Leaf Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 (edited) I can outrun and outclimb a Yak in a Gustav even when he has an initial speed advantage... so no, the Bf "Christ" 109 is not a second class citizen just yet. Yes, Yak flaps are wrong, as is its energy retention, and the high altitude performance of Russian engines, but it's still within the realm of plausible, so it's fine for me. Generally I think a lot of people with no knowledge of aeronautical engineering and aerodynamics enjoy making a bunch of qualitative analyses, which hold limited value in a simulation. Reflected Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 I can outrun and outclimb a Yak in a Gustav even when he has an initial speed advantage... s Same here... That doesn't make the Yak right, though.

YSoMadTovarisch Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 This is a sim, sims are supposed to have historically accurate FMs, if you're for balance you can kindly piss off to War Thunder's Arcade mode. 3
YSoMadTovarisch Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 It doesnt Silky! I was with you on the normal server today and a Yak chased me from 1k-2k up to 9k altitude across the map, I was on the F4 and I outclimbed and outrunned him. I could do whatever I wanted, but then I saw he was using those dirty, dirty flaps, which pissed me off at the time and I just disengaged and run away after all the chase. I left him behind with little effort. Yak can't catch 109, but the problem is the Yak doesn't lose energy in turns so energy fighting them is risky as hell.
TWC_Ace Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Do we have any answer from the devs regarding fixing the flaps and energy retention for yak? Im asking because Im not an FM expert and didnt pay much attention in discussions until I experienced both stuff in MP when fighting yak...seems like its the most innacurate FM in the game. Yak can do smeo crazy turns and energy turns. 1

Just like IRL when you got sick of cancer and now have to proove to the hospital that it was their frikkin medicine that made you sick:P Buit be sure. They wont tell you WHAT medicin they actually used on you - LOOOL . So funny;P
1CGS LukeFF Posted August 8, 2015 1CGS Posted August 8, 2015 Winger, you need to dial it back a few notches.
Dakpilot Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Winger, you need to dial it back a few notches. Understatement of the month Cheers Dakpilot
JtD Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 At tiny little bit of feedback from the developers would do a lot for avoiding posts like Wingers. Right now they seem to be happy and content with flaps characteristics that are fubar. No wonder frustration is creeping in.
SR-F_Winger Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Winger, you need to dial it back a few notches. Perfect analogy - wasnt it? Heh. I had my sarcasttic day yesterday. I am good again:)
