I have to say it's amazing that we've got teased a possible next game in the most ambiguous of ways months ago and we're just being left in the dark right now...

 

Are they afraid we won't buy the last expansions if they announce the next game? Did the devs run away to another country due to the war?

 

As much as I'm glad that the notoriously arrogant Jason is gone I'd love to have someone that communicates with the community as much as he did.

A common criticism of the game's business model from this very forum was there's a long time between announcements and getting content, I wonder if this radio silence is an over-correction to that?

I'm fairly certain that the folks running this train are hoping that all will be forgiven when they present a product that's ready to play. The problem is that it may not be until 2024-25, and at that point, we may have moved on to something else.

With right attitude there is enough to do.

Exactly like that. There is Spit XIV bubble top, 109 G6/AS and IAR 80/81 to come and then there is FC2 career mode waiting for release. Enough to play for the months to come. Whether the "next big thing" will get released in 2026 or 2027 isn´t relevant to enjoying what we already have.

I cant finish a BF109 long flight without drop tanks and with ground start, but they cancelled it and just tell me that I should use airstart. It is not a finished product IMO. No matter if they had DDs about drop tanks or not. In both ways it borders on fraud.

not bon but it all. I have to use modules dating back from 10 years ago in order to do what I like. And these modules evolved from slim chances to survive but occasionally fun crashlanding with tolerable help from the crew to without exception flying zippo’s with absolutely no help from the crew, or instant kill both in career or as slow fat funnybaloons filled with flammable gases for fighters to play with. There is absolutely no sign this will slightly change, just getting worse. This is why I do not fly. But I know others can enjoy, and not getting news got nothing to do with that. Because I got belly full of other frustration conserving why developers do not do what I want. 
But notice one thing, I do not blame them. They believe fighter jockeys wish is easy no challange targets blowing up like in Hollywood films. And who am I to challange that? I do not know who bring in the money

Yes it is finished as they promised. You are not alone in your frustration, one of the things this “new thing” should fix is communication and fuel system. Both cancelled, not because they wanted to, because they hit a wall with those projects. 
This has been explained multiple times, and your focus is still blaming the devs for not delivering on purpose

Yet your tone called for it. 
It took me 10 years to come to that conclusion. Slow as I am, I still hopes things eventually goes in my direction. When I finally call it over, they come up with a flyable DC 3. For me too late, I prefer msfs dc3 , but you got to give them credit, they do think about people like me.

What have you paid for that has not been delivered?  A few collector planes that the team has said are coming.  IAR.  SSW.  Is there anything else out there?  Based on their track record these things will arrive, just not as fast as most people would like.  FC2 full map coming soon.  There really is not much in the pipeline.  

 

As for a skeleton crew working the product - probably true.  The new content does not require programmers.  Only 3d modelers and data types to get the FM in shape.  Right or wrong they have said that they are moving on from this product, so I expect these last items are all we are going to see for awhile.  That is pretty transparent.  You may not like it, but you are not being lied to.

 

TBH I have not played this game in any meaningful way for over a year now.  Purely my choice.  I am disappointed that more progress could not be made with AI and performance.  Still, I do not feel that I have been mislead nor do I feel cheated in any way.

In an artistic way this game is gorgious, I love the modells etc. I dont care about so much about shiny new planes or maps. What I want is getting rid of that super arcady flight physics. We wont get no fuel tanks for sure and becasue of the cancellation of the complex fuel managment we can say good by to a realistic hydraulic systems. They need exactly those people you say they wont need for future content. But that doesnt make money.

To all those who talk about positivity, what about the  Air Marshall mode?

That's a huge blunder that can be blamed on someone. Of course the devs themselves are not to blame they're not the ones deciding to work on a project that never hatches while announcing it to the world and decide to develop the 10th  BF 109 or something like that.

Oh and bubble canopy spitfire? Allow me to laugh at that.

And the  Normandy map was half assed and riddled with bugs that yell lack of care, in fact this map had so much success that none of the servers are running it.

 

The Romanian plane was a great idea tho.

I think, in general, the non money making features were announced far too soon.  Shouldn't do that.  Wait for something too get to the point where you know you can deliver, then announce it with the same quarter that you intend to release it.  The money making stuff - modules and planes - I get, since they needed the preorder cash flow to keep things going.

Maybe a lot of players care about technical/QOL- DDs. At least for me, that keept me going and preordering all addons which were not released when I started that game. "anouncing when confident to implement" is very streched wording. From the records, it seems, releaseing the feature will be the only time they are confident. Meaning, the intentions of the dev team are not shared anymore. As usual, fixing the symtomps not the problem -mindset.

it just keeps you excited continuosly and makes you look forward to the new stuff even more when you know that it's closer and closer to release, or a new stuff gets announced and you get excited... but without any updates on anything it's probably hard to get excited unless you're a real diehard and just play the game daily and dont really care about new stuff... which i respect... but I like looking forward to new things as well, knowing that something/ some new change is on the way...
