Thank's a lot Warhamm.

Makes the campaign a lot more enjoyable. 

 

If you will include the Battle of Moscow in your tool too, I will consider pre-ordering BoM.

 

Now just get rid of the pilot level, difficulty is just insane on level 9 and 10.

Guys, I haven't been able to check in-game yet but I've seen there's an option to select your own pilot's skill: does it make possible to fly a career not as leader? In my opinion (yes, I love formation flying) it would be just awesome to have that... :blush:

No sadly that is not possible. 

 

The tool does not generate any missions, you just have to use those given to you by the normal campaign. 

I am not really sure, what the Pilot Skill changes. 

Your pilot get's an automated background story, maybe he's more of an ace if you select Veteran. More flown sorties, more aircraft shot down, etc...

 

And yes, I also hope, that there will be an option included in the campaign, that let's you fly not as the leader. Common, can't be that hard  to implement ;)

Nada, seems like it can only be made optional by modifying the campaign system itself. Stuff for the developers, I suppose?

- Fixed critical bug with the diaries. Input box has been increased to 3,000 characters in version 0.9.4, but the server cuted text by 1500 characters.


- Fixed a critical bug with I. / StG77. It was unavailable.

- Added volume control for the gramophone.

- Added option to sort the list of the best pilots. Default is now sorted according to the results of the campaign, rather than the overall results.

- Fixed a few minor bugs.

Thanks. Looks promising although it's a shell only. 

Hopefully the devs will release some tools for programs like this to read the results from each flight.

Perhaps even a link to the mission editor, so missions will be generated within this program.

This would than begin to look like PWCG.

 

So far so good.

Good one Zami, forgot all about this.

I hope someday this may be connected with Lupsons mission maker as well.

 

In the meantime: I just got a recon mission to fly. I'm supposed to start a quick mission on Pitomnik in my 109, then select some weather conditions and then follow the waypoints.

Waypoints aren't there as expected and I am generally wondering what to do. I filled in a debrief for this (fictional) flight and pressed "next day". Sigh, another recon mission.

I hope the generation of missions will become something we can recreate in the quick mission maker or the campaign or Lupsons mission maker.

Warhamm, I don`t know anything about programming but Lupson made a after action report application for single player missions. Could that information be helpful to your project?

It works! I realy can read mission results automatically. But the information is not full. And now i understand why in PWCG you need to make a request for shooting down enemy. It cause the log file has not full info.

 

For example. I flew campaing mission. In this mission i shoot down 1 pe-2 and 1 yak. And then i specifically crashed.

 

I can try to understand the log files by myself, but i know that comrade xedoc can do it in his commander for multiplayer statistics. I will ask him for help, especially that he made his programm in .NET.

Would it be possible to make user interface full screen or at least bigger?

 

I think it would be more usable and clear. Also add some atmosphere. Wouldn`t have to scroll so much when looking career information.

The biggest problem in this. I am not a designer. If i will make it full-screen then it will begin to spread, depending on the screen resolution, which is different for each player.But I consider the option of increasing the size of the window to about 1000 (right now 800) fixed pixels. And i know that interface bit illogical. It cause i made this program on base of KSDCommander for bootwaffe (Silent Hunter 4 based mod). There were other tasks and conditions:

Yeah, I thought so too that it will be propably problematic to do full screen with different resolutions. But it never hurts to ask :)

 

Interface is perfectly usable at the moment, no question about that. No hard to use at all. But if you can increase the size of the window it will be even better IMO.

Just made 2 sucessfull sorties after starting a career with the IL2Commander. 

 

I'm loving that you can write down your own debriefings and upload so others can read. Spent some time reading the debriefings of other pilots it was a nice experience. Awesome work Warham!  :salute:

Yeah it`s great, adds much to my SP experience.

Glad to receive some orders finally, not just make up my own. I am much more careful when flying missions now. I want to keep my pilot alive :)

Emil, each pilot you create has his own stats, with sorties flown, aircrafts shot down and ground targets destroyed. It also keep the stats from the dead pilots and you can see the stat of other players. You should check it out, it definately gives a fresh air for the campaign.  ;)

Well done, very simple so far with so much potential.  The best part is reading those who fill out the debriefing on their previous sortie, gives the story some substance.  I'm assuming this app doesn't have an auto updater yet as Warhamm just released it.  If you haven't figured it out yet those names who are highlighted a slightly different tone of brown are dead pilots.  Your pilot it seems stays active in that role aka (bomber, attack, fighter) until he dies.  Then you can create a new career under that role. Keep up the good work!

Warhamm, would it be possible to specify some targets. I list enemy artillery targets as light vehicles now.

Still having fun with this. It gives the SP some flesh if your in the right state of mind.  ;)

If i will make reading from logs, then program will specify units names. Like Yak-1 or T-34 instead of aircraft or heavy vehicle.

Also there is a slight translation error in the Debrief screen. There reads "Mission Briefing" when there should be "Mission Debriefing".

I take my words back. The logic will be the same when i will read logs, cause many technical difficulties with more detailed description of the objectives.

Looks like you don't extract Resources folder. if not the case try to rename en folder to fr.

 

When selecting VVS attack aircraft the first airfield you get is Buzinovka in Chapter 1. It seems that Buzinovka is in German territory at that time. Is the campaign map inaccurate or is this a bug?

Maybe this is a bug. I will recheck it. Sometimes it's hard to find info about VVS.

 

It will be fixed in next update.

Because the player is always leading the flight BoS commander allows for the fact that a rookie pilot would not be a flight leader so it generates a pilot with credible experience.

 

Experienced fulfills the basic criteria and generates a pilot with a credible amount of sorties and victories to be a flight leader. Veteran generates an even more experienced pilot than experienced.

I think you start out with some awards and victories already. It's a really good idea, since it's realistic that your pilot might already have experience before the BoS

One challenge of making these career modes is that the battles in this case BoS and BoM only last a few months. So your pilot isn't probably going to earn and top medals in the course of this career. But you could start off as experienced and then it allows for more imagination in your advancement. It's a great idea.
