Aurelius Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Tanks, Yogiflight So, it will be a new campaign with a new Pilot. I was thinking on a chance to teleport my actual pilot from Stalingrad to the Past (Moscow battle).

But it is in the plans for the development.
CIA_Yankee_ Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 (edited) Are there any specific requirements for the career generator to properly detect sortie results? I've flown a couple of sorties now, and both times after I was done the sortie status window would say something about not planting information. So I'm guessing I'm missing something, either in my setup or with what I'm doing. To clarify, when I'm done with my sortie window, the sortie window does NOT close. It stays there but the message at the top (that used to say "do not close this window" or some such) now says something about not planting false information. For example, for this to work must I make them full missions, or do short missions count? Do I need to land or does finishing the mission after reaching the egress point work? Also, while I'm posting: what is the "opentrack" button for? Thank you. Edited June 11, 2016 by Yankee_

SCG_motoadve Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Im interested in trying it out. Where can I download the latest version?
LLv24_Zami Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Im interested in trying it out. Where can I download the latest version? There's a download link on the previous page of this thread. I can't bring it here, I'm typing with my phone.
SCG_motoadve Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 I only have BOM, downloaded the version from the previous page and when double clicking it to install I get a message that says path not found. Is that the version that supports BOM?

Is that the version that supports BOM? Yes it is. You have to give path to the game directory manually.
SCG_motoadve Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Doesnt let me, I double click it and does it thing without giving any option to manually do anything.
LLv24_Zami Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Doesnt let me, I double click it and does it thing without giving any option to manually do anything. That`s strange. It should let you choose the right path, it is said in the readme file. Maybe the creator of this mod, Warhamm, can help you.
Yogiflight Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Are you downloading with WinZip, or which program are you using to unzip the CG data? I am using WinZip, where I have three columns, and in the right one I first have to select the correct path, Which should be something like C:\......\BOM If I would just doublecklick the exe, it couldn´t unzip the data into the game. I guess, this might be your problem.
SCG_motoadve Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Im using 7Z. I have a downloaded folder IL2 Career generator Inside the folder I have IL2 Career Generator.exe and 4 folders (Aces,Gramophone, missions, resources). I double click on the IL2 career generator .exe and then get the error Path not found.
Yogiflight Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 7Z has to unzip the complete IL2 Career Generator folder into the game. So, before you double click the exe you have to give it the path to the game. I have the Steam version so I had to unzip it ti C:\steam\steamapps\common\il2_battle_of_stalingrad. Unfortunately I don`t know the path for the game bought by IL2 Sturmovik, but it has to be something like that, where you have to unzip your career generator, because only then it is installed in the game.
Yogiflight Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Good to read. I`m glad I was able to help you. Have fun with it.
Comes Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Hey Warhamm, are you planning to include the option to transfer to another Squadron? I played a campaign in the LA-5 and the campaign ended with the Message, that my Squadron moved to antoher Front. Would be nice, If I could transfer to another Squadron that is still present in the Battle of Stalingrad/Moscow. Also, people would not have to create a new Pilot for Bombers and fighters every time...
Blitzen Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 It works like a charm BUT can you fly two fighter careers for the Luftwaffe in different aircraft on the same map at the same time? Say a Bf-109E career & a Bf-109F-2 career? I haven't been able to make this combination work.

In addition to my basic work I take work at home + summertime. It works like a charm BUT can you fly two fighter careers for the Luftwaffe in different aircraft on the same map at the same time? Yogiflight Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 It would be nice, if some Luftwaffe players would remove a few of their ended careers from the Aces list, because there are no photos for new careers left.
Comes Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 On which Server are you? I will check If I have any finished careers...
Yogiflight Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Thanks for the tip, Comes. I didn´t remember, there are more servers. I´m on #3 right now. But I might give #4 a try(dead is dead).
Warhamm Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 It would be nice, if some Luftwaffe players would remove a few of their ended careers from the Aces list, because there are no photos for new careers left. I deleted about 20 pilots on 3rd server. Later will delete more pilots.
Blitzen Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Have had no luck starting a career for the Bf-110,while continuing a career with the Bf-109G. After hitting "Start Sortie" I am told the Bf-110 mission will be in Typhoon/Bf-110/Smolensk, but I can't find it...i can't even find a Smolensk or an airfield close by... If I can find it ( the correct airfield I mean)perhaps then I should choose the Bf-110 from the other aircraft offered & then from then on it will be the automatic choice on this airfield for further career missions as the Bf-109G is for its home airfield or I am limited to one Luftwaffe career at a time?
Yogiflight Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Hi Blitzen, Typhoon is the first chapter of the Battle of Moscow campaign. Don´t bother for the Smolensk airfield, it is far more west, you can choose any of the german airfields on the map. It has nothing to do with your G2 carreer, as this is a fighter carreer, while the 110s carreer is ground attack, I think. You simply have to choose for every mission your airfield, but for the CG it doesn´t matter, if you always take the same one. After a few missions you get ordered to the airfield of Dugino, which is on the map. I think, it is just, that the 110 were based at Smolensk, IRL, so that is why you get ordered to fly from there.
Blitzen Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Thanks !I did look on a "real" map of Russia to position Smolensk visavis Moscow & as you say a bit West... Will give the 110 career another try tonight.
Blitzen Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 That worked! However at level 10 my Bf-110squadron mate & myself were overwhelmed by Migs & Ratas, before we could destroy ALL of the artillery & were given a waypoint out...ouch!
Yogiflight Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Yes, I absolutely understand your problem. In these high levels you always have the target defended by one enemy flight supported by a second and quite often a third flight, so after two attacks you should better think about RTB. And your wingmen are pretty useless, because if you order them to follow you and do as you do, they almost never hit any target, but if you order them to attack on their own, they turn away, start climbing, to attack the target in the programmed way, but before they are able to attack there always is an enemy fighter near them, so they prefer engaging the fighter. Don´t care about the exit waypoint, it is most times pretty sensefree choosen (not to say idiotic), in the enemy territory and leeds you over enemy front positions with russian radar guided AAA, which is, when you fly at low altitudes, absolutely deadly. Just follow your beacon indicator gauge to the direct way back to your airfield. It is not necessary to fly to the exitpoint.
Azdack Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Thanks very much for this Il2 Career Generator; much fun to play missions into campaigns with your tool. Two questions. first : each time I die in fighting I have to start a new career but I can't choose the same name and I must choose my name + a number : Azadackone - Azdacktwo - ans so on? Is it possible to cancel the names ot died pilots to have the same for each career even by dying. two : how to have his own picture as pilot in the pictures one can choose? Thanks in advance for answers.
Yogiflight Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Hi Azdak, select on the left side, instead of "My Squadron" "Top Aces", select your pilot out of the list and then click "Edit", "Remove" and accept with "OK". For the photo I don´t really know, if there is an open file, where you can put your picture in.
Azdack Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Thanks Yogiflight, I could remove died pilots. Oups got a problem : since last game's update to 2.003 I can't start te game from the application Il2 career generator anymore...nothing happens by clicking on "start the game" into the application Il2 career generator. By the way other question : I missed to write down my password to log into Il2 career generator...oups my fault...How to install a full clean Il2 career generator? Thanks for answers.
Yogiflight Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Hi Azdack, you can find your password in the BOS folder under IL2CarreerGenerator in a XML document file.
Azdack Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 (edited) Thanks for your answer Yogiflight. I've found the XML document file. Unfortunatelly user login is written : " " as well as password written too : " " which weren't my password... I had a look into Il2Careergenerator.xml. There are other .xml with russian pilots names...going to have a look inside but guess my password will not be inside. Edited September 12, 2016 by Azdack
Azdack Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Problem fixed with the help of Warham who gave me my mp back! Thanks.
