ATAG_Slipstream Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Don't know if its been mentioned yet, but will there be an option not to see that skin in game? Skins off, or not downloaded on my comp etc? I tend to like more historical skins personally, and in RoF I only had historical skinpacks. 1
thx1138 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 DD #37. So basically with the Premium edition paying now, you get the 190, La5, founders skins, a couple unlocks already unlocked, and you can jump in and play it when it gets better - still months before release, and paying less than on release day. I see no scam, you get more than you will at release with less money. I think a LOT of people expected to be able to get online, fly with their buddies and shoot people down first and foremost. And or they wanted a QMB, or ME and setup their own offline missions and shoot stuff down. Basically I think they expected the 30% done part to mean that there would be bugs/glitches, incomplete maps, etc. Just never occured to them that 30% done means just that, a LOT of what we take for granted in a flight sim is just not there ! 70% of the sim we will not get...
BeastyBaiter Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 The skin should be in the skin folder like all the others, delete it and it will show the stock skin instead. At least I'm assuming that's how it will work.

I've never seen a game in my twenty years of gaming get released seven months prior to it's release version be remotely close to complete. A month sure, but not 7. Thanks, I really don't know why I missed that one, one thing I'm not clear on, is the retail premium edition not going to include the La5 and FW190?
FuriousMeow Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 It does. I'm not sure if they require unlocking though.

SeaW0lf Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I am excited about the test and the image indeed looks very good with 4AA. The founder's skin got much better too. Thanks for the tweak and for listening to the comments, because now the skin is going to be a keeper for me. I am also looking forward to a friendly mission editor and some ammo's smoke and chilling blasts. Godspeed,
BolsBlue Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 So this first Early Access doesn't include those who bought the Standard Edition, right?
DD_bongodriver Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 So this first Early Access doesn't include those who bought the Standard Edition, right? Not as early as premium, winter 2013 for the standard guys.
=BKHZ=Furbs Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Thanks for the update and details, i think BOS is in very good hands. Very happy to be involved in this sims development from the start. That 109 looks just beautiful, hands down the best looking 109 ive ever seen modelled in any sim. 1
MadTommy Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) Thanks for the update. I'm glad I decided to hold off on pre-ordering. Playing a 30% complete flight sim is not my cupa tea. I'll await the feedback and see if it is worth pre-ordering come spring 2014, seems Spring is when it will be getting to a playable level. Edited November 1, 2013 by MadTommy 1

FlyingNutcase Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 A sensible and solid roll out plan. Looking sweet. I had no interest in flying the LaGG-3, but that's in the process of changing. :-D
wombatBritishBulldogs Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Have to say the approach of No weapons is a good decision makes for stress free testing ,So now the fun begins

Playing a 30% sim does not bother me at all, as I have beta tested numerous times in the past. However from what I understand, I will not be able to access until sometime after the first of the year anyway now, due to the schedule they have set. You guys have fun,
HoH Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 However, HoH your reaction to all news is very sharp and you will no doubt insist on significant changes during the course of development. LOL funny error you've made.

Whilst I agree with this, I figured that even if I don't play it til it's playable I'm not losing out by pre-ordering Premium
Jaws2002 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) Smart move on your part then. Playing a 30% sim does not bother me at all, as I have beta tested numerous times in the past. However from what I understand, I will not be able to access until sometime after the first of the year anyway now, due to the schedule they have set. Same here. I have seen this working team plan and test patches and releases and I absolutely understand that, if this is how they decided is the best way to test and release the early release, they know why. However, I can not agree with the decision to keep all of us in the dark about this restricted schedule, for months, while the preorders were flowing. This developement team is very rigurous and organized and i can't help but belive this wasn't planed last week. Again, i'm not acusing anybody. It's what I feel. This now means this three days middle of the week will go right through the hollyday season and then be followed by a five days a week, most likely Monday to friday. In my opinion, very poor decision to keep this schedule secret until now. This is reinforcing my decision not to ever preorder anything from 1c soft club. I'll get what I think I want, when it's out. dburne Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Yeah this is first time I have ever pre-ordered anything, and the kick-starter for the other one, was the first time I ever did that. I will not do either ever again, I think I have learned my lesson on this go around... Other than the two month deal on the 3 days limited access, it was a nice update. At least I know a sim will be released eventually and I guess I will eventually have it - just not like I had thought. 1
Neo Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Pre-ordered in a flash, looked great, looks better all the time. Insanely nice image quality, skins a bit dorky for me, but well done with the updates, really looking forward to the release.
Aqua Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Fantastic skin guys , its great to be in this right from the start , looking forward to the next blog and all the testing over the coming months ,thanks for keeping us all up to date
Klaue Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 S! THX boys keep up the good work can't wait to fly.
arjisme Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Will there be some kind of documentation/guidance provided with the early access to explain the use of plane controls? For example, the takeoff procedure and general procedures for managing throttle, propeller, radiator, boost, temp while in flight? Also, will the same info be provided with each new plane as it becomes available?
VoodooGT Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 777 Studio and 1C team seem to be working well together and your progress is developing nicely. I am looking forward to the open bata as a time for me to hon flight skills. Thank you for your hard work and creativity.
Rjel Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Good update, I'm looking forward to the roll out. I thought the 109 skin looked pretty cool too.
AnaRasanen Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 No Founders skin for my plane. Seems like it will take several months that this game is worth testing for me, but at the mean time I can watch some awesome Youtube videos of the game I'm sure you guys will be making a lot. I'm happier and happier I bought only Standard Edition and saved 40 $ to spend for add-ons in future. 1
79_vRAF_Friendly_flyer Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I did not see it mentioned: Will the skin folder and templates be available right away, or will we have to wait at bit for it?
Felix58 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 The staged release is obviously a good idea from a development perspective. Did the early access mention it was to an "alpha" version? If so, I don't know what punters are complaining about.

I know Requiem is already working on training videos. I can often be found on TS3 and am more than happy to help rookies out as well. Undoubtedly there will be an official or commonly used unofficial TS server. Such things will be setup at release. Edited November 1, 2013 by =LD=King_Hrothgar
Wulf Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Thanks for the update. I think the Bf 109 as depicted in the screens is simply glorious. It just looks wonderful, IMO. That said, the actual skin is a little less to my liking. I have a strong preference for historical skins. However, what really erks me more than anything else is the absence of historical markings on the tail of the aircraft. I understand that some people may not be permitted to display swastika markings because of ludicrous anti-freedom of speech and anti-freedom of expression laws but some of us still live in countries where this type of hysteria is not yet fully in control. That being the case, it would have been nice if we had been given the option to download a Bf 109 wallpaper with historical markings. cheers
334th_L0C0 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I didn't vote for the skin that won, but it's a good looking fictional skin now that I see it completed. It has a very WWI look/feel to it with the tail done like it has been done. Reminds me of some WWI schemes I created and used on WWII planes in IL2. Good job. As for the rest of the update... I'm desperately trying to cope with impatience ....Thanks.
ACG_Dickie Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 All the comments are fair enough but guys .. We need to consider that just 11 months ago none of this was even on the horizon. I am sure they were working their plan but none of this was on our radar at all. I would have still kicked in at the same rate being fairly confident that whatever I bought would be more expensive in the final product but that's me. Please keep in mind what FSM said in his first post in this thread as the days progress and a lot of this sinks in and please be patient even in the shadow of your dissappointment. Correct. Ask yourself what was on the horizon a year ago......... 2
Bf-110 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I guess the 109 looks exactly like at the photos! If someone cut and paste a real life pilot on it people would surely say it is an actual airshow picture! Can't get much better than that.

Founder skins will probably end up joined to the default skins in the encoded compressed game files. Would otherwise be not much of a challenge to reedit those *.dds files for everybody. Count on the devs for that. Thx for this nice update, looks great. Looking forward to try some flying Edited November 1, 2013 by West
SOLIDKREATE Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 After seeing it applied to the model I LOVE IT! Even though I am a historical purest. I want to see it with a yellow defense band and yellow under wing tips and radiator cowling.

This being alpha afraid not, will have to wait on Requiem's YouTube vids for a while yet. http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/1844-instructional-videos/ He is very impatient like Bob Vanderstok (mission editor). But what would you want him to show with 30% of the goodies available. Those guys need the lot to deliver. Edited November 1, 2013 by West
FlatSpinMan Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Osprey - 'lie' is a strong word to throw around. We are getting early access to the game. It's not full, and that's a shame, but it is still early access. I can see why people are annoyed or disappointed in the news though. I'd been hoping to have more things available earlier, too.
