DD today?

Recommended Posts

Historically I don't bother giving any energy to DD's, they get here when they get here.

I'm always curious when I see a new one posted, and always enjoy seeing the progress, but I typically won't log on just to check for them.

That's changing more and more though the closer we get to Kuban, and it will definitely change completely when Midway is in development.

I'm looking forward to these next few aircraft coming out, the Spit....and especially the A-20.

When the Zeke get's to the point where it will drop any day, I'll need medication.

Of all the things in the pipeline, I want the Kuban map most of all. This sim needs mountains!

Oh yeah...that map.

Looking forward to that too.

So, are you saying, that it's a fiberglass replica? I kinda doubt it.

I'm saying that it is definitely not a real '109 and I'm giving you an example of another WW2 aircraft that is not real either.

If it is a replica it is a bad home made one.

Correct!   and all replicas come under the 'home made' category, surely?

Don't believe me?  You've noticed the cockpit and that something is "terribly wrong" with it. Congrats.  Now look at the wheels.....Messer or Transit van?

Not sure you are right. Too many small details are in exactly the right place and of exactly the right shape for it to be a poorly made fake.

To me it looks more like an actual 109, that has been badly damaged and haphazardly put to together again and then suffered decades of repainting and people walking all over it.

Looks like that 109 has been stored in some parking lot and it has been hit quite a few times with shopping carts in the past 70 years.

Personally, I think it is a giant piñata made out of tissue paper and balsa wood. Late in the evening the kids get to smash it to pieces and scoop up sweets whilst the crowds cheer.

(Whilst some shady characters mutter that it comes apart much too easily from far too few hits, or the kids must be hitting with the power of Olympic field athletes)

I could of course be wrong.

lol!

I can see that now...

I might be in the minority, but im glad they had just a couple of VVS skins. They are pretty boring in general. Id be pissed if i was in Jason's (or Han's) shoes.

They have seen worse. If all we have to complain about (and I was the first to complain) is the selection of official skins, then things are obviously going pretty darn good.

The weird thing is, I think the default Russian spit skin is one of the best looking of the bunch. Something about the dark gray and red star accents looks good.

Weird , but I have a longing for it too, it must be the first time in years

It's strange, there is no feedback on any thread or post anywhere, let alone this post for some time...

Yeah I liked it too.

I'm not one for garish paint schemes anyway - unless it's a 109E, 190, or one of the 9th AF P-47's.

Yes, I've seen a lot worse here too. However, sometimes the straw that breaks the camel's back is not the biggest one.

Nah I'm sure we get pretty annoying sometimes but these guys are way too professional to let it affect the business.

I just tried to fire up Il2, and got the message "Checking Version......Failed to Update"

Is this a bad thing that requires action on my part, or does it mean that they are in the process of prepping for an update?

Maybe they're at E3.

There no way that is a real 109 unless it was cut apart with chainsaws and reassembled by a high school autoshop class with no reference materials available.

Did anyone else think their computer had crashed while reading his comment?

More on topic though, my F5 key is getting kinda worn out lately.

Be positive.

Han is working hard to release the Spitfire so he has not time to visit the forum, and Jason is probably at E3 2017.

Bad habbits, that's what it is...

1C / 777 has acustomed their users to weekly updates, which I find irrealistic for the complexity and amount of work behind the scenes....

Of course just like when educating a youngster, the more we give her / him that is really not useful, worth the have, and just develops a frenetic search for more, irrespective of the true necessity for it, the worst the end outcome for their lives, specially in times where the words "give time" / "wait a while more" have such a negative connotation...

I seriously would rather prefer to know that the good reason is that the 1C / 777 Team is enjoying some highly recommended and deserved days off, in holidays - just as we on this side also call for so easily....

And again, I have to ask: Where in the designation "DD" is it written that it must be at a weekly pace ????

It was interesting to see the reactions after the Spitfire was shown to the public ... and most of the morons here like "mimimimi to few soviet skins.... mimimi"

Whats wrong with you guys .. those are skins!!!! SKINS!!!! You can paint yourself. Im realy happy with the model, with their amount of work they put into this plane and damn i am happy to have it in the new il2 game.

So, long story short .. thanks Devs  :salute:

I think different. The weekly updates are one of the many efforts of 1C / 777 to reach out to its customer base. It projects an image of reliability. And as a fanboy of Oleg Maddox's style it awakens sweet memories in me. Jason, Han and the team bring Oleg's constant communications to a new professional level. Other companies can and should learn from them.

Now that we're one week without a DD something very human occurs: We are curious why our routine has been interrupted. And curiosity is not a bad habit, but a trait that spurs inventions and life-saving behavioural changes. In our case it lets us question why the DD is delayed and ponder the reasons.

The Spit model had already been shown weeks before. The DD showcased the skins, so it made sense to discuss the skins.

I still dont understand those bad reactions to those skins, it is the easiest way to change for the community.

The Devs are reacting to us when there is a wrong 3D model, that is far more complex to change than anything else.

So, this instant bitching about "skins" I still can`t understand... Im a develope myself for another sim and if the community starts bitching ... it is the way you ask for other, or different things ... otherwise it has a bad taste
