Volkoff Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 yep, not a "founders only" gift. We, as founders, just get the joy to have it without any works. I am sure they will figure out some gift for us, I have no idea what it will be, but for sure we will have candies as well I suggest we get a lead lease Chuck Norris mod. MJ
nevervne Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 (edited) I think the beta will release tomorrow. Since I pre-ordered the premium edition I have not actually been charged. My bank account was just charged the 90$ now and usually when you pre-order something and the money gets taken from your account, that means that the company is about to release the game whether it's in (paid)beta form or the full game. One can hope! Edited October 17, 2013 by nevervne
FuriousMeow Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 (edited) I wouldn't bet on it. The payment went straight out of paypal for me right away. And although Paypal is not credit, it was probably just a delayed charge that had to await confirmation for you. Edited October 17, 2013 by FuriousMeow
ATAG_Slipstream Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Yes, the money comes straight out. I reckon the release is about a week away. I think Zak said they will give the date 'several days' before release.
mazex Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 No need to hurry the release... Tomorrow is "TF 4.0 patch day" to let's spread the goodness a bit Two weeks will be fine with me
ST_ami7b5 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Yes, the money comes straight out. I reckon the release is about a week away. I think Zak said they will give the date 'several days' before release. One week? New term, LOL? We'll see tomorrow -> (very) Soon
choctaw111 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I finally pre-ordered today. I don't know why I put it off for so long but I was sitting at my desk and thought to check in and see what was happening. The screenshots and videos look great. I see some familiar names here and have many fond memories of the Il2 community going all the way back to its infancy. 1

BMA_West Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Just come from the ROF forum where Zak made following topic: <Temporary Connection Issues: October 17th 8:30-10:00 UTC/GMT Going: Dear pilots!Today we really need to do a couple of tests that may help us provide you with better service in future. That's why there may be connection issues and significant delays in updating stats today from 8:30 till 10:00 GMT. You will still be able to connect and play, however there's a chance that it will take longer than usually.Sorry for inconvenience everybody!> If I were to bet ... you think what I am thinking

Yammo Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 (edited) A quick note on "founders" getting access to a weapon that noone else CAN get access to. Somehow that doesn't feel "right" or "fair"... I've never jumped in on a pre-release purchase because of shiny trinkets, usually that works the other way around for me as I completely agree with "TotalBiscuit's" notion that pre-release stuff is a horrible practise that needs to be shot-down wherever it appears. Instead my main motivation for dishing out the cash is that I want the developers to get as much money, as soon as possible, in order to support the genre. If you want to give founders any sort of appreciation, make it something that doesn't affect gameplay. Personally, I usually prefer unique display-/combat-skins, but perhaps that's just because I'm a huge fan of aerobatics. //Yammo www.virtualredarrows.com Edited October 17, 2013 by Yammo

JAGER_HAIBOCK Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Tip of the day: Since every Friday is a day of screen saver then it is another Bf 109 F4 because I am tired of my screensaver.
TheBlackPenguin Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Have to work an extra day tomorrow, so its likely the beta will be released lol.
EvilJoven Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Is there any way to cancel a pre-order once it's been made? I'm willing to pre-order but only if I can cancel if the game ends up turning out to be something I don't want to play.

EvilJoven Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 (edited) LOL seriously? Yes. Seriously. I'm willing to pre-order and essentially loan the studio money if I have the option to back out if the product looks like it's going to be below my standards once I've had a chance to try it hands on. I'm not willing to hand money to anyone based solely on promises and youtube videos with no option to back out. Edited October 18, 2013 by EvilJoven
AndyJWest Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Ok, don't pre-order then. Wait for reviews.
FuriousMeow Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Never, ever, has there been an option to cancel a pre-order once a title has been released and played in any form. Never. You can't buy a game, play it and then return it for a full refund.
EvilJoven Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) A few Steam games, IIRC, gave you that option. Until the game was fully released you could cancel, even after the alpha/beta was out. ARMA3 was an exception because they sold Alpha access as a product with the beta and full game as bonuses, essentially. That being said, apparently the answer for this game is no, so I'll wait for release. Edited October 19, 2013 by EvilJoven
=BKHZ=Furbs Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Ok, in your case i would wait until maybe a few weeks after the beta starts and you have heard some views from founder members who have played the sim. Ask questions, lots of questions...i would be willing to answer any questions you have and give a honest review after a couple of weeks play. Hows that?
EvilJoven Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Works for me. Until release I'm deliberately avoiding the hype, forums and developer blogs. I remember my sim group watching the news slowly trickle down before the last release with baited breath and, well, you all know the story. That's why this time I won't pre-order and I'm being cautiously optimistic without getting my hopes up. Once it's released though, even in beta, I'll want to know as much about it as possible.
FlatSpinMan Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Yep. Best wait for the final version, mate. Ah. I see others already suggested this.
Yammo Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Let's beat this dead horse one more time. I looked and didn't immidiately find anything relating to this. I see now that it has already been voted down by the founders before me. Is there some kind of sacrifice I can make in order to draw upon your mercy for accidentally touching upon this topic? I really in good honesty did not mean to offend your deep emotional stand on this issue, so - please... do accept my deepest apologies for not being omniscient... ^_^ 1
SvAF/F19_Klunk Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) The offer that stands now (until 11th of Nov) for initial Premium at $89,99 is really a bargain price-wise, in comparison to final $59,99 for Standard edition and $99,99 for Premium edition PLUS it will grant buyers early access AND all the bonus stuff that is connected with that offer. So if you are sure that you will buy BoS eventually, there is really no reason not to buy the Premium edition before 11th of November, unless you have issues with pre-ordering as a concept or any other "marketing choices" the studio has made. I was thinking the same thing. Is there other any differences between Standard and Premium Edition than two extra planes and earlier early access? That is it as far as I know.. I am thinking that given the fact that the final release will be $10 more than the pre order I am wondering what the cost of new aircraft will be or how that will work in relation to the La & FW and the difference in pricing between the premium and standard which I assumed had to do with the extra aircraft in part.

I find it hard to belive that the two additional planes would cost 40 dollars that is the difference between Standard and Premium Edition prices. In Rise of Flight most normal planes cost nowadays 6.25 dollars and if I remember correctly they used to cost 7.99 dollars before.
Skid Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 OK, my pre-order is in. That short little dogfight video got to me... I could hear the whistle of the turbo on the 109...
hiro Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Part of being in on the early release is supporting the game. Yes we get the two plane thing. But the pre order is because you want to support this thing from the start. The devs seem to know what they are doing, and thus I've made a decision to support them. "Homies!" *most of the room stands up* . A lot of issues and stress can be avoided just by weighing in on the choice. This is 89 dollars or 66 Euro , money is tight, yes I know, but it ain 1000 or 700 ish euro . . . so the amount is not too much, unless you are in high school (or younger) and $$ is hard to come by but summer and part time jobs just passed us by . . . I think why is a touchy point is there are some people here that want it all. They want the decision and benefits without the consequence. And life doesn't work like that. They want the goodies of a founder but don't want to give up the cash and wait.. So then they say its unfair the devs can change it, they can make a policy change, an update etc. And blame the devs for putting them in the bind. But the reality is it's the bad attitude and selfish thoughts that are generating the disorder and stress. It's not the devs fault. The devs are offering members of the community in on an special thanks and to help pay for the game early, which some in the community has stated what they wanted. You have hot scalding coffee in the driving to go cups with the pop off plastic lid and decide to take off with it in between your legs, and the stick knocks it loose, burning the thighs more than hundreds of burpees and the side effect of burning causing a ground loop to twist the plane and knock a few bruises / teeth loose. Can't blame the coffee or the stand that served it, should have thought ahead and gotten a thermos with a stowage strap to tie that thing down. Dudes and dudettes, make a decision and do it, not whine about how it should be different. There are much greater things in the world that should be whined about that is a true injustice than a dev closing down founders option after a stated period of time. Do the thermos thang and preorder, or wait and don't pick up lava burning coffee before take off.

Krig Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) Preorder for the golden bar! Yea that's right. all the commoners will bow to you as soon as you post anything be it right or wrong all thanks to the golden bar. Or preorder because you want to support the cause and the developers. Like the rest of us Edited October 19, 2013 by Otyg

--loner--Dovla Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Hmm, well I am not supporting anyone with 90 $, I want value and fun for it and I'll be disappointed if I dont get it, same way I am disapointed with arma3 deluxe supporter edition or whatever they called it..., also same as me kickstarting DCS ww2, not supporting - investing and looking for ROI

I have bought a lot of games that didn't live up to their marketing fluff. I bought BoS based on the demonstrated ability of 777 to delliver a quality product. 1
