707shap_Srbin Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 (edited) May I guess - DD will be with next Theater of Operations, on anniverse day. Would be either 5th July or 10th July 2016 Guess the dates? Edited June 25, 2016 by I./ZG1_Panzerbar
SCG_Space_Ghost Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 (edited) This monster first, please p.jpgpp.jpg P-39 is a lot more interesting. ANYTHING different is a lot more interesting... Hs123, Hs129... Something different. Edited June 25, 2016 by Space_Ghost 1
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Some study material for the near future And some nice in-flight footage: 1
Feathered_IV Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 ANYTHING different is a lot more interesting... God yes. Anything. Just not More of the Same for goodness sake. 2
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Could live well with an Airacobra but not over enoughter dull russian steppe.
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Some study material for the near future Expecting something Lucas ? I can only tease this days with nice CG 2
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Expecting something Lucas ? ... Nice documentary by the way. Very well-detailed, and it definitely captures the drama and intensity of carrier battles.
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Yes, Futabasha produces one of the best videos with high quality and accuracy, I once went through their video of 343rd Ku sitting with Genda's Blade (a book presenting a complete and detailed history of the most elite Japanese Navy unit at the end of the war) and could match every single situation and every single person involved to what was written in the book. History Channel CG both in terms of quality and accuracy looks like a bunch of teenagers would have made it in their spare time, when compared to this.
BlitzPig_EL Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Thanks for the video. It does point out, however, one of the central problems with Pacific carrier ops, that is, they were very short affairs and not ongoing campaigns that can be done justice in a flight sim. This is why I think that New Guinea would be the best option. You have a campaign that went on for 2 odd years, incorporating many different aircraft types, and participating nations. New Guinea also was the burial site, for all intents and purposes, of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Corps. Roughly half of their experienced pilots were lost there. It's a staggering thing when you think about it.
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Which is why expansion should not be concentrated around them but around campaign. Battle of Santa Cruz was a significant part of Solomon Islands campaign. Also, its true that carrier battles were fierce and quick, but consequences they carried were of greater importance then many days of land campaigns. New Guinea also was the burial site, for all intents and purposes, of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Corps. Nah, that is exaggeration. While losses were heavy, it was recoverable, since Army still maintained a significant and rather well trained units in China and Burma, which eventually got moved to Pacific. Philippines were far more devastating. Roughly half of their experienced pilots were lost there. That is a bit exaggeration as well. For instance the light bomber units sent to New Guinea were former training units hastily re-equipped and brought to operational status, lacking both skills and experience. On the other hand fighter units were relatively experienced, particularly 11th and 1st Sentai. Anyway, thats not part of this topic
707shap_Srbin Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 The worst ever, and the most stupid film about War.
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 I'm still more inclined to say that Pearl Harbor was even worse. Neither romance, nor a war movie, neither accurate nor fun. Or U-571 ... 1
A_radek Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 (edited) Some study material for the near future And some nice in-flight footage: Oh how I wish to finally have my office back. These peashooter replacements just don't cut it. I'm surprised they haven't started spitting out single plane dlc's in between main episodes, those could be less important planes like i-153, ju-52 (mc202). I'd definitely buy them. Seems so many other companies are making good money doing this. Edited June 27, 2016 by aa_radek
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 A reason they gave for not doing this before is that previous experience with Rise of Flight showed that financially this wasn't as efficient as selling them in a pack, and data from the campaign shows bomber/attack aircraft are used way less than fighters making individual releases of bombers/attack/transports (either as DLCs or Premium aircraft) not viable, especially seen as these are the most expensive aircraft to make due to their complexity. Oh, how I miss those dogfights in the Airacobra where you could carefully time aim and rip a whole wing or tail from a Bf-109 in a single deflection shot! I used to link the machine guns and cannons to the trigger, when pulling a tracking shot initially you'd see small hits and then a sudden boom and the enemy was done for. I also can't wait to take the P-39 up to 6000m and play spin recovery with this FM, it should be a fun sport 2
9./JG27golani79 Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 I'm still more inclined to say that Pearl Harbor was even worse. Neither romance, nor a war movie, neither accurate nor fun. Or U-571 ... Hehe .. or what about Red Tails and Windtalkers? :D Also 2 movies with pretty good potential but failed to deliver where Enemy at the Gates wasn´t that bad at all in my opinion.
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Ye, there are plenty of bad war movies. Enemy at Gates is bad indeed, hardly realistic, but there are far worse movies out there.
Brano Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Have you seen Fedor Bondarchuk Stalingrad film from 2013? Enemy at the gates shines in comparison :D 1
Sokol1 Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 (edited) I can only tease this days with nice CG Battle 360 version - with that boring narrative, repetitive summaries and intrusive interviews with "experts". Edited June 27, 2016 by Sokol1 1
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 I dont mind experts but narrative is bad and makes it look more like action movie than documentary. And yeah, summaries make me turn it off.
NN_RugbyGoth Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 (edited) Posted Today, 20:07 Dear pilots!Master server of the game will be offline for maintenance 06.28.2016 from 08:00 to 11:00 GMT. Should I be excited? Edited June 27, 2016 by NN_RugbyGoth
Feathered_IV Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Who knows. For some reason they never say one way or another if it's simple maintinence or to introduce a new patch.
Jade_Monkey Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Yes last time it was a false alarm. I dont want to get too excited.
LLv24_Zami Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Interesting, I tried to launch the game and it notified there is a new version available. Looks like a patch is coming!
LLv24_Zami Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Can you play at work? :D Of course you can! BTW, downloading 168.33MB
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Happy B-Day Hiro, but unfortunately without Dev Diary. Maybe I'll be more lucky next week Yes I am Nice update, although I hoped for some neat FM fixes. Either way a nice coincidence.
Blooddawn1942 Posted July 22, 2016 Author Posted July 22, 2016 Anything to expect today? It's been silent for too long now. Maybe we can expect the announcement of the next theatre after the summer holidays, but some kind of ' hello folks, we're still here' wouldn't be bad at all.
Dakpilot Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Last patch was June 29..it has not really been that long But any info would be nice Cheers Dakpilot
6./ZG26_Gielow Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 I have heard that Devs already decided about new game.
Boomerang Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Wonder what it will be? Time is flying, and it has been rather quiet. I can only tease this days with nice CG That was great! Thank you Sokol1
Livai Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 (edited) Hey can you feel it? What? How the Answers to our Questions circling around us. We know they're watching, we can feel them out there. We are one in the same! Share the same feelings, do we? Why they let us waiting? Do they not know this feeling? We need their help! We need a savior to save us before this painful silence taking over, before it takes control and drag us to nowhere. Please, make everything ok.... Edited July 22, 2016 by Superghostboy

Han answered to "Questions to the devs" 4 days ago... Ok, all his answers were "maybe one day" or "It's a question for producers, not developpers", but they are still here, somewhere... And for the DD, Han said : When there will be a stage of development where will be some kind of things which will be interesting to community - there will be a new DD.
6./ZG26_Gielow Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 They must be busy preparing BoA material for the announcement.
