6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 It's friday, let's bring this post up It truly is.
Livai Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I think there is much more important things going on behind the scene than the next project. Why they holding back? A Website that is up-to-date take only minutes something what is already prepared for the offical release same as the Steam release. Why every moment of every Day, Week, Month remain the same. Is that not somehow boring? Wait till you see a DD today is a delusion for the who waits for....
Sim Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Probably no DD today.. half of the team is on vacations and the programmer(s) is hard at work porting the engine to DX12..
Phantom-103 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Probably no DD today.. half of the team is on vacations and the programmer(s) is hard at work porting the engine to DX12.. Yes but they're in The South Pacific doing research
I./JG1_Deschain Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Pls let us know what next theatre is going to be
Trooper117 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Keeping your fan base waiting is good for business... (apparently)
Urra Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 (edited) Probably no DD today.. half of the team is on vacations and the programmer(s) is hard at work porting the engine to DX12.. Only one programmer. I think his name was Moss. Poor guy stuck in the basement. Edited June 10, 2016 by roaming_gnome
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 UEFA EURO 2016 starts today and first and foremost it's based on Fair Play principle, just like any other sport. We're stepping up our commitment to Fair Play! We want to provide a level playing field for everyone. As part of our Fair Play policy, players using prohibited a third-party software will face disciplinary action, including but not limited to: permanent ban. We consider "mod" use cheating, and strongly encourage players to remove any aforementioned programs from their PCs. By offering this warning, we hope to give our community a chance to enjoy IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Moscow and Battle of Stalingrad the Fair way. By Sneaksie just now. So long cheaters, now everyone can chill
Guest deleted@50488 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Hmmm indeed since I returned to il2 and MP, one of these days I found it rather strange that the score of one of the players at the BERLOGA server was 111 aircraft ???? Wow!
Feathered_IV Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Awfully vague. Single player mods are cheating too?
LLv24_Zami Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Cheating in games is something I'll never understand. How can anyone have some satisfaction in victory archieved with cheating? People are strange... 2
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Lost in translation, Feathered. The "prohibited a third-party software" line covers it, since they looked into the issue and shortlisted the programs used to cheat.
Trident_109 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Only one programmer. I think his name was Moss. Poor guy stuck in the basement. Bring out the Gimp.
NN_RugbyGoth Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 (edited) Not a DD, but it's something Edited June 10, 2016 by NN_RugbyGoth 2
Livai Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 (edited) Lost in translation, Feathered. The "prohibited a third-party software" line covers it, since they looked into the issue and shortlisted the programs used to cheat. For using SweetFX or Reshade you earn a permanent ban! This programs are third-party software that can be used to create mods what is prohibited the line covers it! Edited June 10, 2016 by Superghostboy
Zettman Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 What about setting gamma to 0.7 or 0.6? In the game menu you can't go below 0.8, so is setting it below that value by editing the text files also illegal? Zettman
CCG_Pips Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I don't For using SweetFX or Reshade you earn a permanent ban! This programs are third-party software that can be used to create mods what is prohibited the line covers it! I Don't think so !!!!! otherwise, developpers should loose A LOT of peoples............. my two cents
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Using software which works with the memory to change the difficulty settings and enable icons, make yourself invincible and so on is not allowed. Chill out people, it's just a bad translation, nothing to read into. 4

Chill out people, it's just a bad translation, nothing to read into. Yep, IMO statement is pretty clear. 1
DD_Arthur Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 The question is are they able to detect the use of these third party programmes?
SCG_Space_Ghost Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 (edited) Using software which works with the memory to change the difficulty settings and enable icons, make yourself invincible and so on is not allowed. Chill out people, it's just a bad translation, nothing to read into. Yeah, you're right... Nothing to read in to because the statement was pretty clear and concise. Mods are considered cheating. The link Sneaksie posted continues on to mention: Hacks, “mods”, or programs that unfairly alter game functionalitySince there is a demographic of players using 3rd Party applications to alter visibility, contrast, gamma, surface reflection, etc. they are in violation of the EULA. I didn't write it and I disagree that it is a poor translation - it's just poorly written legal text. Specificity, specificity, specificity - an absolute requirement when creating legal diction. Jade_Monkey Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 The announcement just sounds like they don't have a tool to fight the cheating and therefore they are just 'asking' the community. Was that policy already in place or they created it recently?
LLv24_Zami Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 (edited) The announcement just sounds like they don't have a tool to fight the cheating and therefore they are just 'asking' the community. Was that policy already in place or they created it recently? I don`t think so. They are just making clear what are the consequences of cheating. Don`t know about the policy earlier but now it`s known. Edited June 10, 2016 by Zami
BraveSirRobin Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 It could be a warning that they found a solution to the known hacking issues. Or they might just be bluffing.
wtornado Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 (edited) I wonder f they use Steam's VAC system? Valve Anti-cheat This is VAC: If a user connects to a VAC-Secured server from a computer with identifiable cheats installed, the VAC system will ban the user from playing that game on VAC-Secured servers in the future. The VAC system reliably detects cheats using their cheat signatures. Any third-party modifications to a game designed to give one player an advantage over another is classified as a cheat or hack and will trigger a VAC ban. This includes modifications to a game's core executable files and dynamic link libraries. While server admins may choose to ban specific players, server admins cannot VAC ban players. I like VAC Edited June 10, 2016 by WTornado
