BlueHeron Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 20. Abrupt lightning changes at sunset time were fixed; Can't wait to see that ! Note that he probably meant abrupt lighting changes, not *lightning*.
Reflected Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Impressive list, well done, guys!! Those Summer pictures are teasing me more than you can imagine. Boy, when we get to fly over those green fields one day...
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 No word on a fix for invisible planes in mp?
Jason_Williams Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Guys, item #4 is not explained correctly. It's not the draw distance of objects it's the draw detail of the terrain textures that can be pushed out further. Like you've already been doing manually. Sorry for the confusion and inevitable disappointment. Item #7 is also posted wrong. The camera will shake in external if an explosion goes off close by when Cinematic Camera is turned on, not the cockpit. That has always been there. Jason 1
1PL-Banzai-1Esk Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 No disappointment on my side at all , I knew it was for terrain textures and it's a welcome addition. No need to edit .ini files , and not everyone knew you could do it.
Lusekofte Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 This update looking very good, Many thanks. Is it possible to upgrade the online players too? Seriously, I like a penalty for people taking off directly from spawn point . Like deep snow and turn the plane on its nose. At least in Full realism servers. Again many thanks
StG2_Manfred Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Wow, a lot of stuff. Even one do not always agree with any of the game decision, you have to admit that this is a really hard working and targeted team. Thanks for that, you made my weekend!
MasaIV Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 (edited) 2. HDR can be turned off; 3. SSAO can be turned off; 4. Draw distance can now be increased with a dedicated setting option; 9. More precise (realistic) calculation of the earth's curvature; 10. Max number of players per server increased to 64; I told myself I would pre-order BoM when there were custom graphics options. Great news! Edited June 26, 2015 by MasaIV 1
Taxman Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 (edited) Excellent news, um can the update wait until after July 16, returning from vacation which starts July 5 . Oh hold that, sent to the testers for a few days, may be released before I leave Edited June 26, 2015 by Taxman
Rjel Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Lots of positives in the DD. If ever there was a single post to prove that this sim and its following titles will continue to improve, this was it.
Jade_Monkey Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 A lot of great fixes.improvements in this Dev diary! Very happy to see that they are listening to our requests. Also, pretty cool screenshot.

PA-Sniv Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 (edited) (...) and skip bombing! Thanks for this nice DD, devs! Edited June 26, 2015 by PA-Sniv
Freycinet Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Great update, so many changes and fixes. I have no doubt the criticism will continue unabated from a lot of people, but at least for a day or two it will die down... - Just reminded of the pre-RoF and pre-BoS days of simmimng and the tiny trickle of news and updates we got back them. Jason and crew have really taken this genre to a whole new level in that respect. Not that they'll ever get any credit for it from the usual crowd, of course... 3
Matt Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 2. HDR can be turned off; 3. SSAO can be turned off; 4. Draw distance can now be increased with a dedicated setting option; Is it guarenteed, that these features will stay in BoS/BoM forever and won't disappear during early access of BoM or afterwards? Honest question, because i'm actually considering to get BoM now.
TG-55Panthercules Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Awesome news! Really looking forward to trying the new graphics settings, and there are also lots of other interesting nuggets on the list as well. Thanks for continuing to make improvements to BoS/BoM.
pilotpierre Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 (edited) Yahoosiedeloosie, roll on 1.101. Got over excited there for a while when I read I-16 is now available. Edited June 27, 2015 by pilotpierre

Voidhunger Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 (edited) the new graphic options are good but i miss the dither on/off feature. anyway good job with this update Edited June 27, 2015 by Voidhunger
Static Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 (edited) Can this be explained in terms of why? 17. The following rules are now applied to server names: first 3 letters of the name must be latin; first 3 letters cannot be a single letter repeated 3 times; names that include text from the config file are prohibited; names that consist of latin letters, numbers, spaces and ( ) - / . , : = only are allowed; a letter cannot be repeated more than 3 times in a row (aaa - okay, aaaa - not okay); names can be not longer than 128 symbols; symbols (not letters or numbers) can be repeated 2 times in a row max (== - okay, === - not okay) Facebook deactivated my account due to user names. Even though my user name was my birth name given to me by my adopted parents. FB demands I upload either a gov issued id with photo or some other type of document with a photo to unlock my FB account. Edited June 27, 2015 by Static
LLv24_Zami Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 (edited) Great update, lots of fixes and changes asked by community + other stuff and thats great! Thank you devs! Maybe news about campaign improvements in next DD???? Edited June 27, 2015 by Zami 2
JG300_Olrik Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Excellent news! Thanks. Gone on holidays this morning. I hope I'll find this patch when I will be back.
Jupp Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 (edited) ~S~ Everyone, With details of Dev Diary #101 being so stellar, I believe that most of us agree that the Developers have earned this. Good job! Now get back to work! Edited June 27, 2015 by Jupp 5
Mysticpuma Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Got to be honest I am disappointed by this update This really should've been update 100 There is a huge amount of customer led fixes here and this is great to see that we are being listened to, well done devs. The ONLY fix not in the list I would really love to have seen offered is being able to switch the cockpit off, if only in replays, just to give movie-makers that one missing tool from the box we use to create our footage. However, reading this update, maybe this will happen in DD 102, but this is a great update, well.done chaps Cheers, MP
-TBC-AeroAce Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Got to be honest I am disappointed by this update This really should've been update 100 Cheers, MP Had the exact same thought!! 100 was a let down for me as it was about BOM and even though they are the same in most respects, I think it should have been about BOS. BUT HEYHOO 100 is just a number
Guest deleted@50488 Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 What exactly does that F11 view mean ? I never recorded any sequences in il2 BoS...
Finkeren Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 What exactly does that F11 view mean ? I never recorded any sequences in il2 BoS... It's a 'free camera' view, where you can move the camera independently without it being bound to an object. It's great for people making videoes and screenshots and can also be used to explore the map. It has little impact on the game as such.
Stig Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 This really should've been update 100 Version 1.101 = DD 101
Picchio Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 8. Improved sun visuals on dusk and dawn; I love you.

I'm pretty sure it's just server names (as it says) - so if you are hosting an MP session, you can't name your server something ridiculous like ----***AAAAAAArdvark_super_server just to get it up at the top of the server list in the game interface. Anyway, everybody knows the best servers are down in the 'T's, generally beginning something like "Tangmere..." Edited June 27, 2015 by No601_Swallow

Jaws2002 Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 2. HDR can be turned off; 3. SSAO can be turned off; 8. Improved sun visuals on dusk and dawn; 9. More precise (realistic) calculation of the earth's curvatureж This are awesome! The light changing at sunset/sunrise and how light reacted with the curvature of earth was something that bothered me for a while. This is awesome news. I can't wait to see how #9 works out, since the map had no curvature, was flat. That screenshot looks really impressive. That long list of fixes must have been a lot of work. Thank you all involved.
SCG_Neun Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 (edited) The really neat thing is knowing that the Dev's are listening to the feedback and seeing these types of fixes and improvements just proves that they are working on making this game better and not just exclusively modeling new aircraft or terrain for BOM. I'm already having fun with the game now with third party missions.....and these improvements are just going to make all this better and better. Once again, thanks Dev's.
