Bearcat Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Please work on a DX11 graphic engine and a better netcode. Otherwise the price you ask for BOM is not justified. Look let's just not go there ok... The Dx issue is a non starter for now...
Jade_Monkey Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 (edited) Excellent! I go by the name of obelix in other places and every time i see your posts i get really confused Edited May 29, 2015 by CBZ323
Danziger Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Forget my earlier comments about early vs later P-40 variants. This thing is beautiful!!! 1
Sokol1 Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Like the weathering in P-40 camouflage, without that... "varnish".
Zak Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 Are these clouds different as well? No, I don't think so.
BlackHellHound1 Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Zak, Could you please take a look at your inbox. I have send you an important message. BlackHellHound1
216th_Jordan Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 But the plane texture is not blurry anymore in front of clouds.
Feathered_IV Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 P-40 looks fantastic. Zak, regarding the idea that isn't a plan that might improve gameplay.. Maybe consider running it by the community at some point before going ahead to gauge it's reception. Another unlocks-style event would be best avoided. 5
Bando Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 We have an idea related to campaign mode. It's not yet in the plan, and of course it's not to be announced today. But we are doing something that could make it more interesting. I seriously ask you, guys, to avoid speculation. I mentioned that to let you know that we are listening and actually doing what we can with the limited resource we've got. Made me smile. I won't speculate on the forum. I'll dream in silence.....
coconut Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Nice to see work continues on the engine itself, even though I can also appreciate the art work going on around the planes and the summer maps! If the devs are taking a pass on rendering the sun, would it be possible to take a look at the sun glare effect on triple screen setup? I think it's too strong. For comparison, I'm attaching two screenshots from the same replay. The blue one is taken running the game at resolution 1920x1080, the second one is the center screen from the triple-screen setup (6060x1080).
Jaws2002 Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Thank you for the updates. The new sun is awesome. This is one of the things that annoyed me about the lighting engine of the game. At sunset and sunrise there was no sun, just the light coming from it. It looked odd. I hope the new sun is not lighting through the landscape after sunset anymore. Thank you for the fix. That will greatly improve screenshots taken in golden hour.
FlyingNutcase Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Sun & '40 look'n very nice. I suspect we should rather look forward most to DD100; there's nothing like a centennial to act as a desired milestone.
Bussard_x Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 (edited) "Meanwhile the team is busy creating the project's future. New chapters of the Stalingrad campaign are to be released along with two extra seasonal maps that will be given out for free to all BOS players in a few months." "At the same time we keep working on technologies that will improve gameplay in many aspects. Such enchancements are often very hard to describe and even harder - to show, however there's one of the those which you'll probably notice on the last screenshot below." "And please remember that BOS and BOM are sharing all of our technological and creative achievements, it's a united project and we care about both parts of it equally." "Here comes the DD's most popular part - fresh screenshots. This time we're revealing the looks of P-40E-1, textured and flying in BOS. Note that the plane may probably get some extra polishing before going to early access." Sharp looking P-40! Edited May 29, 2015 by Bussard
Freycinet Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 (edited) Gorgeous-looking P-40. My favourite cartoon artist, Romain Hugault, also loves the P-40 and dedicated his latest album to it (with lots of babes, as is his custom...) http://romain-hugault.blogspot.be/ Edited May 29, 2015 by Freycinet 3
[TWB]otavio Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Looks good. When are you gonna allow us to use mods in game and have control over our graphic options? 6
pilotpierre Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Good looking plane, the original Il2 version of it was an excellent stable platform for strafing, hopefully this one will be too.
StG2_Manfred Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 At the same time we keep working on technologies that will improve gameplay in many aspects. Such enchancements are often very hard to describe and even harder - to show, however there's one of the those which you'll probably notice on the last screenshot below. For me the best part of this diary. Thanks Zak!

Freycinet Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Just for Freycinet : Last week in la Ferté Alais near Paris Thank you, merci beaucoup! - I have been to La Ferté-Alais many times, have their Romain Hugault 2010 poster on my living room wall. Here are some of my plane pics from that year, even including a couple of planes we have in Battle of Stalingrad... :-) http://dalsgaard.eu/2010-05-23.France.Ferte-Alais/index.html

Boomerang Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 The work that continues to reward all who play this game, and the way in which the community is encouraged, is truely saying something about where this team is comming from. Flabbergasted! 1
Freycinet Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Thanks for your perspective Boomerang. Everybody should have that.
Quax Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 (edited) Will we get a (real) night together with the new sunset (which is looking very good) ? Edited May 31, 2015 by Quax
BlitzPig_EL Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Why is the tail wheel down in every screenshot? Great looking model of a great aircraft. Thanks.
Finkeren Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Why is the tail wheel down in every screenshot? . Propably locked down by the ground crew to ease maintainance.
Jason_Williams Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Why is the tail wheel down in every screenshot? Great looking model of a great aircraft. Thanks. Just haven't animated it yet. Remember it's a WIP. Jason 2
BlitzPig_EL Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Thanks for the quick answer sir. Glad it's not some sort of locked down field mod, that would totally spoil the lines of the aircraft. Looking forward to flying the P 40 for sure. 1
