F/JG300_Gruber Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 (edited) Please no, we need MOAR ! There are a lot of green posts junkies waiting for their weekly text wall shot ! Edited July 27, 2018 by F/JG300_Gruber

Jason In all seriousness, lets thank whatever gods, spirits or ephemeral philosophical concepts that every once in a while these guys get to go on vacation. Like holy crap, the content output and fixes just since I got the game like 5 months ago is unreal. They deserve a break, if only because its hard to code with fingers worked to the bone. CanadaOne Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 (edited) Just fired up the sim and it's loading a 125MB file. Is this a second hotfix for 3.00000000005? Edited July 27, 2018 by CanadaOne

HandyNasty Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 I'd like to see a detailed explanation of (all) the features that they'd like to implement in Tank Crew. Currently I am doubting to buy Tank Crew because I don't quite know what to expect. I have no doubt about the fidelity of the modelling, about the graphics, but don't know what to expect from just gaming point of view. I mean, it has to be fun after all. I'd like some clarifications about following : - types of missions (really, I have no clue what type of missions and what types of objectives those missions will be around will be implemented... Please not just 'capture random zone') - damage model (penetration calculation and damage to internal structures if penetration occurs) and what happens if 1 or several crew member(s) dies - repair in the field (i feel this is a tricky one in a tank sim... one of your tracks blew on a mine, can you repair it in the field? What about more serious damage like barrel destroyed, ....) - availability of several tanks (I mean, can't have 6 tigers and 1 PzIV against 7 T-34's, as IRL there were but few Tigers compared to other tank types) - manual gear shift (YT video's i currently saw had an automatic gear shifting, no?), and killing your engine if you drive like a monkey (in Otto Carius' book 'tigers in the mud" he mentions somewhere that the Tiger's driver had to be very good with gear shifting to fully exploit the tiger's mobility ) - System requirements (more or same as BoX?) I have a lot of questions, and probably I missed out on a bunch. I just feel that 1CGS's communication of Tank Crew has been rather eeeeh .... shallow. Apart from the map, the ability to knock trees, and he fact we'l get combined arms, there hasn't that much info about it (or did i miss some informative thread somewhere?).

It's not such a bad thing, to hold off on buying Tank Crew. One of the things I love about the Dev Studio, is that they don't oversell their products. The products, largely sell themselves. If you are not sure if you will like it right now, wait until the early access is more mature and either dev diaries, or video footage make up your mind for you. I'm also not pre - ordering, but that is mainly because I'm not really into tanks, and wonder what could make me want to drive one, when I can fly a plane, but like you say as time goes on and we know more about it, there is a chance that I may change my mind.
Danziger Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Honestly not that fussed about a DD this week. I have so much stuff to play with I am content.

The IL2 Shop feature description is a very specific piece to read. As customer one should read it hard, because every single word counts. It`s almost like reading a legal statement or a contract.
Voidhunger Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 I suppose we need to wait for big updates for Bobp to see improvements for TC and FC. I cant decide if its good or bad ?

HandyNasty Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 Since we saw WiP pictures of the P-47, next step I'd like to see is an explanation of how the turbocharger works and how this will be implemented in game 2
Sotka94 Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 (edited) This is what Jason said a few hours ago on Reddit:https://www.reddit.com/r/il2sturmovik/comments/9555un/ama_with_jason_williams_questions_and_answers/ Quote I may not have a new DD this week. Trying to see what we can show. Summer vacations do indeed interfere. So chances are there won't be one this week, that is, unless they come up with something cool to show us. ...I for one would love even a short post on what planes are coming next for Flying Circus, maybe with pictures too ? The Turbo is one thing I hope they do as good as they can without simplifying anything, I've ever seen a game with it implemented accurately. I'd also like to see mention of the water injection since it is activated manually and not automatically, I'd like to see how they implement it in-game. I'm sure it will be similar to the water injection we see with the german aircraft except it will be manual operation. For me, a properly modeled turbo and water injection are huge selling points. The-Doctor Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 I can foresee p-47 tracers going off everywhere , i’m also smelling the gunpowder oh was i dreaming ?!!
Legioneod Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 It'd be nice to see what modifications the P-47 will get. I hope we get both the K-14 and GGS (almost the same thing) to simulate late war P-47 in American service and also a P-47 in British service, the P-47 used both the GGS and K-14 starting in 1944. The only confirmed modification will be the DF Loop. The P-47 doesn't have much in the way of modifications except for it's weapons loadout but I hope to see the K-14/GGS, and a dorsal fin as modifications.

Looking at the Pictures I'm going to take a wild guess that wing pylons are also optional.
