ST_Catchov Posted May 29, 2023 Posted May 29, 2023 Yeah that stuff's ok but if I really wanna get an early evening soiree swingin' I put my Seeburg collection on the phonograph. To get the party groovin' this gets the chick's attention as I show them my shed and new tools .... And then hit 'em with the killer as the evening turns to night and I shake their 3rd martini .... and voila! Putty. 1 1
ST_Catchov Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Is it 1C forum policy that two separate post 24 hours apart are merged? Video 1 & 2 above were clearly of a different context than videos 3 & 4. If you have any say or input in this decision @LukeFF, please reverse it or provide an explanation.

This whole topic is in the process of being cleaned up, owing to all the many dead links and frankly, quite a few videos/posts that should have been removed long ago for various reasons - so yes, that does include merging the many, many posts where people posted videos in consecutive replies. 1
1CGS LukeFF Posted June 1, 2023 1CGS Posted June 1, 2023 LOL no, I don't reset myself to 1960s French music ?
ST_Catchov Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Hmm okay .... try this one. This is the tragic and heart-breaking tale of a woman who has everything, rich as f###, no worries and yet .... still finds time to whine. The soul-searching pathos is brilliantly done yet strangely elicits little response from the listener. Possibly the greatest song ever written to achieve such an outcome in under 4 minutes. 5 stars. Now here's two girls who ain't sorry about nuthin' and make no apologies. Rock on ladies! Uplifting.

Gingerwelsh Posted June 11, 2023 Posted June 11, 2023 Policemans helmets changed from black to white in the summer, in Brighton. I was there. .. 1 3
Zooropa_Fly Posted June 11, 2023 Posted June 11, 2023 I'm reading Keith Moons biography 'Dear Boy' just now, and apparently the four of them actually had to be woken up after that promo shot above, in front of the U. Grant tomb. The night before Moon had blown up half the Gorham Hotel and had been on the balcony lobbing 'cherry bombs' at police 8 floors below. Somehow he talked his way out of it. 1

Keith Moon started a trend for drug fuelled groups, destroying their hotel rooms. This spread to venues being ripped to shreads by fans. His life was bound to be short and he died in 1978. This was my generation, a fabulous time to be alive. Wages were good, (about £5 per week for me), girls aplenty and scooter boy gangs roaming the south coast looking for fun. Mods were the dominant group, but get caught by rockers on your own and you would get beaten up. A great time to be alive. ..

I've always been appreciative of living through such amazing times, musically, culturally and hair lengthedly. But perhaps it's time to share some hip instrumentals from the same period. 2

ST_Catchov Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 As there's apparently no DD this week about FC progress or anything else remotely interesting it's time to give a couple of talented country gal singers some airtime. On the surface the tunes appear to be wholesome, innocent, womanly laments about lost love and taking it on the chin (ahem) but is there perhaps a darker side of retribution, revenge, vindictiveness and murder! Listen closely to the lyrics for clues. Creepy and disturbing. Perhaps foretelling the disintegration of society 50 years later. Country music at its best. 5 stars.
Gingerwelsh Posted July 3, 2023 Posted July 3, 2023 "I Want to Hold Your Hand" - 1963 to "Happiness is a Warm Gun" - 1968. That's artistic progress. .. 2
