The Navy is quite good at PR - Top Gun, Navy Seals, Blue Angels, etc. They're not often considered the best, but often the best known.

That's a odd looking C-47...missing an engine I think ??

I "may" pre-order the IAR after the C-47 finally releases ?

Hear that? It's Jason typing the announcement of the next battle.

Last time it took ~2 weeks after the official BOBP release iirc, so if this time it's similar, we should hear about it very soon.

My call is around Black Friday mid November. I seem to recall that being a popular announcement time.

Advance notice that it will be too late tomorow.

I think most would agree that this long running thread is just for fun. Making silly comments. Clever puns. Wishful thinking about what might come next. Plenty of other places here to air grievances or point out what’s needing to be fixed. I’d hate to see this thread get locked as it seems to be the one place where everyone comes to have some fun.

The Droptank addition is not just, "hey we have tanks to drop" but it will introduce a more complex fuelmanagement for each plane.
You have to monitor the fuel amount in each tank, manage fuelpumps and select different tanks.

It will even change the flight characteristics of the plane, best example is the P-51, fill it with 100% of fuel and you have to be more carefull flying it.
The COG is shifted to the normal 63% or something amount of fuel.

If you could quote yourself, quoting yourself, I think you'd set a new standard here for redundancy. :)

Good news.

This will make long flights more interesting as the workload for the pilot increases.

I think this is already the case but the game manages the fuel for you for now, the differences in flight characteristics are already there.

But good job of the devs anyway.

Have a nice day.

Who will fly P-51 with 100% and Drop tanks, even now you dont have to take more then 60%, with DT it will be 10% fuel and DT, and in SP ppl will just not fly long missions, who thinks that player who come from work and dont have time to play is gona waist his 1-2h game time on just flying to action that is of 5-10min out of that one mission, and they wonder why ppl play QM or AQM more then thier poor career... they are going in wrong direction.

I think the drop tanks will be more interesting for Bf 109s over England, as their fuel capacity is severely limited.

Same with Spitfires over Normandy. So they are needed rather sooner than later.

I reckon any big announcements will be saved for after the Steam launch of BoN, which is probably after September based on the date for their screenshot submission thing

Eager for drop tanks to appear. My P-51s look nekkid without them.

Yeah drop tanks wouldn't be bad - to shoot at... but unpractical in IL-2 MP gameplay.

Yes, I would guess that the Steam launch of BoN is Oct. 4th, and maybe an announcement the following week.
