SYN_Bandy Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 (edited) Actually, a better picture of me at work... really... Edited September 19, 2014 by SYN_Bandy
FlatSpinMan Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 @Flying Nutcase - nope, that was taken in the Canadian Rockies. This particular mountain was about 2500m. The ones backing Kobe are only about 800-900m, though they do look impressive as they rise so abruptly from the coastline. Certainly seems high enough when you bike up them.
carts Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Me and my much better half ,just notched up our 25th Wedding Anniversary last month.
DD_Arthur Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Congratulations Mr & Mrs. Carts! This fantastic Indian summer we're having has been too good to waste so we had a little trip to the beach on Saturday afternoon. From left to right; youngest son, Brian the school bear and yours truly. 3
Nil Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 @Blooddawn1942 <-Won! Both a Kreator and a Boltthrower T-shirt! I actually look lite my avatar, (since it's me on the pic)This is me when I cut off ½ a meter of beard this summer, since it was to hot even inside! Sporting my trademark 'predator' Haircut

sallee Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Smedders! Where is that? Cornwall? Pembrokeshire?
DD_Arthur Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 (edited) It's that part of the coast from Prawle Point to Salcombe in South Devon. Its my favourite part of our planet . If you're prepared to drive down some obscure lanes and then - horror of horrors - walk a bit, you'll always find yourself rewarded with a private beach no matter what time of year. FlatSpinMan Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 That looks a lot like a beach near Dunedin, NZ where me and my friends thought we'd try out this "surfing" malarkey. No one died at least, but that was about as good as it got.
sallee Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 It's lovely and I should have remembered...my grandparents retired to Sidmouth....(who didn't?) and we used to go to Salcombe but I suppose I would have been about 12 last time I was there!
DD_Arthur Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Don't worry mate. Having lived in Sidmouth these last eighteen years I can say with complete confidence "It ain't changed!" lol. 1
sallee Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Wow!!! Is "The Mocha" still there? The Mermaid bookshop where I bought "Hitler's High Seas Fleet" (my first book on war-related matters)? Are the pavements still covered in dog poo? Nostalgia attack! In fact, is that nearest building what used to be the Mocha? Mirrors on the wall so you could look at the sea whichever side of the table you sat on?
DD_Arthur Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 The Mocha is still very much in business and is the building in the dead centre of the picture with a roof line slightly lower than its neighbours. The Mermaid bookshop is now Paragon Books - still an independent - and the dog shit has been legislated away. Luckily the healthy covering of guano has been retained. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/celebritytravel/9267549/Jeremy-Vines-Sidmouth.html 1
sallee Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Thanks Arthur. Nice article. I think my brothers and I watched "The Battle of Britain" at the cinema there as well. Have a banana milkshake at the Mocha for me.
MiGCap Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Not really my face, but a nice selfie from a full reheat take-off during the air show at Laage AB in August with the static display area seen in the background. 2
FlatSpinMan Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Trupobaw - I love the crested bike helmet you have there. And yeah, jet biplane. Do we have them?! MiG Cap - what aircraft are you in? Also, awesome.

Do we have them?! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PZL_M-15_Belphegor And a triple record holder ! " 175 aircraft were built; it was only used in the USSR. The PZL M-15 is believed to be the world's only jet agricultural plane (e.g., the world's only jet cropduster), the world's only jet biplane and the world's slowest jet, at least as far as aircraft that have been put in mass production." 1

GP* Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 OK, I'll play... Myself, my buddy Nikko the Shiba Inu, and my Triumph Bonneville. Have no pics of me shooting, but I do quite regularly... SWEET bike! I'm a Triumph nut myself. Here's my bike...but with my wife on it. I figure the forum would rather that than my ugly mug And one of just the bike, with the visor removed:
MarcoRossolini Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Bloody hell, a Mosin and an SVT, you lucky devil!
DD_bongodriver Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Heres a couple of my shooting pics, nothing exotic, just an AK and an AR-15 at DFW gun range, had a try on a Colt 1911 and Gloc 17 too, back at home all I have is rimfire rifles. 1
Y-29.Silky Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 At the good ole hunting shack. Never was a photogenic guy. And here's an action shot. 2

SCG_Neun Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 (edited) My son John with me at the Gettysburg Battlefield to finalize our study of the battle. We took a couple of days and really went over it pretty good. I had at least 40 of my line that fought for the South during that terrible conflict. Most were assigned to Stonewall Jacksons Brigade and at least 10 or so with Turner Ashby's Calvary. My son is a pilot in the USAF flying the C130 J series. He started out simming with me..many moons ago, and he liked to takeoff and land more than combat.....so I figured he might turn out to be a pilot. My wife Mary and I...... DD_Arthur Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Nice pics m8. Isn't your son a member of these forums too? I once flew from RAF Brize Norton in England to Hong Kong in a Hercules - our name for the C130 - took about five days and by the time we got to HK we were all talking like this! Your boy ever taken you for a ride in his?
SCG_Neun Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Yes...John is a member of the forums.....here but he doesn't post......I've never been up with him....He's headed to Germany tomorrow as his new station. Looks like I've got a base of operations to go exploring there now....
Trooper117 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Me at work, off Somalia... Test firing the Steyr Scout. 2
CreepiJim Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Happy hunting, Trooper117. May your rounds find their target, mate.
FlatSpinMan Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 You're the man, Troop. Save Captain Phillips!! And if a few pirates get messed up in the process, well, stuff happens. Take care when you're over there though. Do you have any heavier weapons mounted on those ships, btw? A 50 cal, mayhaps a cheeky little 20mm HE spewing gun or ten wouldn't go astray, I would have thought. At the good ole hunting shack. Never was a photogenic guy. And here's an action shot. You wouldn't be Canadian by any chance, would ya? Hunting, a took (that hat thing), ice-hockey... If so, lucky you! I went there for the first time this summer. Brilliant place! If not, um... well that's awkward.
BFsSmurfy Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Trooper were you on one of these, readthe reviews. http://www.somalicruises.com/
Trooper117 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 lol... seen that before @FSM, sadly no... we have small arms but aren't allowed HMG's etc, which is a point of contention, because one day, a pirate team will turn up with one on one of their mother ships and will out range us! Still, they will have to get onboard at some stage, and then they are the vulnerable ones... Luckily, it's relatively quiet out there at the moment. When I came back last month, there had been only 5 incidents in 4 months on my route resulting in shots fired, which is nothing to what it was like 4 yrs ago! Then it was very dodgy
sallee Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Glider training - Ready for takeoff! Hats off to you for flying in spite of that paralysed arm.
