yes the I 153 would be really cool and x times better than an old slow unarmed plane

Fw 189, flying glass house would be neat

I was told by Han last year that the Fw 189 was a possibility for the game :)

It's pretty obvious that you are only fixated on zooming around in a fighter and shooting things down... but for many here, WWII aviation has many facets and roles that need representing in the game.

Many get immense satisfaction in taking an old and slow aircraft into a very dangerous situation, trying to complete a specific task and return without damage or injury.

That in itself is a huge challenge and rewarding if done right.

Oh for sure, the gorgeous Fw 189 is at the top of my wishlist, I just figure that a new plane would warrant more fanfare than "something cool" - seems more likely to be some smaller feature that they've wanted to do for a while but haven't had time, like improved fuel management or female pilot models, both of would be very welcome!

I feel like a kid in a candy store.

A more or less off topic question but I wonder why is this good old biplane is commonly referred to as the Po-2 internationally.

It started its service in the days of type-based designations (I, R, U, SB, TB, etc.), everyone called it by its original designation U-2 throughout the war just like they called the I-16 like that instead of Po-16 yet nobody in the English world calls the dear U-2 a U-2 any more!

gib DD 175

I keep wondering, what You're trying to express, by throwing in german vocabulary without syntax and no grammatically context.

By the way, "gib" is an imperative, which is never a kind way to ask for something.

You're right - perhaps a simple lack of politeness?

I've been so impatient all morning. This tease got me all excited for today's DD.

All of your speculations are wrong. They will be adding four new player tanks to the simulation... two for each side!

Hey, I can dream.

lol, Thad... I think you need a tank sim, not a combat flight simulator  :P

I would think that it's to avoid confusion, since most westerners or at least Americans think of the spyplane when someone says "U-2" rather than the old biplane (which I am very much excited for).

I'm hoping it's a language thing but a particular poster needs some serious work on the politeness factor here.

Yup, if you are wondering if it's you.....

But I think it is to late for a dd today

Don`t worry just yet, they`ve posted DDs sometimes much later than this  :)

If it's coming it's gonna be Jason who does it, and he's on the West coast of the US, so not so late there.

Yes at 10pm (22h) in Europe.

We were working on it late, but something came up so I let Daniel decide when and what to post. I had to leave. I fly home in the morning.

If we get the U-2 it would be marvellous to have a full training campaign for it. Imagine becoming proficient on the U-2 and then progressing to a MiG-3.... THAT was the challenge the real pilots of WWII had to deal with.

Torpedo suprise!

And this my friends was post no. 2222 of this thread. What a landmark. How many F5 keys have we worn out while sitting here?

May the excitement for the DD never die!

We are all in the same case.

Old DD is no longer pinned. What could this mean?  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)

So, what surprises in store for today/tomorrow?

I wonder if this will be the last of the “month of surprises”, or if we’ll get one next week as well?
