clayman Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Great sound, but I´m impatietly waiting for the damage model and smoke/fire effects! I am too ... one good thing is that should be soon now.
Uufflakke Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 It's still Alpha, not Beta. It's nearly 30-35% of the complete game. Please, gentlemen, keep this in mind. A line like this should be used in bold as a news ticker running from right to left in flashy colours over the screen after the November release. Saves us from a lot of unnecessary and redundant comments. 1
Caudron431 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Seems 1CGS guys and girls are working very hard at the moment to make it in time for mid november. So thanks a lot for taking extra time to give us news and videos: very much appreciated, you guys rock! The waiting may seem long, but sims like wine needs time to be great.
Zappatime Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 sounds are very nice, looking forward to it.
Jochen Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Agreed, nice Doppler effect and Bf.109 turbocharger whine. Adding contrails/wingtip vortices would be a nice atmospheric improvement. The landscape is absolutely beautiful.
Bearcat Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 3 or 4 week to the first distribution, (I think so), and we haven't a video with damage model in air combat. For me it's strange, may be they're waiting till one week before the first beta distribution Great video, like all, but without complete combats. For me it's the only point that I need to purchase the pre-order Thx for the update! Well I would think that given all that we have seen.. saving $10 and early access would be enough for most folks.. So first people are grumpy about not having a date and when we get a date people still look like a bunch of grape. Go figure...
CheeseGromit Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) I'm pleased to see the release prices announced before the pre-orders close. That's what I've been waiting for. Considering the mention of an in game store, I'm somewhat surprised the release options are as feature complete as pre-orders. I guess I was expecting a lighter version with additional aircraft for purchase. Have things changed, or is there a whole lot of other good unannounced stuff coming to the store? tempered Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 All that snow looks like it is going to play havoc with visual navigation. Going to have to wear my shades while flying to avoid being snow blind.
VeryOldMan Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 A date and what a symbolic date for us Europeans the 11th November I hope not at the 11th hour it should be more than a coincidence?! :P  I only get sad because not only my vacations have ended by then, but the new project at work will start at day 10. And form then for 2 months will be 12 hours work per day. So no beta testing for me.. effectively making the early access wasted :/

Pierre64 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 (..)12 hours work per day. So no beta testing for me.. effectively making the early access wasted :/Minimize time spent on sleep

feuervogel Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Looking forward to this, expecting much and cannot wait to try those "metal" kites. Feeling a bit like evolution, looking back to the canvas of rise of flight. November 11th (1918) was the date of armistice between Entente and Central Powers - the end of world war 1. I am hoping this date is just pure coincidence and it won't be an end for ROF and the development of new plane models. So the waiting comes to an end, and when i am coming back from my vacation travel ( a few days later) it will be ready! Yipieeehhh! Keep it up! Best regards fv

VeryOldMan Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Weekends? You do not work on weekends? Others are happy to have a job Obviously.. the borign part is the coincidental time. I wish I had 3-4 days at least on the "work low gear"to enjoy the beta.
senseispcc Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 (edited) I am happy to have a date and was when there was no date for the prerelease of the game. Why? Because when there was no date I knew the desing team was working on it and now that a date is know I hope to play the game at the official date. Let us all wait the 15 days and see the results ?! "Within a few days after November 11th the early access will be open" they said. Let's see........ ---> A few days after November 11th (Monday) they shut down the preorder. ---> November 13th (Wednesday) they had shut down the preorder and announce all necessary details about it and how it’s going to happen the early access with a new Live-Stream. ---> November 15th (Friday) A new Dev-Blog with a Download-Link and the weekend can start Looks like you should be prepare for the worst case scenario
AcesHigh Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 (edited) Oh well, I guess I'll be grounded all weekend ... On the bright side I'll get to spend it with the wife (Oh boy I hope she don't find this forum). I can sneak a look at the forums when she takes a shower in the mornings and read all it until I hear the water shut off. Damn the release date and yeah the flight sim Gods got me this time! hahah Edited October 20, 2013 by AcesHigh
Trooper117 Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Mmmm... fits in with my plan nicely. I should be back from my little jaunts abroad just in time to get stuck into this (touch wood)

Zak Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 The info comes from Jason. I read it somewhere, can't remember which thread that was? I remember that Jason answered someones Question about NDA and said no NDA. The next what was follow after Jason's answer to NDA Question was to post youtube videos from the early access (UNCUT). That I can good remember. And I think that is the info what others get, too Superghostboy, I'd be very gratefull if you found that post by Jason and gave me the link. I've searched thru the forum and haven't found it yet.

If i well remember, Jason answered to such a question in the QA round which took place on the TeamSpeak, after a live streaming session of BOS.
HeavyCavalrySgt Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 That does sound familiar, Laser - it was one of the recent ones. A bit late to be thinking about NDAs anyway.

Sorry, but regardless of what Jason said or didn't say, i would be very disappointed if i would need to sign a NDA to get early access. If there will be a NDA, it should've been made very clear as soon as the preorder with early access became avaliable. Atleast don't wait until the 11th November now please.
FuriousMeow Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 (edited) What, exactly, is the problem with agreeing to a NDA? You agree to software license agreements without so much as a second thought every time you install software, even the free ones like Adobe reader, winzip, or winrar. So you can't discuss the title outside of the founders forum, oh no? A NDA is in their best interest, so far there are a LOT of individuals that purchased early access that still think early access means early autumn access to a complete game but just meant early access to a beta - and still never meant access in early autumn. When this comes out in it's beta form, there's going to be a lot of individuals complaining and moaning that it's not a complete title because they misread everything. When this comes out in it's beta form, there's going to be a lot of individuals complaining and moaning that it's not a complete title because they misread everything. First off, i don't want to sign a NDA for something that i pay money for. Beta testing, sure, that's an entirely different thing, but it's not called "beta testing" is it? The rest misses the point, this NDA yes/no thing has nothing to do with people misunderstanding the term "early access in autumn". If a NDA is in their best interest (and that depends on the state of BoS i think? i'm more of a glass-half-full person, so i think a NDA can be very counter productive, especially since their plan is to get premum preorders during or because of early access) should've been decided in July. Not in October or November. But i don't want to discuss wether or not a NDA is good or bad. I would like to know long before the early access release, if there will be a NDA or not. So i need no answer from anyone without green post background. No offense.
FuriousMeow Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 No, but it has everything to do with people immediately jumping to the forums to loudly proclaim "I paid $100 for THIS?" Yes, yes they did. If people misconstrued early access for early autumn access, they will easily miss that it's beta and there will only be a couple of planes and the game will be largely incomplete. But again, why does the NDA matter to you? If you knew about it months ago, would you care? If you find out last minute, does it mean you'll want a refund? You're just agreeing to not release details of an incomplete title, which I should think everyone who has pre-ordered realizes that's what they are getting.
Livai Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Superghostboy, I'd be very gratefull if you found that post by Jason and gave me the link. I've searched thru the forum and haven't found it yet. Zak, a forum search function would be very helpful. I looked after the discussion where others where happy to upload early access videos to youtube after the answer of no NDA because I hoped to found the answer from Jason better. But it looks like for me that this was removed silently or lost after merged the threads? Since others and I remember it ( for example Member "Laser"), too that this with no NDA was said and many more possible, too. Looks now like someone made a decision and other don't known it from the team?? That only can answer what we have now......................
Livai Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 So it's beta version, not alpha. Good good. They have to pay me if they want me to play any alpha version. its not a beta version. Here a explain what you get for your money...... --> early alpha access for VIP Special Invitation Uber Premium package (VIP Gold Logo) --> alpha access for Premium (Gold Logo) --> beta for Standard (Silver Logo) First off, i don't want to sign a NDA for something that i pay money for. Beta testing, sure, that's an entirely different thing, but it's not called "beta testing" is it? So i need no answer from anyone without green post background. No offense. Its still Alpha Version what Premium preorders gets to play. I know it since I bought premium that the game would be around 35% finished when the premium early access starts but I can follow the game development and help or to made suggestions what could be done better. The NDA thing is to avoid to show others unfinished work or to keep it secret like they cut off from the video "multiplayer tests" from Dev-Blog 37 where the plane crashed the trees or during the Live-Stream to show only that what they want. Live-Stream was under NDA. You could remember that during the Live-Stream they avoid to show the Main Menü, Loading Screen or every crash they made. Every one who known Steam early access game to buy known that early access means unfinished game. For example if you would not known the game but you would like to buy it. And I who have earlier access to the game I would show via youtube that the game its like Silent Hunter 5 or I would write don't buy it. Who you would trust more me or the developer? Me, of course. And a NDA is to avoid this.
Stlkrash Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 (edited) There is something in here about an NDA, I remember reading it. There was a question about having to have one, the answer was no. Posted 18 October 2013 - 13:42 Will there be an NDA on users of the pre release version? Sorry if already asked elsewhere... H arthursmedley heinkill, on 18 Oct 2013 - 13:42, said: Will there be an NDA on users of the pre release version? H No. By me in this thread "But all in all looking good and yep Alfa stage and I am shocked no NDA we had one for ROF in the first stages. I still have a copy here someplace lol." http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/1675-developer-diary-part-37/page-2?hl=nda Edited October 21, 2013 by Stlkrash
FuriousMeow Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 The answer was no by someone not associated with the project. That's like a homeless person giving you advice on the current housing market. 1
=RvE=Windmills Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 There's really no realistic way to impose an NDA on an open or a buy in beta. You can kindly request the users to not post media etc, but that's about it. There's no way you can really enforce anything.
=RvE=Windmills Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 No, but it has everything to do with people immediately jumping to the forums to loudly proclaim "I paid $100 for THIS?" The fact that it is a paid alpha does require it to be playable. While expecting a polished game with limited content would be naive, they did use the beta as a selling point. So they are obliged to provide a playable product, and not something that crashes every 5 minutes for the next few months.

So check and check, it won't be crashing. It just won't be the release version that is still 7 months away.
