Yak would be nice, but further details on career, especially the kinds of missions we can expect and how they will be structered would be much appreciated.

Pretty sure the last DD stated this next DD will be Yak. But more is always welcome of course.

I googled yak 7 pics expecting all yaks to look the same Are they all two seaters ?

 

We've seen the untextured model for the Yak-7B we're getting here: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/168-developer-diary/?p=463745

 

 

Ours is pretty late in the Yak-7B production run. Just as the Yak-1 series gained a lot of refinement in small blocks over time... so too did the Yak-7 until it became the Yak-9 (where the refinements continued).

Yeah, even later versions had the cut down canopy. If I remember right, the factories kept building these late variant Yak-7B bubble canopy versions straight through until they switched to Yak-9U production.

It's worth keeping expectations realistic. We already know which collector's aircraft they are planning to make, and we know they are fighting against the clock to provide the already extensive feature list they've announced. I am confident the new feature will be something related to those already planned, and I'm sure it will look pretty neat, whatever it is

Realistic expectations? ....hmmmm... they've fixed so many of the smaller niggling issues that it's hard to come up with suggestions to what little extra goodies could be coming.

 

Only things I can think of is improved visual damage (bullet holes etc) on the planes and some kind of improved radio comms.

We need a checklist of all the goals set in DD120 that have been completed.

 

I know Venturi had a thread about the P40 and engine limitations/damage modeling in general. He mentioned more realistic modeling of detonation could go a long way in curing some of the current engine problems. I've seen this is actually number 17 on the list of difficult tasks in DD120.

If you're referring to his post on the last Dev Update, I didn't get that as the takeaway. I did get that the team would not be releasing any more major patches (the big content ones) between now and release. Dev Updates weren't mentioned in that post. I'd be willing to bet we'll see about the same frequency as usual there although we may see some off weeks which is typical too.

Haven't they been posting DDs on Fridays lately? I mean I'm with Finkeren I dont expect to see them as frequently since the big crunch but dont get your hopes down just because Thursday didnt happen.

No need for content patches but would really like the sound bug fixed. Wearing cans I jump out of my skin everytime I hear it.

 

Be nice to have better engine damage modelled to. Based more on what one reads off their guages than timers from hug message events.

 

I like flying according to prop pitch, engine rpm and manifold pressure. Add fuel mix and temp into the picture as well as bullets and it keeps the mind ticking.

 

The BOK release end of year or early next will correspond nicely with my cough, Christmas present to my self.
