Well, apart from the Spit, those are also the only BoK planes that are completely new designs that don't resemble anything that is in the sim already.

 

I honestly don't believe, that it takes the devs as long to model a Yak-7b or a Bf 109G4 as it takes them to model something completely new like a P-39.

After seeing the job openings i feel better as they show some of the vision for the franchise.

Potentially more tanks, more user made campaigns, some sort of magazine, etc.

They wouldn't be hiring people to build tank models and write an IL-2 magazine, if the basic stuff wasn't working out for them.

 

As I see it, it is the usual strategy of not making people expect too much too soon (as well as a genuine plea for help with some of the practical stuff) IMHO it's a smart way of doing it. Lately people have been far too focused on the Pacific and not enough on the BoK stuff that's actually coming out. This should make it clear, that the PTO is still far out in the distance.

To generate more income whilst research for the pacific is ongoing... (it may take many months of painstaking research to get them in a position to proceed, even after BoK has been released) I still think that producing extra maps, (Murmansk springs to mind, with 3 or 4 aircraft, Ju87-B's, lend lease Hurricane etc) could be used to bolster interest and funds.

 

Even extra collectors aircraft would garner results... (who wouldn't want a P40B or I-153 for instance)

 

There is the Odessa map on the way... how about extra aircraft for that one as well.

Based on the wording of the latest DD, I'd say the update is still 2-3 weeks out.

 

Here's hoping for P-39 WIP pics and video of the Kuban map.
