Dserver Problem With Failed Login

Salute, fellow pilots!

Got my dserver license today and had everything set up, but I seem to be stalling before entering the cockpit.

I keep getting this error when starting Il-2 dedicated server:

" !!! ERROR INET thread: MIS_REQUEST_FAILED: MIST_LOGIN "

The story so far:

1) I created a new account, using an E-Mail addy, never before used in activating any BoS lic. key.

2) I activated my newly received lic. key using this account.

3) I installed a complete and new copy of the game onto a second machine - my dedicated server.

4) I ran DSERVER.exe, used "Manage SDS" to create a .sds file, which contained one map (rankeddedlapino),

"normal" settings, a server name without any special font types and my credentials, with which I login (E-Mail and password).

5) Yes, I checked: ranked=0

6) TCP and UDP ports 28000 and TCP 28100 are open.

Any idea? Any help?

external IP =1 ? (or checkbox in manage SDS)

Hi there! Thanks for the quick reply.

But alas no, that didn't help.

*EDIT* tried to run a dedi with my my "normal" login credentials and everything worked fine.

Perhaps an issue with 1c/777's master servers?

This is the reply I got

Before starting, DServer once run the game using the DS-account
This is to add to the configuration file of the login and password of your DS-account

and  I tried this and it didn't work...admittedly I had run the Dserver before running the game.

Now I have deleted the SDS file, run the game and tried again with the same result.

Anyone got any ideas? Maybe delete the config file?

From ROF, we get that message a lot if the server is sitting idle.   Have always thought it just meant your server and the main server tried to communicate to say hi to each other, and could not.

But it has never interfered with running a mission.

Did you actually open up your sds file in the dserver, and see if it would login, and load the mission??

And, I know the dserver works if I edit the sds file manually, have not tried the sds gui, but if you can not get around login issues, I would suggest you open your sds in notepad, and make sure all the entries are in there correctly.

Your login is your email address not the login you use in the game.

I was logging in as JG5_Server and the password. I just tried with JG5_Server@Hotmail.com & pwd and it worked!

Try that!

Hi, there!

I have also tried with a friends game account email and password and everything worked fine.

If I try to login using my dedi account email (fully, with the @ and anything) and password, still nogo.

And yes: I've started the game before everything, if only out of curiosity.

And I've been altering the .sds files both manually and in Dserver.

Makes no difference.

Using game login = working;

using special dedi login = nada.

  And no word from 1C/777 helpdesk so far. Let's wait another day...

BUT: many thanks go out to you guys for your time, hints and help! :salute:

OK another thing I did was start the game and attempt to join multiplayer missions and/or quick missions. You cant fly but I just fdid it anyway before I had the last revalation. Also delete your SDS file and make a new one after this.

Hi, there!

So I did all of the above mentioned, deleting .sds, starting the game with the dedi credentials, but still:

" !!! ERROR INET thread: MIS_REQUEST_FAILED: MIST_LOGIN "

I can login into the game, I see my chosen dedi account name, but still the master server won't accept my login data.

Also I've several times for typos, everything is correct.

And again If I use my game credentials, or that of a buddy, everything works like a charm.

Really strange.

Have any of you had experiences, or issues with long names? My login name (e-mail) is 16 characters long. Perhaps a little too long?

Mine is 17, that shouldn't be a problem. Weird issue you've got there.

Weird issue you've got there.

Yup. But that's seems part of some kind of a life plan for me: I always draw the odd numbers... :(;)

Just a small point of confusion (could well be on my part  )...

Make sure you login to the game manually (at least once) with the DServer Account id, *not* your normal game account.

Additionally, I also log that acount into the forum as well, to make sure you've applied the license key you were given.

After that, setting up your ports and bandwitdth limits (in start-up.cfg) and an .sds  server definition file should get you going.

As for master server issues, they *are* having Big-Time issues with their master server today on the RoF side, so there might be some carryover here (depending on how they have things set up). Hopefully, they'll get that straightened out soon (if it isn't already).

GL - Hope you get it up and running soon.

Regards,

Hey, -NW-FourSpeed, thanks!

As for what you advised firstly and secondly - done it before, more than once.

As for the advice on the RoF master servers - hmmhmm, must've heard that one before... ;)
