Salute all,

 

As you can see from my profile I have not pre-ordered, the only reason of which is due to current financial constraints. I am feeling a bit worried for the BOS development team now due to some of the posts in regards to the days available to fly.

This sim is being offered to an enormous and diverse group of people,all having diferent occupations, interest  religions and " work times ", and so on ------ of course you are all tied by a mighty powerful piece of passsion called flying and love of aviation ( in this case WW II aviation )

To me, in accepting and volunteering (eventhough you did pay to volunteer to be a beta tester), you accept all the unknowns that go along with this. I am sure the BOS team are glad to know you feel free to voice an opinion and I am sure they listen, but if I were on thir team I would be a bit freaked out by some of the remarks concerning refunds and so forth. It was stated that this time frame for the days offered is subject to change and that the purpose was to allow discussion of what folks are finding with the sim on weeekends. " we'll begin with 3 days a week of early access for you – typically from Tuesday through Thursday. They days available to fly may change or be adjusted, but for now this is what we will start with. Such a period is the most convenient for development needs, and we hope that you realize that while you play it we keep programming, drawing, planning and creating the game. Friday we'll remain as the day for weekly developer diary in which we'll be telling you the results of the past session and announce what is coming next. Weekends are for you to discuss your IL2:BOS experiences and share your impressions and thoughts." 

I certainly understand the frustration for those that cannot fly Tue-Thurs, however by expressing tactfully I am sure the team will adjust course accordingly and the world will again be spinning in greased grooves.

72 or 48 hours,  means nothing to me. I can't play those days at all.

While at first I thought this wasn't a problem because I can play. I have now thought about how I would feel if I couldn't play on those days and had paid a premium. The answer is simple really, if you think about it. I would feel pretty peed off like some people on here. I think the alpha should have been free until there was no restriction on times. After all, alpha is only used for testing and wouldn't have hurt sales. Some people should put themselves in other people's shoes before commenting.

Well, it was pointless if it was free. They milked it for four months ,like it was a normal PAID ALPHA, like the 99% of other PAID ALPHA software out there. Now we are told Ah by the way, it's only available in the days you can't use it and no offline as well.  Tough luck.  Thanks for the cash.

We allow discussion from all sides here, but we will not allow continual flogging of dead horses. It just creates tension and divides what is already a pretty tiny community. Nor will we let talk hostile to the developers to go unchecked - remember where you are.

I THINK IT WOULD BE A MISTAKE TO LOCK THIS THREAD!

 

It might be considered, by some, flogging a dead horse if there were no new posters weighing in on either side of the controversy but this has not been the case just yet.

 

There seem to be new posts from founders and non founders who have just decided to post their opinion and even though they post pro or con the developers decision, they are new input.

 

So far this dust-up has pretty much been contained on this forum, it has not spilled into the three other mainstream english speaking flightsim sites that I read, although it is beginning to.

 

Threats of locking may be enough to shut down dissent or intimidate some members here into shutting up but might ultimately do the game more harm than good.

If the 72 hours alloted to fly BoS in the beginning is in any way comparable to how time has begun to drag in this thread, we are all going to get more flight time than we can stand.

I just want to say THANK YOU.  For deciding to role this game out in stages that you can control and rapidly bug hunt and fix.  I just got done playing some BF4.................OMFG, I cant believe that it made it to market in that shape.  Its actually unplayable.  Stutter, rubber banding, lag, and CTD's   (actually sounds like CLOD when it rolled out (but yes, not now) ).  Thank you for having the foresight to get this done in a responsible manner, even in the face of short sighted criticism.  We will all be much more thankful when this roles out 99% bug free.

Аnd of course results of the poll about the unique skin for Bf 109 F-4. The number 1 candidate (with the Ace of diamonds) won. Special wallpapers and in-game screenshots will be published on the forum later (possibly today) - we worked hard on this one.

As a big fan of BF 3 I was hoping BF 4 would be even better tho coming out so soon after BF 3 I was dissapointed they would roll out a newer ver so quickly. Now I feel glad I didn't jump in on BF 4, and will not for a while to come.
