up an il 2 with 8 rockets rather than a Pe2 + 1000 kgs , especially to chase the secret weapon of the luftwaffe ( the masked He 111 lookin as a 110 13 Edited February 22, 2016 by -LaFrench-13Nrv 1
SCG_Vonalba Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 That was great flying on ur part Lucas, was good time <S>
NN_Elanion Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) Elanion en Yak : Died once without seeing anything for a ground attack: objective neutralize the flak.Died in a stall ful flaps during combat with evil sharp scissors.Neutralization of flak (except high altitude flak) in the South.H 111 spotted to the red base to defend but 109 immediately reinforcement: we graze twice but soon he go back towards its base (H 111 disappeared).A long dogfight against a FW:FW neutralized, then "bingo" 20 seconds later.Long ++ range combat (a good pilot maybe ? ) against a rocket (109 F4 I guess ?) who attacked Lucas but "bingo" again. Lucas: sorry for not having managed to better defend yourself.difficult and intense moments and pleasurable in Yak (too hot air for the Klimov engine ) against good pilots. thank you to France for these enlightening experiences . 216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Thanks, Vonalba Elanion, on the opposite! You actually saved me because you kept Vonalba busy while I flew back to base in my damaged and slow plane. After I caught up with you, Volnaba had to divide his attention between us two. That way I managed to get closer to base without being killed. That was a fun session!
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Fell prey to Flesch's Fw-190 once more, in a Yak-1. I bounced Flesch near the Soviet S. position, with 500m of height going for me. Missed a few passes, saw that he had a gear down, wrote "Fw, gear" on the general chat, tangled with him a little more and ended up on his six but with no closure. After that ensued a tailchase that led to nothing, with Flesch flying with gear-down towards his base. Despite full RPM and throttle, with oil temperatures getting close to dangerous, he had a decided edge and once airfield flak started I broke off to see if he was going to land or come after me. The second happened. He was drawing near but I waited. I saw his aircraft fully flapped out and with gear down while in my Yak, but I didn't make much of it. I threw in a little bit of vertical and thought that with all that drag, at the same altitude, and with my decent climb rate, I would easily leave him trailing and fall right onto him. Nope, didn't happen: Flesch the hero caught up with me and sure enough a burst wounds me, busts my engine and my ShVAK as well. My fault there for not taking a threat seriously. After that, wounded as it gets, I managed to make it down to Soviet lines through a lot of barrel rolling, kicking the rudder and pushing the ailerons all the way (the only way to bring a Yak-1 around that wounded) and popping flaps whenever I nosed down to compensate for the lack of pitch authority and prevent me from hitting trees or mother Earth. I saw my Southern position again, and dodged another of Flesch's attacks as he disappeared in the blood. I needed to stay still for a short, short while. Just a bit to crash land safely. The trenches and AAA were right in front of me, two more seconds to go... Then Flesch nails me and kills my already wounded pilot. The Yak-1 crashes but remains in one piece. If only I was 5m lower!

216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 The server was pumping today, 20 people or so, then suddenly everybody left once the round was over. Nonetheless, us five remaining brave warriors had fun. Schmausch hit my tanks then my engine, and while we fought a pretty fun disengagement battle a second wildcard joined the fight and fired at him. I took my chance and made it to the airfield, but Schmausch got a well-deserved kill since his attacks rendered my engine useless and resulted in a crash-landing. As suspected, it turns out he was attacked by a Bf-109 so thank you whomever you are Right after that me and Myrio went out hunting for ground attackers and sure enough a Fw-190 showed up beneath us. We attacked in turns, and in the ensuing mess 13 bumped into the fight in his Pe-2. The Fw-190 clearly took the chance and attacked him, while we rushed to catch up. Myrio managed to get ahead and forced the Fw-190 to disengage, leaving 13 alone in his damaged Pe-2. The Fw-190 had taken hits and we weren't letting go either. I was starting to lose faith, thinking the 190 would get away, but it seems the damage held his speed back a little. Myrio pressed on the attack firing from a distance and soon enough the Fw-190 erupted in a fireball and climbed up. This is a great server for anyone wanting to have some good fun
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Another fun sortie today, this time courtesy of Kastro with the Yak-1. Took-off, formed up (impromptu, no voice comms). As we head to the Don at about 1300m [because we're too cool, altitude is for weenies, right? ] I see flak blasting over the airfield. 'Contact, nine low.' As we approach the area in a gentle climb [in the presence of enemy fighters altitude is no longer just for weenies]. Fortunately for us the enemy, seen to be a Bf-109, is too busy strafing things to care. We dive, and our target takes note of our presence. The Messer takes heading westwards as we come in at upwards of 600km/h, drawing ever closer against his measly 500km/h or so. Kastro slides ahead of me and I position myself a little above and behind. The Yak takes aim... bingo. Desperately, the Messer pulls up hard and enters a negative spin. Kastro blows past him while I come close. I can sharpen my climb and take a potshot at him at the expense of my energy, but I decide not to, instead gently entering a zoom climb. The 109 never recovered from the spin, and plummets to the ground. One down. We keep station at the airfield to see if the Messer had any buddies incoming but after a few minutes we head towards the tanks, this time at 2000m [after encounters with the enemy, altitude is what it's all about ]. As we approach the area, a large explosion is seen on our side of the Don. A lonely Bf-109 slides below us. I initiate a zoom climb while Kastro engages. As my nose drops towards the engagement, I see that Kastro is directly behind the Messer but the separation is constant. I use my extra altitude to enter a shallow dive. I must be at about 2500m now, slowly decreasing, while they sit at 1200-1300m. Trying to lose Kastro, the Messer gains some speed and initiates a vertical climb. ...which killed him, ultimately. As he reached the top, I was coming right at him making a nice 600km/h with my nose pointed for a perfect shot. The ShVAK and UBS hammer his aircraft in a very brief burst, he tumbles and the pilot bails out instantly. Two down. Kastro RTBs on low fuel and I am left alone. My time was up, too, so I decide to make one single high-speed strafing pass at the enemy's southern position. As I dive, having picked a target, a phrase flashes through my head. "Greed kills." I ignore that. One second later a 37mm flak shell rips my tail out. I bail out too low, and thus, I am dead.

JGr2/J5_W0LF- Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Hey Guys we are currently looking for a new server to populate when our server is not running. Do you guys have unlocked bombs for the G2 and also does the server have some AI so shoot against when there's no other pilots on. We enjoy your server so I would appreciate your reply thanks in advance....
StG2_Juuti Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Hey Guys we are currently looking for a new server to populate when our server is not running. We enjoy your server so I would appreciate your reply thanks in advance.... Sorry Badger, there is no AI on FL. We planed the implementiation of AI with a threshold 'count of players'. Less players the AI begins to spawn. But unfortunally our map-maker is absent for some mounth. Perhaps, we can fit one of your maps in the rotation of FL
C6_Zorkaiev Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Yesterday, part of our french squad (C6) flew on your server. We enjoyed the rules applied and various trimmings. Thank you for your important work. The only small complaint was the proximity between the bases and objectives. If you could remote bases and objectives, we believe that the missions would be perfect.
StG2_Juuti Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 (edited) Unfortunately, we must cut the maintenance effort to a minimum. The fighting legends server is only a fill in for the time when the TAW-server is absent. The main focus is on TAW. By reason of perfomance the FL is shut down when TAW is runing. The C6 squad flew effectiv mission on our KG13-server during the good old 1946 times, so your heartily invited take part on TAW. Edited August 30, 2016 by StG2_Juuti
