PatrickAWlson Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Live Led Zeppelin is my favorite. Live Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn are very high on the list. Some of the less well known bands/performers that are still active include Buckethead, Lili Hadyn, Wolf Alice and others.
ST_Catchov Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 And a version by George Martin's band. Luverly. But these longhairs! Scruffy louts. Get a haircut and wise up. "She's a #### teaser. She took me half the way there". What the hell are they talkin' about? Utter nonsense.

Holtzauge Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Just check out the maneuvering at contrail height about about 1:30 into the clip. Damn! I just love the Deux Mille! The French really build beautiful planes! And the music is not too bad either..... 1

Not really a good film, but there are very cool aerial sequences in it, sure. I'm proud the French produced it. In 2005 I went to the projection theatre and, after having watched the movie I thought to myself: "ok, so now we the French made our French Top Gun movie... so be it...". "Into the fire" was released while the film was being shot and Thriteen Senses signed agreements with the film producers so that the song is included in it. Cool song and cool Mirage 2000 shots, thank you for the video Holtzhauge. @Raptorattacker, thanks for the Pixies video too, very cool indeed. 1 1

But the SAAB J35 double-delta winged Draken is not a bad looking aircraft either. But the two seat version is not a looker. But I link it anyway since it shows Drakens doing the Cobra about 1 m 50 s into the clip. By the looks of it, the film is from the late 60's, maybe early 70's. So now you know that it's actually a Swedish invention stolen by the Russians! But I link the video from the beginning. Beethoven's piano concerto No 5 Opus 73 has always been one of my absolute favorites and is well worth listening too. 2 1

The smoke puffs pulling Cobras.. bug or feature? Not sure what they are: Maybe the engine surges somewhat? My fist hand guess was that it's simply condensation from the enormous underpressure created when the aoa goes to 90 degrees. But then I saw that puff you circled in the video, and it seems to hang there for a while so maybe a slight compressor stall resulting in some unburnt fuel exiting? The two seat version is downright ugly but from this angle they look better! 1

Still the studio version with Duane Allman playing the slide and also the piano coda just can't be matched IMO... not even with all that talent on stage. Now for some ethereal pop from 1990... ST_Catchov Posted January 17, 2023 Posted January 17, 2023 Ah yes, reminiscing on the days of my youth when I was young, dumb and full of enthusiasm. Crashing house parties every Saturday night where music blared at volume 11 seemingly from every street corner in the 'burbs and the chance of romance blossomed with every beer.
Trooper117 Posted January 17, 2023 Posted January 17, 2023 My favourite Pixies track, ''Blue Eyed Hexe'' just awesome!
343KKT_Kintaro Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Ok Catchov, good! Let's stay in the 70s... 2
