Let's not... they enjoy the challenge  :clapping:

I'm also pretty sure they are capable of telling us if they want us to stop being pro active on the forums.

A 20 would be nice and the HS 129, these will occupy me for some time.

I am always happy with up dates on 2.012.

Maybe some progress updates on the new flight models?

Aircraft updates also fun. Maybe we can know what to expect next?

Sorry guys. My. Gaming rig took a dump on Friday. Power supply failure again. I have the parts to build a new rig I just need to sit down and do it. Mine was getting old anyways. I'm on vacation net couple weeks. If I get it going soon I'll share some pics.

Been through a few of those myself. Good luck Jason!

General advice, not necessarily a comment on Jason's rig: Never cheap out in power supplies. It can take down the entire system with you!!

Of course it can still break down but it's more important than most people think.

That's why I only use high quality Gooblebox technology.

Shouldn't you own NASA computer?

Personaly no need for another pics since we are on the verge of update release, aimed ETA would juice up things but i know it's unrealistic to ask......

My imaginary date is 27th and counting days till it even it's summer and i barely touch my rig.

Couldn't agree more. A good quality power supply goes a long way. I would go one step further... I've always bought quality PSUs for my systems, however, good surge and even battery backup can help take things a little further. The last two systems I've owned have been done in by power surges.

The first time a transformer in the neighborhood blew up after a heavy rainfall. The second time a driver wrapped his too much power for too little skill sports car around a hydro pole causing surges all over town. Since then I've invested in a UPS with a lot of extra surge protection. Hope that'll do the trick!

Yes, I used 80+Gold  for a long time and now using a 80+Platinum.

Stick to reputable brands such as Corsair, Seasonic, EVGA (Superflower is the manufacturer), Cooler Master, Antec.

If you are considering a specific PSU, look it up in JohnnyGURU.com for an opinion from an expert.

Another good point. Gold at the very least!

Indeed, but another questions awaits: Team Red or Team Blue for the boss' CPU? ;)

I have always bought good power supplies. For whatever reason, I have had some go bad the past couple years, but this one lasted several years. Anyways, I'm due for a newly built machine as I have been slowly buying parts for this very reason. I just hate the process of building a new machine. Used to be fun, now it's a chore.

Good luck with it. My home build has lasted me six years now with only a graphics card update, and it still runs your awesome sim beautifully.

Hope the build goes swiftly with no issues.

When buying a PSU, always check what it can do on the different voltages. E.g., a 750 Watt PSU won't do 750 W on the 12 V bus alone. Make sure that consumer load on each fits your PSU. You can kill a PSU when drawing too much power from a single power bus! Each power bus ADDED makes up your advertised power output. How many Watts per bus, you find on your spec sheet. See if it matches your GPU(s), your SSD/HDD etc.

Just going "on the safe side" by using a very very powerful PSU is also not the best option. The "gold" or whatever labels are only relevant if the PSU is actually under considerable load. If on standby or when doing just office work, you cause very little load on the PSU in regard to what it can do in total. This means that efficiency of your PSU drops dramatically and is nowhere near its "metal colors". Having way too powerful PSU will turn your PC in a heater for most of its use.

There are also people who argue against PSU with cable management (plugs on it instead of all cables soldered in), because you draw a lot of power through what can be very cheap plugs. With any kind of wiring (same as ethernet), the plugs usually are your source of problems. Personally, I wouldn't take it that far, as I like the idea of the cable management, but it is something that one should know as "another point of failure".

I used too build my rigs from single components and had fun like you. But now I trust my PC merchant for 20+ years more to handle sensitive hardware with better care than me. And it's only a 60 € service charge per desktop (And I can give him already bought parts to complete the build). I'm content in installing all my necessary software afterwards.

I just built my own rig for the first time and I'm happy I did. I was happy with my PC guy for years, but I wanted more control over my machine. I bought one part a week until I had them all and then threw it all together. And I even upgraded the CPU a month after I built it, and I'll up the video card when I can afford it. I like the control and ability to future proof the rig.

As for cable management, well, every cable is inside the case. That's a plus. :)

I'd still like to know what parts Jason is going to use.

What are good power supplies for you? As a general rule: "There are not many what are indeed good". The same goes for the other pc parts, too.

Maybe something runs hot and failure?

Depending about what PSU you are talking about - firecracker? Good 450W PSU can handle the 1080 GTX Ti + Core i7 7700k with 95 TDP or AMD Ryzen 1700 with 65 TDP if you not plan to overclock the Ryzen.
